Scattelogical ramblings and desultory humor - Daffy Time
Good one, Amy
Ok excuse the Giant part, just taller than me hahaha, Clemen
Yes, that was good, but actually I do. Life is short; why not taste?
Laurel
Edit to...Life is brief.
But lovely, live it up to the last minute, Enjoy! We are just passing by in this world........
It was the philosophy of the Epicureans to: Eat, Drink, and be Merry for tomorrow you may be dead.
I think they all are now.
Pffffft!
You are too funny, but you are right. I haven't seen any around in awhile.
Laurel, you said "Wisteria is in full bloom with dogwoods". Up here, mine are just budding, can't wait!
Whew!
I finally caught up to the end of this thread!
The weather was too good yesterday to stay indoors, so we were outside for quite a bit ... doing the grocery shopping, getting the last bits of memories out of my departed ex-husband's home ... visiting baby Sean in the hospital ... pulling some gunk off of the main flower bed.
Today ...
Sean's still in the hospital.
I forgot my old cookbooks at the ex's house.
He hadn't changed a thing in the last ten years. All of the decor I had hung and left was still there and all in the same place where I left it. Creepy!
It looks like rain.
Brunch is almost ready to be pulled from the oven.
Not creepy, Candyce, just a guy thing, I think. My opinion is that most men don't notice, and don't care about, decor.
I agree. Most of them feel everything is always fine and wonder why we want to change a thing.
No wonder Oprah thinks Nate Berkis is such a find -- he is!
Sorry to mess up the theory, but I've always done the decorating, paint choosing, curtain selection, etc.
OMG there is a downside to having Nate as a husband, I think we all know what that is.
I don't think Nate has a wife -- female anyway.
Some people don't need a wife but I wish I had one. She could do the cooking, cleaning and laundry while I plant lilies and do gardening.
But, Victor, we all know you are an exceptional Renaissance man, and those are hard to find! Fortunately for me, I found one too!!!
Pirl, I said the same thing to my mom one time, and she replied, Honey, you don't want a wife, you want a maid.
pam
From what I've heard maids don't flip mattresses or do windows. So I'm back to wanting a wife of my own and, no, I won't share her with anyone.
Oooh! I want a wife too! Maids don't rub feet either!
Laurel and Pam, wow, what beautiful homes. I would be right at home in both of them. Beautiful fireplace Laurel - the cat was a great addition to the warmth of the picture, too!
Just 5' 1 1/2" here.
Harper
'Maid' elicits a different image for me. I'm a shorty too - 5' 7".
Don't tell me you're thinking of the typical French Maid, Victor, with the black fishnet nylons, heels, short skirt, etc.
Oh she wouldn't be merely typical...
Ahhhh, ha ha ha!
Guess I'm going to have to stick my fingers in my ears and go LA LA LA again...
BTW I've got two inches on Victor. :)
pam
I had a beautiful female border collie with black and white markings. I always thought she looked like a French maid, so elegant standing on her little white paws. From the back they walk as if they are walking in the highest heels.
That's height, right Pam?
Victor!
Victor!!!
You're too good!
"good"????
Who said anything about height???
It's all a matter of perspective, Harper.
Huh??? Two Inches of What???
LA LA LA LA LA LA LA.....
I used to be 5' 2", but my latest physical said, "No More, Honey!" Now I'm 5' 1", and I am also no longer the weight that goes with either or those heights. LOL Victor - you would tower over me! And I don't think 5' 7" is a "shortie".....unless, of course, your wife is 6' 1". I am the only one in my family under 6 feet. Both girls are over 6', DH is 6' 2" and DS is 6' 3". Oh well. So be it! ^_^
DonnieBrook: You are a "used to be" also.
I guess we are becoming a population of remnants!
I heard if you do Pilates c onscientiously you can get that inch back.
I don't know if they get it from someplace else.
No my wife is 5' 1". We have this running joke about the annual Carrano picnic. You had all these Italians, none of whom exceeded my height. We said we could have set up a plywood 'ceiling' at the gathering, set at about 5' 8" and everyone would comfortably walk around!
Well your spine does compress with age, so any 'traction' type of stretch/exercise might help.
Gloria - "you got that right!" That just means I need to start cutting one more inch off of pants when I hem them! LOL
