Ow. Yes. Every once in a while, human person needs pack leader instructions.
Yes. I just found a cat (who doesn't even live here - she just visits when the dogs are out) stretched out on the sofa in the library. I guess its cooler there than upstairs on the faux fur throw on the sofa in the hallway there.
I asked her if she would like to go outside. She said NOOOOOOO.
Scattelogical ramblings and desultory humor - Frostfree?
Smart kitty to come when the dogs go out....and why would she leave? She knows when she's got it made!! LOL
I love cats that visit.
They wander in when our cats are finished w/breakfast and we leave the deck door open so they can come and go at will.
There is a very old cat one block over who showed up a month ago, we poste notices in mailboxes and sure enough two cute stressed kids showed up.Turns out the cat is over twenty and dementia has set in, she gets out and wanders. I toldDD I hope the neighbors do that for me in later years.
The only cat not welcome to wander in is an intact male.
this is an old old female cat. Once she did decide to sleep over at our house without telling me.
When the dogs come in and eat their supper their favorite thing to do is go up on the balcony.
Ah. Ha. There was the cat. When Emmagreyhound came down to get me, (to join in the fun, I guess), we found that Roscoe had the cat out on the gutter around the balcony. She couldn't get away, and he couldn't get any closer without going over the edge.
After that she is willing to go out before the dogs come in.
She has an intact male friend, who does drop by now and then. He is so beaten up and skinny. I guess he is her son from the old days. He still hangs out with his mom sometimes.
Oh. No. Miss Schick! Please take care. No fun to wind up in the swamp.
Doesn't the male whizz all over the furniture? That's been my worry.
I have a friend whoes son is still in her life. She can't seem to let him go and he keeps turning up worse off than the visit before. There are a thousand stories like that.
Female cat will not let her son (?) in the house. He has to stand at the door to eat. If he tries to get in, she swats him. Finally, he goes away and comes back a week later with his ears torn to shreds.
As for human sons who do not leave their mothers, that is another story. Even Dr. Phil said, to a woman whose fiance still lived with his mother - Are you sure that man has the social development that you will need in a life partner?
No. No Way.
So be glad, Mama, when your son hits the streets. He is learning what he needs to know!
Just get out the mercurichrome (sp??) when he comes home with shredded ears.
Glad I have daughters
hey Gloria what a 1/2 of a feline???
that refers to the male cat who only comes around half of the time, for medical treatment and a bite of catfood if the female lets him have any.
Aaaahhhhh.
do you think she would tolerate him better if i had him neutered?
Maybe, she probably thinks he has more than food on his mind!
He probably does!
Her own little boy kitty???
temperature 85 degrees F. Humidity 74%.
pooped and I haven't done anything except work on the computer all day.
Isn't it amazing that we all have such gifted pets? Just like our kids and grandkids. Really amazing.
Harper, Pogo did leave us a good size macerated hunk on the floor. In a weak moment I wondered about ground tenderloin burgers and the medicinal qualities of lots of garlic. Didn't do it though.
On the topic of neutering...has anyone seen the Gary Larson cartoon with the dog hanging out the car window as it wheels through the neighborhood? The dog is shouting to all the neighborhood dogs that he's going to get "tutored"! We have four rescued dogs and two rescued cats. Each time we make that special trip to the vet we tell them they're going to get tutored. It must work 'cause they don't seem anxious at all :).
hahahaha. i guess they learn their lesson...
Not Emmagreyhound. This time she just went in to get weighed, but she intimidated a bull dog, and scratched a nice ladies pantyhose while she was at it.

I don't think neutering him will change her attitude but it would make him less apt to wander and fight.
I am for neutering and spaying.
My SIL is director of the Humane Society here and they are always way full up with dogs and cats from irresponsable owners.
I don't mean to imply you are anything of the kind Gloria he is a stray and at least you feed him. His issues with his mother you had better stay out of, no sense getting in between a mother and son. HEE Hee hee

Not a joke with the way things are headed.
Subject: License Plate Theft
INFO FROM A STATE TROOPER....PLEASE READ!!!!!
A woman said her son found his license plate missing so he called the police
to file a report. They told him people were stealing the plates to get free
gas. Given the rise in gas prices, people have taken to stealing license
plates, putting them on their car, then getting gas and running. The gas
station will have "your" license plate # and you could be in trouble for
"pump and run." Check your car periodically to be sure you still have a
plate. If you should find it missing, file a report immediately!!! Keep an
eye on your license plate! Make sure you always know it's there! When the
license plate is reported as the "drive off vehicle", it's YOU they contact!
Be aware!!!! Be aware of your license plates, most of us never look to see
if the plates are there or not.
Holycow what next?
TICK WARNING!
I hate it when people forward bogus warnings, and I have even done it myself a couple times unintentionally...but this one is real, and it's important. So please send this warning to everyone on your e- mail list.
If someone comes to your front door saying they are checking for ticks due to the warm weather and asks you to take your clothes off and dance around with your arms up, DO NOT DO IT!! THIS IS A SCAM!!
They only want to see you naked.
I wish I'd gotten this email yesterday. I feel so stupid.
Heck! They are siphoning gas from cars right in driveways by the light of the moon. These are desperate times.
Very funny, pirl!
cute Pirl!
Pirl! You did that???
I want to do "that" even without ticks.
It would shure keep strangers from soliciting in the neighborhood.
We're all "biddies" here so I doubt they'd come to this area. Darn it.
These houses are a bit intimidating also. Mostly we get little kids selling stuff for school programs and yesterday there were two little girls collecting for a food cupboard.
Shady characters!
Morning, Victor.
Good morning, Gloria. How are you doing? Sweltering?
I want that mat.
My sister told me they just had another frost in Michigan. All the flowers that were blooming froze.
I guess I should just shut up and enjoy the sweltering heat.
