Beautiful Bloom ... looks like butter!

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

I love pale yellows too. Wonderful!

Macon, IL(Zone 5b)

Sunshine - pretty flower - love the yellow ones!

Hi and thanks, Sistah A! How's the Chicken Farm (that name cracks me up!) peduncle?

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes! Chicken Farm has me curious too! Can't imagine what that one will look like!

San Francisco, CA

Hoya kerrii. A common Hoya in the trade, for a very good reason- easy to grow and flower, and interesting succulent, heart-shaped leaves.

Oh cool Markroy! Looks like velvet and beadwork! May be a common one for some but I just recently got that one. I've never seen the bloom until now!

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Me neither. I thought of gowns, too. Do the variegated ones have the same flowers?

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Yes...all forms of the species will have the same flowers.

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

Mark,
I love the the way you captured the beeded sap on the individual flowers. beautiful color and I bet its sweet like sugar water.

San Francisco, CA

ric, it is sweet. Kind of like the syrup in flan. These flowers do make a mess though, as the flower ages the nectar pours down over whatever's beneath and makes a shiny brown stain.

Wow, I have never seen the H. kerrii bloom either ... very pretty! Looks like glass beads! I received a cutting of kerrii from another dg'er a few months ago. Got it to root but it is small ... maybe in a few years mine will grow up and I will get to see those beautiful blooms in person! Thanks for telling us about that nectar and the staining!

The first bloom for me on Pusilla IML 78. The bloom is small, like the size of a fifty cent piece. They look like fuzzy little chicks when you get the picture blown up. From this morning...

The same bloom several hours later. I was surprised to see all the pink that had come in by late this afternoon.

I also have Verticillata blooming. This is the third time it has bloomed since I received it last fall. I love this plant, it smells delightful and it seems to have at least one of it's five peduncles forming buds all the time!

Brenda- That fuzzy one is so cute!!

Beautiful flowers everyone, thank you for your kind words.

Thanks Diane, I was surprised to see how fuzzy it looked when I enlarged the picture! For me small blooms benefit so much from enlarging them over just looking at them with the naked eye. Or maybe I just need glasses worse than I thought! ^_^

All the pictures this month are outstanding, as usual!
