Luckily loud birds also--they let you know they are in the area, but in spite of size they hide very well.
DAILY PICS VOL. 107
Nice pics nanny! Don't you just love the Goldfinch sounds?

Outstanding pics Rose! What a great variety!
Hubby takes a turn babysitting. Yep, the babies are here. I tried to get a picture of them this evening and got my hair parted by daddy! I looked all around and thought the parents were over at the feeder. I should have known they would not both leave the nest at one time.
Hopefully, baby pictures tomorrow.
You all are smokin' with them cameras!! lol
Adel, those Steller Jays are putting on a real show this week!
Rose, you are just out doing yourself everday! I know what you mean about getting confused I am having the same problem with the warblers and oriole too! I have to go back & check I may have a pic of an orchard too! lol
GG, you are getting some fabulous shots! Looking forward to baby pics...but be careful out there!
pelle, I love the song of the goldfinch. It is such a happy sound!
Thanks Nanny. Just lucky on the shots.
Great shots guys!
GG, I love those Buntings!
Rose, Beautiful Oriole!
Thanks everyone.
Sad day at the Grunt house this morning. I went out early to see if I could figure out a way to get a picture of the baby birds. Sadly, the nest had been ripped from the bush and was on the ground. All that remained was the empty nest and part of the wing of the female.
Very, very sad day. I could kick myself for not being more persistent last evening to get baby pictures -- but, I didn't want to disturb them. And, daddy had buzzed me one time already just for standing in the lawn about five feet from the nest.
In a way, I hope the predator got both cardinals--otherwise, I will be seeing a very sad male with no mate.
GG
I am so sorry GG! That is so distrubing to find...
It is human nature to checkout nest and such, but it does leave a scent trail for predators to follow. I found a phoebe nest and I really want to check it out. But I live where there are lots of natural predators plus lots of cats that run loose. So I am fighting the urge to go peek.
