This is, so far, my most favorite "accidental" bulb combo...I just wish they were about 6" bigger so I didn't have to lean over to really see them...lol...

Spring Blooms - Part 5
I know this isn't a bloom per se, but it's music to my eyes...lol. Here is one of the 3 Hosta I bought from Naylor Creek. I didn't want to take pics of them when I got them, because they were essentially root clumps with a smidge of green...the other 2 are just starting to leaf out in their pots...but, for those of you not to familiar with Hosta, here is Hosta 'Allegan Fog'....
Nice shots Allison and Thom!
Thom what are the little yellow flowers in the right front bed?... phlox?
Beautiful pics everyone.
Thom, I love the bed. Very pretty!
I have to check out Letchworth State Park - it looks beautiful!!!
Anyone else have the other bleeding hearts - Diecentra formosa? They're real nice. Don't peter out like the regular ones. Have nice fern-like foliage and make a nice ground cover. I'll get some photos tomorrow.
Victor, I bought one a couple years ago - very small, haven't looked for growth this year - forgot about it.
Victor I have them 2 years this fall. they are just going up now. never have seen them bloom yet.
New thread...

Victor I have 3 .... and they might be on there third season now... not impressive up to this point... they were tiny in the past... lets see how the "leap" year goes
My limited experience with Bleeding Hearts is .....shade, shade, shade with some mulch if possible. PH about 5.5 which is about our natural PH. My horrific two plant crop is overgrown by a huge Trumpet Vine. No or very little sun gets under there where year after year they appear as if to say....."just let us alone in our bliss". :) They have been there unattended outside of the last falls leaves that are sharing space with pine needles for more than forty years.

fun videos, redchic! I have lots of hummers here in NH, but NEVER do they share a feeder. The tyrant hummer won't let anyone else even think about landing on a feeder when he is in view of it. He even positions himself in a tall maple tree so that he can watch the feeders on two sides of the house. He shoots down like a rocket when any other hummer approaches one of the feeders. Today a little baby arrived and was so cute. He was sitting side-saddle on the perch. The tyrant hummer should be showing up from Guatamala any day now.
Deb - those are lovely photos. We love Buttermilk Falls......enjoyed all of your pics!
Thom - very nice shots of your spring color and your pretty bed. I really like how you mixed so many different textures in that bed.
Louise
There just always has to be one tyrant in the bunch to spoil it all huh?!! I'm glad that my pack leader actually think that it is his pack and not just his food. The little one sounds really cute. Maybe you can get a picture? I've never seen one sit side saddle.! Hop on over to spring blooms 8! It will likely be spring bloom 9 in the next day or so.
