Water Cooler - 7

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

sorta like "toad in a hole"?LOL :)

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Quoting:
Amy, the show must go on but you can only tart for so long. Then you have to top.

That made me laugh.
Then i actually got it, and i REALLY laughed.
Yes, i agree. Every other response that comes to mind would probably get me kicked off here...

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Ah, the things you hear around the water cooler!
And the things you learn.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

When the tart is more crust than fruit, it's time to top...

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Biting my tongue.
i think i know some of all the above...

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Does anyone else look at the flower for the day on Bloom.com at the bottom of your home page? It is my understanding that the picture is picked by how many times it was clicked on and looked at by DG memebers. Has anyone noticed that for the last 14 day only 2 pictures have NOT been Galanthophile?? Does anyone else find this peculiar???

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I normally don't. One of the changes I don't like on DG is not seeing the photo itself on the homepage. And yes - I have wondered about how they pick it. I have seen a number of times when the same person had many photos featured in a short time.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Whenever you look at a PF pic, it says "Nominate this picture for Bloom.com?"
i figured people just got lots of friends to nominate them?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

12 out of 14 days...good bunch of buddies!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

There should be a better method.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Talk to da man. You know which one I mean. Da man - dat one. Dmail him.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Well, I for one am SHOCKED that DG has pictures of a galanthophile.
I thought this was a family oriented website.
You never know, there COULD be a galanthophile living in your neighborhood.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

heeheehee...

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

The fact that you mistook this for a family oriented site shows you've not been coming around enough. However, due to your vigilance, and my innate ignorance, I am off to Plant Files to see if we have any of these detested galanthophiles lurking in our neighborhood.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

titter titter....

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Galanthophiles are indiscriminate in their associations.......I hear.

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Why the heck didn't you say snowdrops? Goodness, we hardly get any of the white stuff down here, but we have seen snowdrops. Galanthophiles! My word!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Sorry . . . I have been very busy this spring, so I haven't read every entry in this thread in detail

Victor: What JR Rowling trial????

Crocs rock . . . I got my first pair in Calgary 2 summers ago - haven't been without a pair since! But mine are boring. . . brown, navy, black - that sort of thing. Not brave enough to wear pink, yellow, or orange.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Plagiarism trial. Someone is planning an encyclopedia type book and she claims in her suit that it is nothing more than lifted text.

Is this the Harry Potter Encyclopedia?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

It's not published - the trial is still going.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I am a Croc addict. I wear mine every day. They make my back feel better. They're very supportive. I don't garden in them though. They're not sturdy enough to handle all the digging. I usually wear slip on rubber mocs from LL bean. They're indestructable.

I used to wear those - when I could wear human shoes. I had the lace-up LL Bean boots, and in my youth, i thought they were fashionable, in my way. (But some of the things I thought were fashionable were pretty hideous!)

Hi everyone! I am so far behind on this thread. It hasn't been showing up on the new posts on the home page for some reason so I didn't check it out. I'm sorry I missed all of the goings on for the past couple of weeks, but am thankful all seems to be going well again. Candyce - glad Sean is OK. I'm a bit overwhelmed and stressed myself - so much to keep up with: Colin, Colin, Colin, housework, gardening, spring projects I've planned, laundry, grocery shopping, and sometimes even sleeping!!! Eleanor:

LOL ~ Welcome back to the thread, and thanks for the good wishes about Sean. How is Mr. Colin doing lately?

I know what you mean about being caught up in the every day stuff. I try to set aside an hour or so every day just to check out DG and see how my friends are doing, but it doesn't always happen. Today, however, Little Miss "M" has decided that playing with her toys is more fun than sitting on grandma's lap with the computer. Well, for now, that is ...

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I was just reading a thread about our Debbie (rcn48). Her dog Phoebe has been sick. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/829490/

Anyway, she asked me to say hello to everyone here and that she'll be back to chat once things settle down in her life.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Harper - I was aware of that. The dog is improving slowly it seems.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Seems there is story every week about teens committing a crime, videoing it, and posted it on YouTube or some other video site. Obviously the police then have it much easier and they're usually caught. How dumb can they be?!! You would think they would have learned after hearing about the others.

Like the dumbest robbers. Some will break into a video camera store, the Ninnys.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

And a lot of kids as well as adults, will go to any levels for attention, positive or negative doesn't matter, as long as they get attention.

Sad.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Too true.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Don't get me started!
Happy Cinco de Mayo, y'all!

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Me either ! It makes my blood boil when I see those videos. The fact that they even get aired is what amazes me.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I guess the cops want them shown so the idiots can be identified.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Every village must have its idiot, I guess.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

My village has a plethora of such idiots !

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, there will never be a shortage.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

You're all always good for a smile after a day of work!!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

We sent ours to Washington.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Good one, Dave!!
