Thanks for the welcome Liz.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Pt.41 Visit with Friends
Ahhhhh Liz, hang on to your lacy drawers for a minute.....I finally got it all done and you now have a Secret Pal. Did you think I was going to leave you out? Ha! Not on your life, kiddo!
I had a bad day, my best friend died and though I was expecting it, it still hurt my heart. Anyway, I can't talk about it, so moving right along through my tears and runny nose........
Oh Carol....I am so excited to start seeing your garden photos again. I want to get lost someday in your Secret Garden. That is so special, and your hostas, OMG, 64 hostas.....I have hostas too, but not enough shade and summers are too hot for me to have very many, but they are so beautiful.
Ruby, my dear...I hope you get your Miss Emily fix more often now, I can't wait to hear what she gets into when she starts strolling around in your house.
OMG, Gita....what a looker! Beautiful. I loved your e card you sent today, thank you so much, that was a beautiful touch on a rough day.
Laura you are sounding so good....that makes me want to smile, too.
Vicki with no goats.....I have truly thought of that so many times today, and I know it must have made you feel so funny....I was having one of my blond moments.
And Judy...congrats to Miss Julia. You have such lovely kids, all of them. I know you are proud, and I am proud for you and for them.
Heaven......Hi Sweetie, so nice to have you here....I sent you a D mail, so let me know what you think.
See, I told you Bev would WOW us with her photos....and she does excellent work, don't you see??? I will warn you now, Bev, I will save all your photos...I'll have a Bev file, just like my Carol file to give me inspiration when I decide to paint. I have a Betty file, too...and a Liz file, and a Judy/Sabrina file....well, you get the picture. Actually I have an over loaded computer.
OK....Secret Pal stuff is done: On your Mark, Get Set, GO!!!!! for May and June.
And here is another painting for you, because I was too lazy to get outside today and take pictures......
XOXO...
Shar
Edit: this picture enlarges too much to see it very well, the thumbnail gives the best effect. The painting was done by one of my painting students, she did so well for her first painting that she gave the painting to me when she graduated. I miss kids like that. Nite now.

Sharron - You just closed your message with a comment on one of your former students. That was going to be a question that I asked you while I am trying to get to know you a bit better. Which students have gone on to "make you proud"? By that I mean, do you have any former students who are now teaching art, or making their livings in the art field? For some reason, I see you as being a major influence on many lives and the former students wanting to pay honor to you in some way by incorporating what you have taught them on to others.
Thanks for sharing your youth pictures with us Gita. You were stunning. My favorite was the last one in bottom right corner. I loved the post and the smile on your face. You looked like you were having fun.
I am up early again today and starting to fight off the beginnings of a headache. I just typed something and then had to delete it. It was way too heavy to discuss while this thread seems to be on a very good and high roll. Won't bring anyone else down with it. I guess it is a lack of sleep again and the possibility of physical pain interfering with my day. Oh well, life goes on.
Will close now, but I am glad to have the newcomers here. They will enjoy themselves I am sure. I am fairly new myself and this thread has come to mean a lot to me. This is the first one that I read today upon rising, because I didn't want to run out of time.
It is Friday once again and I want to wish every one a great weekend.
Ruby
New friends/new friends..isn't it wonderful, our neighborhood just got bigger..will be checking my map at work and adding you to my 'dream route'..lol
Truly Jaye, these ladies will touch your heart...
It's raining this early morning, I've 2 swaps to mail out and wouldn't you know it's pouring down rain and I've left the boxes in the car, so out I go..
Just having my coffee, porridge, wrapping and labelling and off I go to work..it's our 4 hr. day so that's exciting..
Shar thanks for the list you prepared, group d-mailing? a bit out of my league, can't figure it out...
Clock is ticking so I'll not post to everyone, I will be back at 9 am though, nothing on my work agenda so can gab/gab/gab....
Love you all!
Morning!
Sharran so sorry about your friend. Love the group blast! About the goats when my head hurts I figured I'd typed in something weird. We did have a pet goat for a year and found it dead one morning! So you weren't far off.LOL
Ruby your Castor seeds I planted popped up the other day! I am so excited. Now I have to keep an eye on them so they don't get to tall for where I have them. So sorry you are having a hard time right now. Just letting us know that much we can send you well wishes. Hugs coming your way.
Laurie the picture of your daughter was fantastic. Can hardly wait to see the bracelet you ordered. I like rings. Give me something shiney and I am happy. LOL
Judy you have such great kids. Love hearing what they are up too. You also.
Liz we have someone high up coming to check the store next wed. On truck day of all days. We don't think we will be ready as the district manager keeps adding things.
Am waiting patiently to see your items done. Any raccoons yet? The new girl still working out fine?
Welcome Bev. If I don't mention much it also takes me awhile to figure out people. Beautiful pictures.
Today I have to go to work. But am cleaning house. Didn't get much done this week. When the sinus bother me it has to do with temps and atmospheric pressure. Conditions must of been right this week. Maybe I need one of those pressure tanks deep sea divers use to adjust? LOL
Have to go and get some breakfast. Hope to pop in again but who knows.
Best my head isn't hurting.
Worst was the head hurting.
What did I learn it does end. Yes I did know that but it is still good to know. LOL

were all bothered at work with sinus must be that time of year take care of yourself
I'm finally settled in for the morning, just after posting this morning Suzanne called to say she was ready to leave, bit early but that ok..torrential rain all the way till we got to the city, drizzling here..we stopped off a family restaurant just down the street and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast...so funny, just pulling into the parking lot and Paul was ahead of us, Suzanne dropped me off at front door and said run for it, get settled before he makes it to the office, so like a fool I grab the elevator, open the door, run from room to room putting the lights on, turned my t.v. on, hung my coat, sat back in my chair with coffee in hand, Suzanne makes it in, no Paul, guess he stopped for coffee in the caf. so he came in and said 'wow girls you are early at it' lol..that's us - model employees...can joke around like that when it's a family business!!!
He goes to see the specialist this aft. with regards to possible surgery for his pinched nerve, Wayne,he's off today Dr.'s appt, Suzanne goes to chiropractor tonight - result of when the tractor trailor hit us, Lee-Ann waiting for appt. to get her goitter (?) operated on, me I'm waiting for May 14th appt. - should look for a doctor here in the office complex..save everyone a lot of time off for appts...groups bookings...lol..
Ruby, never a time sweetie that you can't let us know you are going through terrible times, always better when we're on an up to be able to offer support..hope your day is improving...saying and sending prayers for your needs...as for the seeds, have them wrapped in wet paper towels in ziplock bag, with they germinate I think I have enough large pots to put them in then I can just move them around where they look the nicest..do you think that would work or should they be in the ground..I'm so excited about them..
OMG Vicki, can relate to weather pressure bringing on headaches..I've no migraine today (thank goodness) but a little pain over my left eye, started yesterday aft. so sure sign that bad weather was upon us...
what do you think happened to your goat...poor soul...only once in all the breeding we did that we lost 1 and only reason for loosing it was mother goat spent the night laying on it after it's birth..we had one mother who insisted through 3 of her breedings NOT wanting to give milk, not wanting the goats around her..she was terrible..we had to make a unit that we put her head in and then tie one of her legs to a post just to milk her..she was not a good mother..gave up breeding her..
Shar, bet you cherish that painting..nothing like watching a student walk away with works of art when they thought they had no talent..of course I'm a firm believer that ANYONE can be artistic to some degree if only they'd try it..it's not because they cannot it's because they do not want to try in a lot of cases...no yelling at me, it's what I've seen from experience in teaching...a lot of 'I can't/I can't' only to find they can! what are your thoughts on that Shar....any news when Ethan will get to visit..think right now you need an 'Ethan' fix...
Well Bev and Jaye just added you to my map..know where you live..don't worry, not a stalker..lol..but I have a map in the office with stars where everyone lives..so far, I've gotten to meet Susan (101) while travelling to Florida in Dec. and Gillian (our most northern friend) came for a visit last summer and visited for a night with her family..was thrilling for me both times..Gillian is hoping to drop in again this summer so guess I treated them well...lol..we don't seem to have Round-ups as most of you do in your areas, maybe because no one has organized one, but, Carol (Starzz) lives about 1 1/2 to 2 hr. drive from me so one day, with gps turned on I'm going to visit her and enjoy her lovely gardens...might make it on a Friday aft. as I'm already in the city and it would be quicker from her and then travel home after my visit..so Carol, be forwarned..a visit is coming soon...I'll call and arrange it before hand, not to worry, no spur of the moment 'drop-in' visit...
Liz, I bought another glass bit as well a few weeks ago..lordy I wish you lived closer, we could work on the project together..maybe it's something I could work on here and there IF this rain continues as predicted..I did hear Liz that you should put something damp under the piece of glass so it doesn't heat up and break..you'll have to let me know if you tried that...as for the beading, are you making your own or are you purchasing strings i.e. necklaces at the $$$ stores?
Judy, congrts to Julia and you of course for raising such a 'sweetie'..know those tears well, dry them up and look forward to the new achievements not yet realized, and of course, in years to come taking the 'grandma' seat along with the rest of us...
Leave you with:
In just two days, tomorrow will be yesterday. Life is
less confusing when we just chose to live in the now
where tomorrow is tomorrow and yesterday was yesterday
Noticed on last nights' flyer that Norm's Nursery in Midland has great sales on, so might drop in on my way home...
So, as with most Fridays I sit and ponder at what I'd like to see accomplished over the weekend..today is no different...I work best with goals in mind (providing the rain doesn't continue as heavy)
.. get mom's Mother's Day gift organized..did the gazebo birdfeeder for her as well as a set of stained glass butterflies..know she wants her 3 piece pond set in the ground so will make arrangements for SIL and I to go and get it done...
.. if 'top soil' hasn't arrived I'll pick up some bags at the nursery and start working on my DG Friendship garden, ready to do some planting before the seedling die..(don't worry I'll cover them with plastic)
..try to do the 2 arbors out of left over gazebo black rod iron
..install the mailbox which will house my garden tools/gloves and paint the base
.. prep the project I'm doing for the red/white and blue 'swap'
.. visit to Carol's house on Sat. to go through painting supplies/wood pieces
.. start my 'secret swap' gift for this exchange.....
So if I manage to accomplish the above, I'll be a 'happy camper'
Close up of a bloom cluster....Soon the earlier blooms will start dropping off-WHOLE! I pick them apart--petal by petal--dry them and add them to my Potpourri box. All the Tulip petals are already in there. Will take apart my Lilac blooms as well when they start wilting. Not much blue in my Potpourri--so it will look nice.....
Would like to talk but is storming and sever this evening so will say hi to all and God bless. Will talk to all tomorrow. BEV
Those plants are spectacular Gita..love the Bob Hope camellia..I must try to remind myself as the flowers in my garden are spent to save the seeds for next year and get the petals into a potporrie box...
Sorry to hear about your 'storm' Bev..know they say that the bad weather we are getting is coming up from the east coast of USA...don't mind the rain but sure don't like the fireworks (thunder/lighting)!
Well got through the first one. It wasn't bad at all but sure did look ominous for a while there.
Gita your camellia is beautiful!! I just had one of my girlfriends move back to Maryland after 40 odd years, She lost her husband 2 yrs ago and has a son and 5 sisters out there so I do not blame her but sure do miss her and her two sweet doggies.
Ruby, I hope your headache is gone. I used to have terrible migrains but got rid of a lot of stress and take orphenadrine with cafeen in it. Was taking two a day for a couple of years then have worked my way down to about two a month thank God. We are all here for you you know!!
Can't go out to the garden and do anything so am trying to put stuff away and I do mean STUFF!! I do not know where it all comes from but the more I get rid of the more I have. I think all this Stuff has babies when I am not looking. TEE HEE!!
I have so many plants and seeds to get in the ground. Oh! Well I have the month of May.
Well gotta go will talk later. You all have a good day. LOVE ALL BEV
WhooooHoooooo!
I have a not so secret Secret Pal, and I wanted you to know. When Heavenscape joined us, I had already made the blast and the list and it was done, but it had worked out again that I was leftover, which is fine with me because I enjoy matching up people, even if a bit randomly.
Anyway, I D Mailed Jaye and told her the story, and told her that I was a leftover, but if she wanted to, she and I could be Secret Pals.....then she came up with the "not so secret" for us.....SO!!! How fun!!
Thank you, Jaye.
Ruby I will answer your question about students next time, I am but a step away from a thunderstorm right now. Need to shut down for a little while.
Hugs, Shar
Bev, look at those adorable little ones posing in their Sunday best garbs..do you get to visit with your friend? Does she have internet access that allows you to talk from time to time..internet makes the world so much smaller, one can always keep in touch..you've got me laughing at your items having babies, does seem that way at times..looked around the house this morning and although it's clean I do need to dust and tidy just a bit, so with the bad weather here for the weekend it just might be tonight.. I usually get into the habit of doing something artsy while sitting with t.v. on....if I get up each and every time a commercial comes on and only for the duration of that commercial I'm always amazed at the amount of work I've accomplished...so tonight that's my goal....
Gita, glad you offered to help that dear soul, nothing worse than trying to get out of a bad situation and there is nowhere to go..you are her 'earthly angel'..might be good for both of you to have each others company from time to time...
So glad you can join the swap with us Shar..hope the storm passes you by...by the sounds of talking with everyone or lurking on threads, weather is much the same across USA and Canada...
Yes I can keep in touch by puter or phone thank goodness.
I forgot to tell Gita that Mary Ann moved to Preston. Bet you know where that is!!!
It is so still and quiet out it scares me. The Lords will ----be done!!!!
Got some of the cutest little hostas from E Garden co-op today. Can't hardly wait to make a bed for them. I have a girlfriend in OK. May send her a couple of them. I do not have enough, Just 200 babies in the house and 300 outside!!!
Do you see the Lord praying in the garden??? Hugs BEV
Bev, love the stone, is it a faux stone, light in weight..I purchased one for a 'swap' I'm on yesterday I'm almost tempted to keep it, think I could?
Is it the calm before the storm? hope not!
My sister reminded me the other day that we will make faux rock flower containers...it's done with newspaper, cement and a few more ingredients..she sent me the recipe as a reminder..perhaps Sunday would be a good day if it's raining..must ask what she's doing..would get her out of the house...lol...
Well it's 1:11 and we should have left at 1:00 but Suzanne has a client, think their name contains every letter in the alphabet in their name, see that they aren't totally understanding what she's trying to tell them even though they brought an interpreter...Suzanne has an appt. at 3:00 up north for a massage, if we soon don't get out of here she'll not make it...
It's not raining right at this moment, but the trees are swaying, winds coming up and the north sky is awfully black, so guess we'll enjoy some of what you are having...
OMG you have 200 baby hostas - got to go back and read in case I made an error..yep that's what it says, and 300 outside..you are a good companion for Carol, she collects hostas as well...you are right, ship a few to your girlfriend, you'll never miss them...lol
Good Morning Everyone,
Yes, yes, Raining...
Oh wonderful solution ladies, So happy you both get to be in the Secret Pal fun.
THANK YOU SHAR!! LOL Thelma, is so excited already txted first thing in AM...HAHA, I can practically see her jumping up and down. HUH imagine she is not telling me either...So in retaliation, neither am I! and nah, nah to her too.
Ruby, Sweet Friend of ours. You can come and tell us anything you need to, or not.
But just know we are here with arms wide open and lots of shoulders when you need us.
That is the beautiful relationship we share. Now I know you know the Power of prayer,
I’ll to hold you in mine.
Sharon, You too, in my thoughts and prayers.
Jaye, Hello and welcome! Was it you, that said your stuff is having babies? ROFL that is so funny.
Bev, Nice stone, I do see the lord praying…is that coreopsis? So pretty!
Oh my gosh, I have got to tell you…Hahha, talk about having a blond moment,
We got construction zone on a good portion of my route. So, had to take a little detour,
Now this is not the first day but, uhhh Dyslexia kicked in and guess who got lot on the way to work, yep…Ended up on some street heading in the slightly wrong direction, but with the help of my lil compass I figured out which way was the right way, LOL…
But now that I know where I am going…have taken the same route and just might stick with it. On this route there is a small park for children to play and on the other end, is a
Huge neighborhood garden!! Oh my how grand to see people out tending the little sections. So I guess getting lost isn’t such a bad thing either. Now if I don’t show up to work, you can guess where I did get lost! Shhh, not telling location either.
Oh Gita, How nice that you will have a house friend. Especially someone you know.
How wonderful you have givin her an opportunity to live with some peace. I hope that it all works out. …Love all the flowers.
Betty, You had me giggling out loud with your rush to beat Paul this morning. LOL, I do that sometimes before Dh gets home, or he will think all I did was play on computer. Which of course, well pleading the 5th. LOL.
Want to thank you all, for all of the support you have given and continue.
Ok..so you know, I raised the living bird feeder to detour the squirrels, right? So to my amazing eyes what did I find this morning? I am telling you, Those little rascals are just determined little (&*%$%) buggers!! Eh, hem…won’t take a hose, or lemons to them, but man if I didn’t go out there and chase him off, making loud smack on pole…scared the thing right out and he Flew to the ground! It’s 6 ft!! So now I will sit guard and find out how the heck it got up there, which probably jumped from the wood pile so, you bet that is going to disappear…THIS WEEKEND.
Oops, got to go! See you all in a bit!
Will make the rest of my post.
Hi Bev,
I am Carol..aka..'Starzz'
I have about 64 different varieties of Hosta now. I have been collecting for 10 years..just buy a few each year to add to the garden to expand. That is a lovely hosta..what is the name please? You must grow from seed do you?
Betty is 'Bettypauze' ..artist, and Master Craftswoman, pie maker...with many other talents too.
I went to vist a friend today in Oshawa. I picked up 20 bags of topsoil that was on sale at a farm supply store near me. Then stopped at two garden centres looking for a Joseph's Coat climbing rose. I found one at the second place.
I am thrilled! I have had one in mind for two years now. It loks nice and healthy too.
Bye for now,
Carol
Carol, did you read how many baby hosta's Bev has in her house..wow...you two will have a lot in common learning and exchanging photo's of hostas..did want to go nursery plant hopping this aft. but didn't turn out..maybe this weekend...
Judy, put those tunes on low, stop the singing and pay attention to where you are going, unless of course you take a detour to Canada..April's gone and May is upon us..still hoping..spent time again today looking at my office DG map on the wall, Paul (boss and BIL) gets a kick out of me..I'm always checking the map out but never go anywhere he says...one day I'll surprise him...anyway, from all the pretty dots I've put on it, it divides the map in 3rds...half of you are on the east coast, almost all the rest are in the middle and then a few of you on the west coast... one day I'll throw a dart at it and see where I'm travelling to..lol
Ended up working until 2:30 - should have been home by then so it's now 5pm and I've just had my bath, did a bit of groceries, you'll never believe this, I love yams and balogna..so there's a meal..no cooking - just micro..
Sitting her in my jammies trying to figure out if I go to the couch with at least 100 books, sit and gaze through them get ideas, a few are decorative painting garden things so might be something for my 'secret pal' or do I prep the pieces I have for my next 'red/blue/white' swap...
Bought some grapes, made jello last night..I'm trying girls, so have some treats..picked up my income tax..she says I get just over $750.00 back - we'll see, gmt's bound to find an error lol...
What to do, what to do????
Ahhhh....unusual for me, but the couch has won out..deal is I'm up bright and early tomorrow and do the prep work before I go galavanting with the girls...
I'll be back to say goodnight though...
That host is Gold Standard with too much sun. I have another one that gets total shade. I will send the pic. This last winter is the first try at growing from seed. They are growing but very slow. I need to get them outside and let them get used to weather. I do not have luck with any rose up here except knockout which I got two red ones from my friend that moved. Thanks BEV
afternoon all,
bev, omg who are those adorble fury's oh i just want to pinch them on the cheek!!
shar, how cool is that you and jaye s pals. oh psssst isnt she being a brat shhhhh she might see this.
betty, you told didnt you lol!!
no sooner did i get on the highway 5 minutes into driving phone went off to find out he was finished for the day so we have been running around now that he is pleanty over stuffed he will be out for the count soon then i can go out and play in the garage, sponge.. yes im going to try a sponge under the glass and see what happens got to go change and get busy lol, i have a bunch of beads you know the ones you have no use for but cant think of what todo with them lol.
gita, what beautiful blooms you have in your yard
quick everyone duck i have some lemmons to throw lol
This message was edited May 2, 2008 2:27 PM
lol Liz you are just too funny for words..you'll have to put DH to bet and sneak out..
As for the sponge, don't know if I'd actually use a sponge, sponge, you know those spongy shammy type cloths, think that's what I'll use..think a sponge would have too much give and the glass would crack....
PSSSST...I'll try to come and check up on you quietly during the night to see how you are making up...
Lordy was heading for the couch, saw I had a d-mail with regards to how you make stepping stones using left over glass, lol..I've probably confused her to bits..but, the first one I'm making will be Shar's..remember the beautiful red/maroon picture she sent me, so maybe I can take photo's - step by step and she can follow along..we'll see...I rambled and rambled, but maybe the poor girl knows how to decypher...
So now I'm off to the couch, fluffy blanket in hand, books next to me, pillow fluffed and ready for a night of leisure...we'll see how long that lasts...lol any bets...
Goodness, It lookes like everyone went to bed early. Sounds like a pretty good idea!! The strong storms missed us this evening but I want to say that my heart goes out to all the people in Ark. that lost thier homes and loved ones. God Bless and have a good nite all. HUGS BEV
Has been storming here off and on since about 3 pm...
Scary, and you know how much I hate to be alone in t'storms....
The cats and I are thinking about going under the bed. Here comes another one.
Geesh.
Oh Shar, had to come for my nightly visit and here you are, having yet another storm....know they frighten you..have you candles ready incase your hydro goes out, am sure you are well prepared after all the storms you've been experiencing..friend had a great idea..said to bring in a few of your solar lights rather than use candles, much safer...
Bev, haven't listen to the news this evening, thanks for the info, will turn on the news...
It's pouring rain here but no thunder or lightning although the wind is up..rather than toss and turn on the couch I'll head off to bed and call it a day...
Will say a few prayers for everyone, may you all stay 'safe'...
Evening all. I must match id to names..so bear with me.
I admire all your writing skills. Beautifully written narratives, more like prose. Unfortunately the life I had before as an S.O.P writer made me too 'efficient' with my words and mostly instructional. I cannot hold extensive adult convos in real life, unless it involves such sentences like...'please ensure all electric source are turned off before assembling'.
Thank you again for your very warm welcomes.
howdie and welcome just in case i missed anyone...
phew been cleaning! hate that... lol
feeling good and getting on.....
started my quilt and i have made two flowers so far. u know using like 6 hexagons and sewing them together with one in the middle? yeah... so i will post a pic for your appraisel...
got my SP so looking forward to that...
cheers for now
xx
Dawn the yard is beautiful, all that effort is now giving you joy..love the little rocker, how cute...I am so envious with I see roses, I've never had a plant that has given me one rose let along the multitudes that you have...
Bet it's lovely just walking out, snipping a few for the table..for me, I just stop in on Friday aft.'s and pick myself up a few doz...lol might try again, I'm bound to success if I try enough times..looks as though one of yours is a climber - correct?
Jaye that's so funny...maybe you can hire yourself out to write instruction manuals..good buck in that...lol
Vicki, your headache gone?
Laura, you just don't know 'sweetie' how it brightens my day to hear you so cheery and out doing things..you had us worried, but that's ok, friends worry about friends...looking forward to seeing your pieces..the hexagon isn't the easiest to start with....guess you got your sewing machine all set up properly, not giving you any more trouble?
Well it's early, you know me, promised myself if I enjoyed the couch last night that I'd be up and at it this morning...
Have some prep work to do right?
The girls will be here at 9:30 to venture out to Carole's, it's just in the next little town, 5 minutes away so shouldn't be gone that long..will break my heart to see her gardens she worked so hard on last year, her beautiful home with all her hand painted furniture, her talent in decorating, and she no longer...her DH kept all her supplies (she owned a shop) know he sold quite a bit but wants us to go see if there is anything we might want...he's the one that sent me over 100 new bottles of paint awhile back..
After that my time is free game..I'm actually going to put the outdoor plants back outside..that hanging basket I bought for the frame is looking, plug your ears Gita, "pretty sick"...bought things much too early, but like all of you I was anxious to see some beauty..
Lordy, Sailor is laying next to me and her tummy is grumbling and making strange noises..better get her outside.
Maybe I'll take a few photo's of what's coming up..remember it was only 3 weeks we had mega snow...so no flowers yet...
be back..
Morning all,
Welcome to Heavenscape...what does S.O.P. stand for? Is it instruction manuals as Betty mentions.
I just took a walk around out back..Thinking about where I will plant my new Rose. The sun is shining and two groups of runners have come down the road already..looking all trim and fit and happy.
Dawn your roses are lovely..I especially like the red one. So many blooms. In your xerisape the shades of gray and greens is soothing.
Betty this morning I am thinking of another Betty. She is a sweet elderly lady who has specializes in Hostas at her Happy Hollow garden.. I visit at least once every year. It is the most beauitful natural garden with a stream running through and iron sculptures here and there. Several of my hostas have come from her. I always hold my breath when I go there till I see her..hoping nothing has happened to her. She had cancer a couple of years ago but came through ok. She lives with her daughter and SIL on the property and he does the heavy work.
This is Betty in 2003 at Happy Hollow. One day when you can come to visit, I will take you there when the Hostas are in full growth. It is only 15 minute drive from me. She has hostas potted up for sale and a few perennials. but seeing the mature hostas in the natural setting is wonderful.
Have a great day everyone...oops..it is clouding over..they do predict rain for today..
Hi everyone. Here is another Sat.
Got to go to a meeting of our camp asso.and pay the dues. If it is not too wet and muddy we might put the battery charger on the rider and see if we can get her going. She is so old and tired. I am going to hire someone to mow those 5 lots. I just about had a stroke doing it the othe day with the push mower. There are just some things that you have to give up as you get older. Hate that!!!! I love lifting huge boulders and rearranging things. DUH!
Hope I can get some more plants in the ground and maybe get my waterfalls going today, We will see.
Talk to you all later. Sharon I hope the storms are gone now. Hugs BEV
Wake up!! It's spring!!
The cats and I survived, as did my iris and roses, pansies took a beating, though. Thanks for all the good thoughts coming my way.
Happy Derby Day, y'all....
