DAILY PICS VOL. 103

Jeffersonville, IN(Zone 6b)

Wow! What amazing pictures in Vol. 102. The Indigo Buntings, Tangers, Orioles, Bluebirds, everything! What awesome pictures and a definite sign that Spring is finally here after a long, hard Winter!

I did see my first Rose Breasted Grosbeak yesterday and finally got a decent shot today. They are such pretty birds -- just wish they'd stay here a bit longer!!

The goldfinch are acting crazy as ever, and yesterday was the first time I've ever seen them eat dandelion seeds! That was very funny to watch!

In any event, thanks Pelle for asking me to start this new thread. I'll start out with a shot of the Rose Breasted Grosbeak pigging out at the feeder.

Great shot indiana! Hope they stay for you!

Thanks for starting the new thread!

Here's the Goldfinches taking off and landing at the feeder...

Nice pics! I'm not seeing too many Goldfinch around probably because of too many Starlings and Grackles.

Thanks Pelle!
Here's a Red-winged blackbird -- they look so cool in flight!

I've got tons of Starlings, but they don't seem to bother the Goldfinches.
One last shot for now -- my computer is very slow now and I guess I'm gonna have to reboot. :(
Here's a cute little White Crowned Sparrow wishing I'd mow!!

dellrose.....you are right about the Bullock's Orioles being pigs and loud. I went out to fill the sock feeders and when I was there this male landed in the tree next to me (about 3 feet away and eyeball height) and read me the riot act all the time I was there.

Gray Catbird - This guy has been singing his little heart out today. I saw my first hummingbird of the year yesterday. I tried several times to get a good picture of him at the window nectar feeder, but failed. I think it's gonna entail me washing windows!

Got confirmation that there are two male Bullock's Orioles. While this one was scarfing up the nectar, a second male was in the tree behind him.

Dh and I were working in the backyard today and I was taking a break and looked up at the pecan tree. I saw a strange bird eating tassles and went to get the camera. We took several shots theses are the best.

Oh, I have looked in my Birds of NAm book and this is a
Blackburnian Warbler! It isn't one I would have ever thought to see. I had never even heard the name!!
