Just a couple more:
Hang-a-pot co-op - post pictures here!
These are all so nice. db I love the orchids. Alas my pot hangers are still in the shed in the package they came in. I am so far behind I think I have to wait until next year now. I haven't even looked for pots yet. lol
You guys have done wonders with them. Very nice.
Linda
good job... they look great
Very nice.
I love how y'all are using your hang-a-pots! Some great ideas that I might steal from you! :-) Very. very nice!
Your garden area is beautiful Joanna! Love the mix of plants in the hang-a-pot! You have a good eye for mixing plants together!
Sadly, we had a really bad storm that pulled my 3 hang-a-pots right off the chain link fence, pot and all. They were attached with zip ties, one at the top and one at the bottom. I've salvaged some of the plants, but many broke off. Bummer.
Bummer! I think the wind or heavy rain is what brought one of mine down. But the hang-a-pot is still on the post like nothing ever happened! LOL!
my purple rains didn't do so good ... so far
:(
Great pics with the hangers. Am loving mine also. Now can yall remind me? WHAT is rain? dbsmith2 you should be ashamed for not feeding those wonderful gardens! LOL It is so dry here I will Kill them if I feed. Water, Water, Water and pay bill. NOTHING! Give them an inch of rain and it is amazing!
Once you know what it is, WeedLady, let me know!
It's the stuff that falls from the sky as soon as I hang out the laundry, and continues unabated throughout the weekend. A few hours break on a few week days while I'm at work, and then as soon as I head out to the garden at night, the skies open. The best part? Standing out in the pouring rain and watering the vines in the pots - because the leaves keep the rain out. I think the neighbors are concerned....
The viney forest of pots:
LOL! Oh yeah ... I've been known to water plants in the rain for the exact same reason! Too funny! My neighbors are convinced I am far from normal! LOL!
Stuff falling from the sky is from legend only! No one in recent history has seen such nonsense here! (ok, that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but not much!) There were a few drops of some foreign substance falling from the sky yesterday . . . ^_^
I was singing RAIN DROPS KEEP FALLING ON MY HEAD to my Mail Lady and she thought I was crazy. Sure made her smile!
I see the sky darken, and I get excited, then I watch the clouds pour rain a few blocks away, and I hang my head and water.
I was sure it would rain here yesterday morning, but we could see the clouds go by ,at least some one around here got rain.
I was out doing a dance last night, one of my dogs ,Sallie Mae,got a rat,it bit her on her lip,now she is pouting cause she worked so hard to catch it,and I did a dance and took it away... taking her to work to have Doc check her out, I think that might have looked like a rain dance.Or a dance of the totally insanely scared.
I was out watering so I guess it was a blessing in disguise.......
ouch... poor baby
Ralph contacted me and wants to do a contest for those who participated in the co-op. I'll start another thread so we can post pictures there, but we'll also have to email them to Ralph to give to his judges. Everyone who enters will get some hang a pots, and there will be first, second and third prize winners who will receive more hangers! Our pictures may also be featured on his website. My niece is visiting, so it might take me a week to get all the info together and posted. Start taking pictures!
cool
didn't want to post this in the co-op thread ....
I had to come revisit this thread... I saw the hang a pot guys at the edison flower show here in NJ.. guess the reps were not the people dealing with us here at Dave's... the guys didn't know what I was talking about... they were selling them for $3.00 each I think... he knocked the price down to $2.00 since we were prior customers.... (I was looking at his boards to see if any of my photos were there.. they were not)... when I told him we paid less than $1.50 (couldn't remember exactly) each he looked at me like I had three heads ... we passed on them
then we thought about it... maybe they gave us such a huge discount because of the quantity in the co-op... even though I would have bought 10 - 20 more... I decided not to
Yepper - most plant shows I see them selling for upwards of the $3 - then of course they're willing to play "lets make a deal" - hmph...that's ok.
I wanted to share something: I put several of my pots up on the metal fence post with zip ties. Everyone one of them has come down, the zip ties have cracked from the weather. If you used zip ties, you might want to check them. Luckily I had removed the pots.
oh no
:(
