Our threads get so long in a hurry. It is slow for me and I have a fast internet.
Now I have to go find a picture to start this thread.
Midnight Plum is really blooming right now.
What's blooming in April III
Oh my gosh! Snowrose sent me that plant and I killed it and had to have another funeral at my house. That is one of the prettiest plants of all. How are you taking care of it? I might order one if I knew how to keep it alive!
Thanks Gail..Got it from Robs about 3 or 4 years ago I think on his specials and its still kicking.Almost always in bloom.....I keep it in a mini terrarium along with sinn Rio d padres I got from Jannich and it Loves it in there! I sure wish it would get a sucker or something because I would sure share with you.Do you think you could start one from a leaf??
Nice Gail!!! You can sure tell the love your extra humidity....
I tried to grow them under the lights on my big shelves and they weren't happy campers like the avs. I have one african violet that is to 'die for' but she hasn't opened up yet........one bloom is trying to open........let me get a bad pic real quick.......
Heinz Unchanged is her name. Look at the size that bloom is going to be. There is a lady whose name is Jo in Victoria and she sells all these wonderful older violets. She does sell leaves on line but she only lives 70 miles from me and i want to make a trip to her house in May and buy some more of her plants. She was at our last sale and had a table set up. When I find her website, I will let you know.

I just looked up her site.........

Thanks I will check it out...
Nancy, that Pentadina bloom is adorable! And you're doing great with the Episcias, Gail! I've almost given up on those. They HATE my lack of humidity.
Gail, do you remember Ramblin' Amethyst that you sent me last summer? It was a tiny baby and had a rough trip. I sent you several pictures along and along as it grew so slowly. Well, it's still kickin' and I wanted you to see it. The color in this plant is absolutely amazing! No blooms, but it's beautiful, anyway.
Gail, do you recall that we discussed pinching out the top of a crown on a trailer to make it fuller? I pinched all the crowns on Indian Trail and boy is it filling out! Can you see all the new leaves coming in? I only pinched out the two newest leaves on each crown and look at all of them growing back to replace them!
Raingazer the Ramblin' Amethyst has the most beautiful coloration on it! Never seen one have that color on the leaves
Thanks, Diane! I'm growing it pretty close to the lights, so that might have something to do with it, but I really don't know. Seems like Snowrose was growing one that had beautiful coloration in the leaves and it was one of the Ramblin' ones, but I can't remember which. Might be that series is prone to colorful foliage.
Amy I can't believe it...blooms already on Bella..Wow you did a great job with her.I have had the big ol mama plant for 2 years and I am actually going to see my 1st blooms from her really soon..she is budding like crazy..can't wait..
Oh I just love all of your plants..Wow that is one Big Honkin' Sinningia..really neat looking and your orchids look marvelous....Yep that ramblin amethest has foliage excatly like the one I had from a trade with Gail..Loved that plant.. ..she was hidden behind some other plants on my shelf and I kept missing her when I watered..when I finally noticed it she was too far gone..I was a bad plant mommy with that one : (
Hi everyone,Just popping in for a minute to say Hi to you all.The pictures of the plants are beautiful.I have alot of catching up to do in the next few days.
Kim,what a great surprise package of strep seeds you sent to me.Thank you,we will have fun watching them grow and bloom.I will plant them today.
Amy,Ramblin' Amethyst is a beauty!
All I can say this morning is WOW........what AWESOME pictures!
You all have been SUCH great plant mommies!
Jannich, that little sinningia is just precious! Look at all those flowers :)
I'm SO happy to hear you received your seeds :) I can't wait to see what we all get :) It's going to be so much fun.
Jannich, I hope you are feeling better. You have been in my thoughts and prayers :)
Amy, that Dendrobium is breathtaking! What a sight to behold!
Kim
Amy, you have sinningia cardinalis 'Innocent' in bloom. The only reason I know is that you sent me a cutting of her. But jannich had sent me a plant of her and she is going to bloom the same colot. I am so happy your rambling amethyst is doing well.
Jan, I am dying to know how you grow those sinningias so big and what is her name??????????
What a neat orchid! I love having the good smellin' ones! I am watering ours today and I just can't stop sniffing.
That Ramblin' Amethyst is so pretty!
The Heinz Unchanged is going to be so pretty. No pic in the First Class. I will have to see yours.
I like to grow epecia's in bowls and vases too. They are like Jewels even more in glass.
Makes such a pretty presentation Sally..That is Beautiful! If you don't mind me asking..is that some kind of moss you have it planted in or do you just use your regular mix ?
That is spagnum moss since it is a Cleopatra.
Thanks Sally ..Beautiful..I was just about to ask her name... .: )
It is a very large glass bowl. She is big. I love that plant. I have two TEENY ones growing in another one.
Loving all these Bloomin Beauties you gal's are showing!
Amy: AV Ramblin Amethyst really does have striking foliage ... very nice! I need to go look that one up to see what the blooms look like. And, I love that Sinningia you showed, can't wait to see a pic of it when those blooms open!
Oh, I love Hoya bella ... that's one I don't have and have heard it's a bit difficult. I might have to order that one in the fall when the group does another David Liddle Co-op!
Jan: Aaah, that is one Gorgeous Sinn in your photo ... I too would love to know the name! You really can grow them! Gorgeous!
Sally: I love that Episcia Cleopatra ... so pretty. I too like growing them in containers. I have a couple that have grown out the tops of the glass jars - I need to do some repotting soon.
The only Episcia I've gotten to bloom is Pink Panther! And, it's only given one measly flower at a time until now ...I noticed this morning that it has multiple blooms for the very first time! I will have to post a picture tomorrow - the desktop computer is already shut down for the night and that's where my photo folders are! I know everyone is probably tired of seeing my E. Pink Panter, I've posted pic's of it quite a few times but never with more than one flower! I sure wish some of my other Episcia's would bloom!
Rain..........hit those plants with 1/4 tsp. of 12-36-14 on a consistent basis and you will have more bloom than you can imagine. Consistency seems to be the basis of most blooms.
Susan: Which Chirita is that? I Love your cup & saucer planter! Is that Chirita planted in there or just sitting down in the cup? Very pretty!
how pretty a chirita! Someone else chime in on identifying her. Looks maybe like Kazu , Star Dust???????????
I started running around with the camera and the camera displayed: Batteries exhausted just as I was getting started on the streps and other blooms.....bummer! I can't find my battery charger for the last two weeks.
Sinningia 'Party Dude' by Lyons is beginning to party (too much light.......she is darker than this)
coming back tomorrow when the computer will work better.........night ladies.......
