Regarding the color change to the forums

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Neuron Pink is more like it!

(Zone 1)

I guess Dave could have committed the ultimate April Fools Joke on all of us and taken the entire site down! Can you imagine? I know a lot of us would have really, really be traumatized by that!

Dave, I won't complain about the bright hot pink any more! LOL.

North Augusta, ON

shhhh Lin!!

Don't give him any ideas!!

Valrico, FL(Zone 9b)

Or set it so all links re-direct to Disney like the old GW days.

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

Quoting:
loud annoying music and blinkies.

Don't give him any ideas for next year!

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

I think I'm glad I missed it. I wonder how many DGers logged in and never found this thread and really thought it was just the new look...that maybe we all voted for "BRIGHT, AGGRAVATING, NEON PINK"! as what we wished for most in this week's poll.

If any lab rat tested better to that color I'm wondering what drugs they were also testing on him?

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

So much better my rage has subsided! LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Too late for my cat who jumped on my lap during my pink period...

Gladwin, MI(Zone 5a)

I first found the pink on another forum, then went here and laughed for 5 minutes straight reading the explaination Dave gave out. Really good.

Gotta say, that color made my teeth hurt!

(Zone 1)

Naaah ... I know Dave wouldn't do something like that. Can you imagine if he took the site down for 24 hours - the amount of feedback he'd be getting afterwards? Even if it were for repairs or something, he'd be bombarded with mail after the fact! Too much of a headache I'm sure for an April Fools joke of that sort ... that really wouldn't be fun or funny to subscribers or to Dave.

We do take so much for granted. This "Garden" has become a home away from home to so many of us. We log on and chat with friends on a daily basis, learn about new and old plants, post our photo's, ooh and aah over other's photo's, research plants etc.

Thank You Dave & Co. for this Wonderful Garden ... just blooming with friendship!

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

I think it should have stayed longer, reading other forums with their confusion (and appall ) is fun. Scrolling past the pink at the top is fast enough and Kell never saw it!

Scottsdale, AZ(Zone 9b)

I was shocked also. However Dave, I found it actually "functional" when I was responding to a post and when I went to preview it, someone else had posted immediately before me. It was the PINK that prompted me to read their reply before posting mine. Yeah, usually there's the red promting me. Who'd a thunk it! That pink really screams at you to pay attention.

Site wide? Yeah, great April fools joke, Dave. Hehehe.

Scottsdale, AZ(Zone 9b)

ROFL, Dave. I just responded and AGAIN someone had written before I did and BINGO, there was the pink. You're too funny.

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

I didnt read the whole thread... but gotta admit... that PINK is tough on the eyes.
maybe something a lil more subtle.

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Glad I found this thread..LOL..I thought gremlins attacked my computer while I was away..Such a Bright Pink..Good One Dave : )

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

AH -- yes... hopefully it's April Fools on us. ROFL

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

okay, okay, okay. I get the joke!!! (I knew it had to be either the last server doing a crash-and-burn or a prank.) So can you please change the helpdesk queue color back to the riotous shade of blue or green? Chuckle....

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

Yeah, it's back!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Having a relapse.

Ripley, MS

I am still seeing pink, I think it is burned into my retina
Sandra

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

LOL, blinded by the light comes to my mind!!!!!!!!
You did it again Dave, scared the bejejes out of everyone!

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Hey, back when Hayden Fry was the head football coach at the University of Iowa, he painted the opposing teams locker rooms pink. He thought it was psychological ploy to relax the opposing teams and take them off their game a bit. They are still pinkish, and considering Iowa's football record in the past few years, maybe they goofed up and painted the home teams locker rooms pink too! :)

LOL

Good one!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Got my welder's mask on.

(Zone 1)

It does scream at you and make you pay attention, doesn't it? I wonder if we'd ever get used to that neon pink if it was permanent?

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Excellent choice, Dave. Who would have thought neon pink would be so restful. To complete the mood, I've slipped in a CD of Irish penny whistle music and placed a tack on the seat of my office chair. I'm on my way to the kitchen to whip up a batch of V8 and Hawaiian punch to sip as I surf DG in splendor.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Punk rock is more appropriate.

Norfolk, VA

I think you should keep it!!!

NOT>>>>>>>>

but a change from the green would be nice!

New York & Terrell, TX(Zone 8b)

Actually... it's quite annoying to the Diabetic eyes↓→↨.

Hard to concentrate on the posts. I think it should be #336699.

I really do hope this is an April Fool's Joke.... Dave. Dave. Dave???

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

hahahaha.

Best part was the explanation of the cool, calming effect of the pink. How long did it take you to think that one up, Dave? Love it.

Pinellas Park, FL(Zone 9b)

I came to this forum as soon as I was able to find my sunglasses and my eyes lost their glaze. I was about to call 911 thinking I had a stroke! LOL

Norfolk, VA

do the lingering pink lines go away on their own, like sun spots...... or do I need to order something for it?

Missouri City, TX

Thought the site had been hijacked by an x-rated hacker.

Nice practical joke.

Nowback to "our normally scheduled" colors, please.

sounds like a normal day around here...

Dave, my nine year old son Sam would like to have a word with you...

"Happy aprilest april-ly foolishy day! I love pink, but I like purple better!"

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

I was waiting for something, but not THAT! That color is burned into my eyeballs - have to go wash dishes or something.

Good one, Dave!

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

I left my computer on all night, and thought it was having a tantrum. or I had just lost my mine.
Very Funny Dave

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

I was wondering all day yesterday what you would do, Dave!!! Nice April Fools Joke!!!

Nevada, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh Dave, way funny. But I have to admit, it definitely woke me up this morning!

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7b)

Tsk, tsk, very naughty, but very funny, thanks Dave. Happy April Fool's Day to you too.

St. Louis County, MO(Zone 5a)

I used to work for a woman who had the office & desks painted that color, I assure you, it is not relaxing. Looked like a Barbie Doll Dreamhouse, often referred to as the Pink Palace.
