thank you so much~

I enjoyed all of the pictures everyone.

The little Indigo Bunting returned to the feeder this evening. He appears to be looking at the mess the Blue Jays made.

We had a Redheaded woodpecker last summer pass through. I am hoping one will stop by again since I didn't get a pic of it!

Gray Catbird they sure like the grapes and grape jelly! I tried peach perserves today and had no takers on that.

nanny_56 Keep trying. It took a couple of days for my birds to decide they liked it.

Lewisburg, KY(Zone 6a)

Granny, does the indigo bunting eat at your feeder? Oh, they are a favorite of mine! I have seen them in the fields and in the yard occasionally but never at my feeders.

Nice pics nanny! I love the Catbird shot!

GG, The Indigo Bunting is adorable!

Lewisburg, KY(Zone 6a)

I have been thinkink about taking the screens out and trying to get a good shot of my bluebirds nesting. They are just outside of my kitchen window. I have tried to get close, but they seem to fly up into the branches. I don't have a strong zoom lens either.

You guys are busy beavers posting all these great pics!

Debin thanks for starting the new thread!

I have been trying to get some work done outside between the raindrops so not much time to download pics I have taken. Another storm on the way so maybe later today. First I must run to town and get more jelly...these Orioles are real pigs and need to stock up again!

Linthicum Heights, MD(Zone 7a)

Nice photos everyone.

Janet, I like your Red-headed Woodpecker shots in particular in that it is one bird that has eluded me thus far. They are such a beautiful bird. They are around but never where I am.

PanamonCreel, nice shot of the American Bittern. Do you see them often ? Two years ago, I photographed the only one I have ever seen.

Florence, MS(Zone 8b)

Brown Thrasher. Most of the ones I see are on the ground so getting a pic of one in a tree is a treat for me.

Beautiful catch Frank!! Though we see it everyday, I guess it is a rare sight for most!

Several shots of Blue Jays posing pretty for me the other day.

The Downys have been coming everyday and harvesting whatever kind of bug is on the elm trees.

Well, I have to go met my stepmom for lunch so I am off. It's about an hour drive to where we are meeting. I am sure there will be lots of great pics when I get back!

Well not such a great shot as I only had my short lens, but here is my first sighting of a yellow-rumped warbler.

I just saw a number of Tree Swallows swooping low (6-10 feet) above the ground trying to catch bugs, They did it over and over again. Very cool looking!

I have missed so many threads lately - you all are so wonderful to keep posting for our enjoyment!

I was in the kitchen - have no idea what sent me outside to see a tree loaded up with Orioles! At last. They were flitting around so much I could only capture a glimpse. Had to rush out to the shed to grab the jelly feeder and get it set up.

It was a nasty day here yesterday with high winds and some heavy rains. That didn't keep my cardinal pair away from the safflower feeder, though.

Just got back from town and could not get started on chores until I checked out the wonderful new pictures on this forum. Great pictures everyone.

Bluegrassmom, the little Indigo Bunting has started to visit this particular feeder every day between 5 and 6 p.m. If another bird comes to the feeder, it retreats to the Mock Orange Bushes and waits until the other bird leaves. They are absolutely adorable. And, I think I saw a female yesterday. I am going to break up some peanuts with a hammer and put them in a special place for the little Buntings.

Right now, the Grackles and Jays are emptying my feeders in 24 hours

No pictures, BUT I was able to watch a Piliated woodpecker working on a dead birch tree for about 5 minutes this morning. It was working near the base of the tree so has probably cleaned out the other bugs over the yrs. We don't know if it is nesting or just marking territory, but great fun.

Marlton, NJ

Very nice pics GM!!!

Lewisburg, KY(Zone 6a)

iris, we have pileated woodpeckers in our area. I have never had the camera when one is nearby. They are large birds!
