Daily Pics Vol. #86
Great pictures on the other link folks.
Mrs. Ed, yes to the lilacs. Me, too.
Tigerlily, good for you on finding a nest. I am still searching for the ones here. Creek is still running a bit high making it difficult to search out some of the good hiding places.
NMJane, love that Vermillion Flycatcher. Beautiful bird.
Crows, crows, crows, I have tons of them, but they sit high up in the trees. A few come to the feeder, but not very often.
Sadie mae, raccoons are a pain. They come right up on the front porch here. I hope to get a shot of mama and her babies when she has them, late spring. Last year she brought all five of them to eat dry cat food. Still have not managed to get a good picture of her.
My morning walk produced nothing. It is so darned cold again today. Grrrrrrrrrrr.
A pretty lady from last evening.

Sadie Mae, raccoons are a major pain. They come right up on my front porch. I hope to get a shot of mama and her babies when she has them, late spring. Last year she brought all five of them to eat dry cat food. Still have not managed to get a good picture of her. When she spots me with the camera, she usually runs me right off of the porch! Very protective mama!

GG: She looks a bit gumpy! :) But she is a pretty lady.
Thanks Debin.
Yes, she does look grumpy.
Glad to see my Internet Service Provider is right on the mark today. It kicked me off-line when I was posting, then posted twice!
WHATEVER!! Wish we had DSL out here.

Wonderful pictures everyone! I love seeing the birds from all over the country too - and the UK!
Pelle, I totally laughed when I read that your Cedar Waxwings don't show up until it's almost dark. Sounds like a common problem! Mine only show up if it's really dark and cloudy outside like it was this morning. I was thinking it was waxwing weather when the first flock showed up and then two more flocks joined them. They were everywhere. Of course it was dark and they won't let me get anywhere near them -- so annoying!
Gardenpom, I saw a Painted Bunting for the first time last April. I sure hope he comes back. I loved seeing your picture. All your pictures were just wonderful. I hope to see an Indigo Bunting one day too.
Very nice pic Debin!
Thanks for starting the new thread!
My other complaint with the Cedar Waxwings is that they will not come into my yard to save their lives. I have multiple bird feeders with different seed, a feeder with grapes. I've planted things that are supposed to attract them even though I only see them a few times a year, but do they visit my yard -- nooooo! My neighbor has nothing but grass and a small half dead tree. She throws some old bread in the back of the yard and they swoop down like it's a king's feast.
Here's a little devil with a piece of bread in his mouth. Did I mention these birds annoy me!
I guess if their hungry enough and there aren't enough berrys on bushes or trees around. I didn't know that they would eat bread though
If bread didn't attract Grackels etc. I'd put some out.
Great pics everyone!

What a shot Pelle! Did you see there are a few frizzes sticking out from her side? Bad hair day the whole way around.
Love the caption, too.

I love that one, Pelle!
Elph - I think you need to send love vibrations towards the waxwings! What kind of tree is he sitting in? Some kind of maple? Interesting leaves.
Wish I could do that!
Nice pics OP and GM!!
Hellooo back! Lol. Good one pelle!
I feel almost afraid to say we had a lovely warm spring day today, oh no sorry, it was a summer's day! Spring is cold, lol, we got 13C (55F) and gorgeous warm sun. Lots of pics too!
My girl Pheasant was at the end on my road having a few salad tidbits, she stayed around all day and treated me like another pheasant. I put out some oats later and she came running like a pet but stopped just short of me, lol, I held out my hand with some on but she wasn't that brave but I was only a couple of feet from her.
Nice pics Elphaba!
Wallaby, she's so pretty!
WOW, Wallaby, she's GORGEOUS! and how lovely to have her as your wild pet!
Nice pair of Goldfinches Elphaba! Very prickly perch!
I have so many pics I can't post them all! I set my camera to take multiple pics, although it doens't do it that quick I got a few reasonable ones. I also used the "Shutter' programme and set it fast to freeze, at the end I used 1/1600 but started at 1/1000.
Blue Tit and Great Tit
Those are just amazing! The clarity even in flight is a real treat to see.
