April Blooms
Nice one, Doug!
Beautiful! My wish list for the fall DL order is getting longer by the minute!
I always thought H. hellwigiana smelled like melon! i really like it.
That is lovely, Awanda. Pink-silver?
Oh, I really like that one Awanda ... very nice! I too would like to know if that is pink silver. I have a small plant given to me by a friend and she thought it was called pink silver ... it hasn't bloomed for me yet.
I've had this about 7 years and the tag was lost a long time ago, so I'm not really sure which one it is:-).
Blessings,
Awanda
oooo-pretty! I like that one! I recently got a pubicalyx- I hope it's like that one!
Nice blooms, everyone!

Edited to say that I just got back from a conference in San Diego to find Iris Marie and Juann...still with buds - YEA! I also found buds forming on oreogena, shepherdii, and cv Noelle! I love spring!

That litoralis is a work of art!
I am bumming. My 4th peduncle blasted on my callistophylla. The pattern seems to be that the buds blast the day after I water it. Any advice?
I would just let that thing get thirsty! ^_^ I don't have a callistophylla, it's one on my wish list. I think I'd have to practice a little tough love with that one! My multiflora has blasted buds twice since I got it last fall and it now has buds again. I am just daring it to blast them again! LOL. I am a hoya newbie and this plant not only blasted buds but the leaves were wilting and turning yellow. Then someone here told me it liked lots of water ... that was the problem, it was not getting enough water ... so I took someone else's idea and placed the pot into one of those self watering African Violet pots ... it really is a happy hoya now so hopefully I will get to see the blooms this time!
Christine - BEAUTIFUL flowers and, as always, beautiful pics!! I love the PNG 4. Thanks for sharing!
Karen
One of the secrets about H. callistophylla is NEVER let it get dry.
Should I mix in some sphagnum into the medium?
Just gorgeous pics Christina ! Say, what kind of camera do you use ? - those shots
come out great !

H fraterna's flowers started opening today, and I just shot this a few minutes ago. These are its first flowers; I got it as a cutting in Oct/05 and planted it upside down to root (not on purpose!), which I guess kind of explains its slow start....lol... It's just getting dark here, and the scent is so light, very fresh, but my nose can't compare it to anything that I recognize right off. I suspect it'll get a bit stronger as it gets darker outside.
Christine
My fraterna's blooming too, Christine...I would love to see a picture when it is open all the way to compare colors. Mine is more of a lemony yellow/cream.... Nice growing!!!
That's beautiful, Christine! I've grown fraterna before, but don't have it now. After seeing your picture, I miss it.
Thanks Carol, I'll do that over the weekend. And Mark, I think its my favourite right now for some reason...lol...
Ric, that's beautiful. I've had carnosa flowers last more than 2 weeks before. Your flowers are very white, I'd be interested to know what kind of carnosa it is....if that's possible with so many cultivars out there!
Christine
Ric look at my post of April 5th where I posted a picture that looks like your noid carnosa. That hoya still has the same flowas on it and its been almost 2 weeks.
Blessings,
Awanda
Ric I have no ideal which carnosa it is, but I've had it for ages and this is the first time blooming. Your leaves look the same as mine.
Blessings,
Awanda
Gollie....Awanda I think we have the same plant. I wish it bloomed all year long. Its been almost three weeks and the bloom still looks great.
have a nice weekend!
