Harper's Birthday - Part 6!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Keep at it Lousie. They may just give up ... eventually.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Call me a cynic. Weeds never give up.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Gallant soldiers - that's a name for a kind of weed, right? Well, Louise, if you think a lapel pin would inspire a little more respect for the lady of the house, I say "go for it', it's worth a try!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Do they still make panty hose - and if so, why?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Harper, you are a realist, not a cynic! We've had to even mow part of our meadow because we saw some of the soldiers marching on to war there too. Once the flowers come.....Poof! there you have about 2,000 little new ones to fight.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Happy Birthday, Harper!
I hope you are getting some of this morning's glorious rain!

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

Happy Father's Day birthday, Harper!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Happy Day-After-Father's-Day birthday, Harper!
Rain for you this morning?

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

He he... thanks for the Father's Day wishes. I think...?

Good question Michaela about the pantyhose. How come some of us still wear tights? Why are they not the same?

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I think tights are, uh, looser? Not quite so constricting?

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Pantyhose are supposed to look like your legs - you can see through them. Tights are usually more opaque and/or a different color.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

It's different with little girls, transitioning to big girls/little tweens (of course I have to shave my legs Mom, I'm 11!), to little teenagers ..... you get the idea. My girls (14 and 17) would rather not wear them (pantyhose), and you're right, they do wear tights for the fashion or the color.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i won't wear ones that are supposed to look like my legs. But i am weird. i also wear plenty of cheap silly jewelry (thank heavens for Claire's), but won't wear anything fake gold or silver.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Claire's and the other store. (What's it called?) Harper, they're having lightning for your Birthday!

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Well, don't get your panty(hose) in a twist over it. I mentioned Spanx, which are very hot here in Atlanta and everywhere else. Check them out (Google). They are, in my, opinion a cool fashion accessory and not a necessity as hose were "back n the day".

L

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Spanx is the most wonderful invention ever!!
My sister swears by them. Would you believe, though, that I don't own any? I have been waiting for some time, and now that you have reminded me, Laurel, I am just gonna have to order some for myself.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I like Claire's too. They're like a candy store.

Spanx. I looked them up. They're pantyhose with no foot? I don't get it. What's so special about them? Fill me in please!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

They also hold you in where you want to be held in.

Check out QVC, too.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Aren't they like a kinder, gentler girdle? (Seems like a contradiction in terms!)

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i think some spanx have feet. They are all supposed to have magical properties of slimming.

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

I don't have any, but they are supposed to be the "it" thing and purported to be comforting rather than constricting. I like the calf ones and think they're sexy. If I was younger, I think those would look very cool with short skirts and wedged shoes.

My DD is very practical and not into fashion statements. Not so with me at the same age (and for years there after).

L

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I WISH my DDs were more practical and less fashionable. I don't think they're fashionable myself, but they may think so, I guess.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Oh, slimming properties. Now that makes sense.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I'll take anything that helps and makes sense.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Candyce - you do NOT need slimming properties, so I'll take your share! LOL

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Hey, Happy Hot and Sultry Birthday, Harper!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

LOL!

Thank you for the compliment, Louise. Just don't ask me to wear a bathing suit.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Guess what everyone! I got 2 kittens! Yikes! and Oh boy!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

You went out and got them, or your cat delivered them? Either way that's VERY exciting!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I went out and got them. Haven't ever had a momma cat except when we had outdoor cats as kids.

Oh, Harper! They are so adorable! I could just reach through the screen and tickle their ears!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Congrats Harper!! They are so cute!!!!! Names??

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

I love 'em! They must be so much fun. I miss having a cat. Might be time again....

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I have to wait until DD#2 (now 14) leaves home and DH stops making jokes about catapaults and catastrophes.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

I love kitties! Yours are so cute, Harper.

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

Happy kittens-birthday Harper!

So cute!
There is a woodpecker outside my window in a nearby tree this morning. I could swear that he is tapping out "Happy Birthday, Harper", in woodpecker code!

LOL wood pecker code

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

No names yet, but we're getting closer. Just about nearly named them "Mojo" and "Jojo" Yikes! I have one boy and one girl.

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Harper, I've read that naming your animals names that are too similar in sound can cause confusion in training. That being said, you can have a cat that is following the Way and call it Dojo. Very cute kittys. We have two also, a boy and a girl, Romeow and Purrl. Both rescues.
