MitchF, Thanks. Jerry

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

No problem - sadly not tropical :-(

I know LouC sat a bunch of things out here too... everything of mine is still in pots so that will be simple to move them back inside... Are we really going down to 32??? I would do anything to stay about that mark...

Kimarj, the variegated bleeding heart vine is new. I bought it in Houston last weekend. I have had the plain green leaf red and white version of them for quite a few years. They are planted in pots with my bougainvillea standards plants and get a lot of sun, maybe your plant also needs more sun.
caladiums are coming up.

Tabebuia impetiginosa
(Purple Tabebuia)

First blooms on these trees are still scarce. Hope for more flowers next year. These trees are very fussy with the cold and the leaves turn all blotchy at the slightest hint of cold weather. Maybe as they get more mature that will change.

This morning's blue sky as seen from my front door. I just had to capture it.

My king sago reaching out to the bright sun. It's an amazing amount of new growth. What a little palm fertilizer can do along with a systemic insecticide.

Everyone has such gorgeous plants! I'm quite taken with the variegated bleeding heart vines. This is Sideroxylon salicifolium (Willow Bustic). Although it may not be particularly beautiful:

...it is native to Florida and when in bloom, it perfumes the air with the scent of grape jelly! This is a close up of a few of the tiny flowers that are just beginning to open:

This is a close up of another Florida native, Myrcianthes fragrans (Simpson's Stopper):

I'm not sure what this is. I thought it might be an Opuntia but it doesn't have spines. Anyway, I call it bunny! LOL I snapped the large piece off a huge plant that is growing over on Key Biscayne at a place called Jimbo's. I let it dry for about a week and then planted it. The two "ears" have grown over the past month:

I went to Lowes today to buy 16" planters and potting soil. I ended up buying 9 healthy plants for $1.00 each! The associate said something about "reset", "too much inventory", and "manager said to get rid of them." The only part that I really understood was when she said, "Get whatever you want, they're only $1.00 each!" Well, she didn't have to tell me twice! LOL I bought these three:

Is anyone growing the Cordyline terminalis 'Black Magic'? That is the plant in the back in the previous photograph. I wonder if it needs full sun in order to retain its' color?

I also bought 2 Tibouchinas with beautiful purple flowers:

Can I join all this fun?

Hap

Nashville, TN(Zone 7a)

Delecie-
I have my Black Magic in morning to early afternoon sun, partially screened by a Christmas Palm. They like it there. The tage said partial to full sun, but the ones I have in full afternoon sun are pretty scorched. They have all been planted this year. I am waiting it out.

Red Oak, TX

Happy_1, of course everyone is welcome, glad to have you. Everyone else is probably out in their yards covering up their tender tropicals. I know that I was.

Thank you terichris. It's a beautiful plant and I'd hate to see it with scorched leaves. Besides, I want my money's worth from this plant, all $1.00 of it! LOL

Jump right on in Hap! I'd love to see some photographs of your beautiful plants.
