What's blooming in April III

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Don't worry as I just found out that we will have our Mother's Day Sale in the big mall where we have already had it for years. (New owners so we didn't know until today)

I can hardly wait to empty the shelves and start all over. It won't be until May 10th so I will have time to get out 'stuff'.

South, TX

Oh, I didn't know. That is great news about the mall sale! YEAH!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Grab those leaves you really want, Sally............before the sale. The last sale I forgot to grab av leaves, but I didn't forget to grab a strep leaf from each plant........

South, TX

I have nothing to sell. But, I love to see what everyone else has!

South, TX

Just took new pics of my main shelves. I have some plants in my sunroom shelves also.

That is the fun! Grow grow grow so you can sell it and get more leaves and plants to grow... My shelves are cram packed but not all looks good enough to sell, I promise.
I was surprised today when the postal lady called to say I had a box. Here were over 50 leaves I had order of avs but wasn't expecting until the end of next week.
They are all stuck and marked on the last shelf tonight!

No. I just like to collect the ones I want. So far anyway.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

REally pretty variegated foliage and your blooms are opening up big time.

South, TX

I LOVE that Suomi! I am sure you can find a doorprize! Just don't give anything you want to keep.

They are very happy inside and under the new lights. The new lights shocked a couple, but most loved it. I didn't know to work UP to more hours....Coming from smaller lights and being in the sunroom. Poor girls! I could have really hurt them, but they were patient!

Here is a new one of Ma's Corsage.

I love Ma's Corsage. I have an old tired plant and can't decide to start a new crown and leaves or just start the new crown for Ma's Corsage. She is one of my favorites.

I can't post pictures as my batteries are dead and I can't find the battery charger. It will show up somewhere sometime soon, I hope.

South, TX

I hope you can find it! I could not upload my pics for several days. My cord died. I bought a memory card adaptor and will order a new cord. I hated not being able to see my pictures.

Beautiful plant stands Sally! So organized and your plants all look soo perfect. Really Lovely!

Oh, Ma's Corsage is a pretty one, I just love variegated foliage both with pink and white variegation! That is one really nice looking plant!

Looking back at your pic's ... I realize how organized they are too ... all labeled so nicely! I should take some lessons!

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Wow all the plants are just beautiful... I am resting as I just ran around town and boy did we have a storm... It has been so hot and how they are saying we may have snow flurries on Monday... Can't make up it mind...LOL
I am going to pot up some Av's and some Episcias I believe Nancy told me they were.... So will post some more later... Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend...
Hugs,
Susan

We are supposed to be at 87 degrees here today and Monday night it's supposed to be low 40's ... I don't think we've ever had temps that low this time of year - not in the 41 years I've been in Florida anyway! The weather sure is changing everywhere!

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

It's supposed to be close to freezing here tonight! After all those almost 90 degree days! Had some storms roll through a couple days ago and ever since it's been cooler, now freezing tonight. I'm ready for summer!

South, TX

So pretty down here. We went to the Botanical Garden sale today. Went to Home Depot too. WOW, pretty orchids there. YEP, Fred bought one, ha. Cool today, but sunny, not as cool as other places for sure. I love each day because I know the humid summer is coming....YUCK.

(Zone 1)

We had a high of 89 here today! Very warm! There's apparently a cold front that will be coming all the way to Florida early next week! It's the same one that's dumping more snow in Minnesota and other places. We are supposed to have a low of 40 on Monday night! That is sooo unusual for us in April! I am hoping the predictions are wrong and that it doesn't drop that low. My orchids are all hanging in the Schefflera tree in the back yard and I am not moving plants back inside again!

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

I can't wait for my plants to go outside. And I don't think they can either- I can almost hear them groaning wanting to stretch out their arms and say ahhh...more room and fresh air!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

This is where I enjoy the summers. That heat and humidity Sally is talking about happens for sure. But those horrible winds I complain about during the early spring knocking the hoyas out of the trees on the ground, still gently blow all summer out in the country.

You have it better during the other parts of the year Sally in Corpus but I can sit on my front porch anytime during the summer and get that southeast breeze (instead of wind) all summer.

Bummer as I can't take photos.........still can't find the battery charger (LOL) and I am out of AA regular batteries for the camera.
Think I will find a picture from this past year just so we can have photos.
**Let's go down memory lane, Lin, with all those minis I found in CC last spring. I so wish I had kept them even though they had no names.

They were so pretty Gail. Well, it was windy today, but as long as it is still cool I don't complain too much. My HAIR was wild though, ha. I wear a ponytail ALLLL summer. I like fall/ winter. I can wear my hair down. I just got an inch and a half off yesterday.

My husband had to go out of town this afternoon, back soon. Anyway, I was sitting on the patio with old AV mags from Deanna. WOW, there is so much to learn in them. Had my little pets with me.

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

Gail- Your favorite is my favorite too! Blooms look pink and green- is that right?
The little mini AVs I have- would they actually be called miniatures or what size? That's what they're called from the company we get them from. The pots they're in are probably 1.5" It's the ones I posted when I got the little ceramic watering can pots. If I need to post the pic again let me know.

(Zone 1)

Oh, Gail .... Thanks For The Memories! Those mini's and semi-mini's were all soooo gorgeous! I LOVE that second one with the fantasy bloom and aaah yes, that little purple flowered one! I wish I still had mine. I don't remember ever seeing a picture of that one with the Red bloom ... beautiful she is! Oh, I can picture a stand with nothing but those beautiful mini's and semi mini's on every shelf!

(Zone 1)

Yeah, Diane .... please post the pic's again!

What a beautiful way to start a beautiful day :)
Gail, those mini's are SOOO sweet. But don't look back my friend.......we will have all kinds of minis soon :)
I know what you mean though, whether you give away, sell, or it dies......some plants we just miss once they are gone :(
Luckily there are ALWAYS beauties to replace them!
The snow is melting like crazy today and I actually think I might get outside for a bit today as the sun is shining and the birds are singing.

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

Kim
