Regarding the color change to the forums

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Geeeeesh....got my sunglasses out.
Can I put them back now, please?

Blinded by the light!

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Since I can't get this stupid song out of my head, I thought I'd share with everyone! LOL

Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night

I won't torture you with the rest of the song!

Ripon, WI(Zone 4a)

VERY appropriate for the PINK THEME

SE Houston (Hobby), TX(Zone 9a)

"do NOT step into the light.... - you could go blind!"

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Hey, I REALLY like it! Hot pink is my favorite color. :) It could stay as far as I'm concerned.

(Zone 1)

Cathy4: A business office with the office walls and desks painted that Neon Pink??!! Oh my Goodness ... As much as I LOVE the color pink, I just can't imagine working in a place like that! Doesn't seem very professional. Now, if it was a toy store or "Barbie" doll store that would be understandable. Did any of her employees enjoy that office atmosphere?

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

You should see the walls in the old part of the courthouse here. They are pink with sage green trim. When this building was originally built in 1983, the architects decided on those colors as representing the scoria rock and sage brush that is so abundant in this county. The end result didn't come off looking anything like scoria rock or sage brush though. It just looks goofy. For 25 years we've endured that color scheme, and now we are in the process of doing a face lift.

St. Louis County, MO(Zone 5a)

lin, it was the building joke and yes, it was pepto pink. The others in the office seemed to like it, but they decorated their areas with cute dolls and flowered pictures. I never fit in, I like a clean office space. I had plants, no doodads.

St. Louis County, MO(Zone 5a)

Oh my Joan, I feel for you!

(Zone 1)

Oh wow Joan ... I can't imagine a Courthouse with those colors. Sage green wouldn't be bad at all, but pink just does not seem right for a professional office to me. Sounds like what we see in the Islands where a lot of buildings are bright pink, turquoise, yellow and a combination thereof.

Cathy: Dolls? In an office setting? Ok, now I've heard of everything! LOL. I definitely agree with some very tasteful botanical pictures as wall decor, but dolls ... No Way! How can someone conduct business (unless it's a toy type business, or a business pertaining to children) with pink walls, desks and dolls around? To each his own, I guess but I would never feel comfortable doing business in a place like that ... or maybe I should say I would never feel serious. What type of business was it anyway? Yep ... If I worked in an office with pink walls and desks I would most definitely have to tone it down with LOTS of green living plants!

Well, ya know, I just got to thinking ... If I worked at the Boyds Bear Factory I would Love it, having all those cute teddy bears everywhere! Now that would make me smile all day long, even if the walls and furniture were all painted black!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5a)

I am so sorry I missed the pink phase! What an awesome joke, Dave!

Now, where can I get that color #FF00FF to paint my kids' rooms in? They could use some calming...

Jill, still laughing...

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

It's all well and good that it's gone, but Dave owes me for the cost of the built up shoe I will need as a result of him pulling my leg.

Luther, MI(Zone 4b)

Never even noticed there was a color change. When did it happen, and how long did it last?

I've been on since 4:30 this morning and didn't see it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Consider yourself lucky!

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Sorry I missed the initial color. lol But from what I've read above, I guess my eyes are happy that it's back to normal.

Yep, I was waiting to see what he would come up with this year too.
Dave, do you start thinking of next year's joke tomorrow? :-)

Happy April Fools to you too.

For those that missed it, you can click on the image in Dave's post to see what DG looked like all pinked up!

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

I was having computer issues all day yesterday and thought it was something I did! Glad to see the blue back! Good one Dave!

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

I like Chris' idea!

Quoting:
I think he should turn it off and on all day for others to enjoy.

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

My first thought was that I picked up some sort of virus, and in the next instant, I remembered the date and came here to see if my assumptions were correct.

I'd already had an April Fool's email from a friend with a daylily farm saying that he was closing his business, and that everything was $5. I about grabbed my shovel for a nanosecond, and instantly knew better.

Good one Dave!

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

..pssst,
dave, you almost said 'lol'..you used a yellow smile thingy. I thought that was the joke....

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Yeah, what's up with that? I thought you didn't like those little smilies. ;o)

Kingston, WA

Sorry I liked the blue or green better. The pink is too bright but I'm sure we'll gt used to it.

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7a)

I think that color pink has been linked to triggering seizures:LOL: I only say that after I was able to pick my twitching self up off the floor.... ;)

St. Louis County, MO(Zone 5a)

I think you are right, it triggered my migraine, too.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

lol, Dave you have such a sense of humor!
too bad it wasnt up when I logged on this evening ,I missed the joke.... :o(
And everyone knows I love a good prank every now and then :o)

Charleston, SC(Zone 9a)

Bummer, I arrived too late to see the new color in use; but, hey, that's one of my favorite colors, so I'm all for it. Way to go! A nice cheery hue for a change.

Just remembered what day it is, er, was, and came running over to see what Dave was doing for April fools this year.

Good one, although, I must admit that D.A.V.E was my all time favorite. Embarrassed to admit that I almost fell for that one for a second or two.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

wait... you have to tell us newbies what the D.A.V.E one was!!! :o) Please...

of course the newbie demanding to know is also the mom who scraped out the center of oreos one year and replaced the filling with crisco for her keds lunches tee hee hee :o)
I just love April Fools!

So, please tell me what I missed in years past :o)

When I read the D.A.V.E post I was new enough that I didn't know anything about Dave's April Fool's jokes. I kid you not - and am not proud of this but - my initial reaction for the 1st second or so before the doubt kicked in was actual grief like "oh, no, I really liked that Daves Garden site. I'm going to miss it." At the time, I was too embarrassed to admit that I'd fallen for it.

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

But no mention of the smilies? :o(

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

well this was the best one yet with the davex box running a close second for me. what a brain, dave. lol.

Charleston, SC(Zone 9a)

smilies? what about the smilies? did I miss something?

I guess this one was partially lost on me because I made up a couple of custom pallets for my computers. My pallets with names like 'crayola' included colors quite similar to this one and were serious pallets which I used almost exclusively on my computers. Even thought the colors seemed to offend others, I really liked them. The bright colors improved my mood. Hence my difficulty in seeing the real humor in the new color scheme. Upon seeing the new colors, I was like "yay! I love it!"

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Thanks scutler! I was beginning to think I was the only one that liked the pink. :) I like bright colors too.
