Here's a new thread. This chickadee was sitting on an icy branch after an ice storm. We came from http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/826621/
Daily Pics vol. 83
LOL, Very nice pics bebop!!
Thanks for starting the new thread!
Pelle :-)
That chickadee pic is beautiful bebop!
Some Canada Geese were passing through on their way north
Judging by their shadows, they're heading south . . .
The lead bird is a hybrid between a Canada Goose and a domestic farmyard goose (note the pinkish bill and larger white chin patch). That explains why they're heading the wrong way of course, farm birds don't have a clue ;-)
Resin
Wow Resin, I wouldn't have known.
Last week driving by a cornfield there must have been 1,000 geese, no kidding. I'd never seen so many in one place.
Thanks for starting the new thread bebop.
LOL, nanny! Yea I got Grackles.
Very nice pics adel! I love the Quail pic!
Very nice pics wallaby and burn!!
Thanks Pelle.
LOL, thats cute!
nanny_56 asked "Does anybody else get alot of these type of shots??" Sure, what with the birds being free agents, not posed at all, but those are the ones that wind up in my bit bucket rather than in my photo albums :). The ones I keep are like the attached photo of a proud bird with a freshly caught worm. And my thanks too to bebop2 for starting the new thread.
Mmmmm, wormy!!!
LOL, that is wormy! Even using burst mode I rarely get a shot of them with the worm in their beak because they eat it so fast.
Look how green your grass is Nanny!!! Mine is still gross brown. Hence no pictures from me now!!!
Mine is still under snow!
Nice pics nanny!
Our grass stays green all year long, the only time it goes brown is if theres a drought in the summer.
ooo, ha. good point Boojum. sorry about your snow!!!
Nice pictures everyone.
I agree with Nanny, one of the features of this forum that make it so much fun for me is the vast array of shots that are featured. The fact that the subjects do not pose make it possible to capture all kinds of interesting shots.
Another thing about this particular forum that makes it special is that not all users have really high-end cameras, or are "accomplished" photographers. Yet, all participants are welcomed and made to feel part of the group.
Thanks to you all on the forum for maintaining an atmosphere where all interesting shots, including the humorous ones, are welcomed.
You folks make my day every day.
GG
I agree GG. You know, everyone's priorities are different. I'll take an cruddy but identifiable photo of a new life list bird over a professional picture of one I've already seen ANY day!!!
Thanks for the new thread Bebop and also the great Chickadee and Canada Geese pics! Very cool Hawk Pic too!
You all have been busy and lots of colorful pics today. It is overcast and sprinkling so not much going on in our neck of the woods.
Nanny, we need to start a thread on "butt" shots...as I get more of those than anything else! LOL!
I saw the Starlings crawling out of the cavities on this tree across the street.
Beautiful pic bebop!
I wonder who lost their home to those Starlings; very nice pic Rose!
