Louise, I don't know much about that rose... but it certainly looks great... I would check the garden watchdog before getting it from them...
Spring NE Roundup - Saturday June 28th
Dave the sugar daddy will be sleeping when we are up there... he works nights.... don't want to drag along a cranky daddy to the party
:)
could you tell me what you're talking about/ I can't find the beginning of the thread. I live in Worcester and it might be something I'd like to attend, unless it's private.
Here you go. Here's the start of this Round Up thread ...

Great!!!! it will be nice meeting you!!!!
So, wait, it's definitely Saturday, then? xx, Carrie
yes, it's saturday! I have a rose show to attend on Sunday... lol....
I thought this RU was THE rose show! Patti
oh I wish... my roses are still very young so I hope that will be tons of blooms for you guys to enjoy... but they are not going to be rose show blooms... which is fine with me... every rose is perfect to me anyways...
ah, the irises are growing.... so happy to see green!!!! I was so afraid they were not going to make it... I have irises growing all over.... whoo yoooo.....
Kassia, Every bloom in my garden is a "show" bloom . When anything blooms I put on a little happy dance which is quite a "show", believe me.
I admire people growing "perfect show" blooms, but I can't imagine cutting the ones off that are near perfections and then hauling them off to some dreary exhibit hall. But I like seeing other people do it, so I can go and see them. Very selfish of me. I can barely cut some of my blooms off to enjoy in my own house. I look forward to seeing your roses and any of the NE DGers that show up, thorns and all. Just kidding. Patti
Kassia - the date of the RU at your house should be really good for peak rose blooms, shouldn't it? I know that the Elizabeth Park Rose Garden in Hartford is peak at that time. If you haven't been there, you should see it. Anyone who loves roses as you do would find it really special. I have been many times and loved it each time.
I agree with you.......roses are gorgeous whether they are "show blooms" or not!!! I even love mine that have beetle bites in the petals. LOL
Patti - LOL on the thorney NE DGers that will come!! LOL
OH, yes, Elizabeth Park is so gorgeous! The problem is that everytime I go I want one of everything. I used to live on the Connecticut shoreline, where the wild beach roses all bloom at once and the smell is just heavenly. I moved much further inland, and bought a rosa rugosa rose from Cheshire Nursery becomes it smelled and looked like the white wild roses. It looks like it has new growth, so if I can just keep those lousy beetles off of it, it may make it. I'm REALLY looking forward to the RU!
I am planning to visit Elizabeth Park, Ashdown Roses in So Carolina, and Roses Unlimited also in So Carolina - and this summer. I hope the roses will put out a show... if only spring would come!!!!
You will really enjoy E. Park, Kassia. Another lovely place with pretty roses is a park in Orangeburg, SC. We usually stop there and walk through the park on the Black River on our way back up to NH. If you are going to be in SC, see if Orangeburg is nearby. It's definitely worth a stop there too!
Oh I will do that!!!!
Yay! Nancy's coming!!
you mean Nap???
I think Harper means gabagoo.
ok...
LOL!
Yep.... that's me!
Mom said she'll make a cake for me, (the non-baking daughter), to bring.
Nancy
Great!!!!! looking foward to meet you!!!!
It does get confusing. About a year ago someone posted a conversion chart of DG names to real names. It may be time again. Mine is easy. I'm Victor.
Many new names on the forum lately too - it's great!
I am hoping more local to me get involved... i feel so far away from you guys
:)
We're only one post away!
This RU is REALLY going to be fun!
Man, I wish I could be there with you guys. We're not spending any $ this year since we started our biz. NUTS!!!!
If I missed it, I'm sorry, but, what biz, flowerjen?
Are you selling nuts? Patti
Allison, I grew up in Chester, NJ, not far away from Denville.
I went to the chester craft fair last year... very nice
My hubby just went full time with our HVAC biz. So until he gets busy, we basically have no income.
Good luck on the biz, Jen!
So wait, Allison (onewish1) and flowerjen both live in NJ!!! OMG!!!! The state's not that big, is it? Do you both still feel isolated? I just found out that the mother of one of my daughter's best friends is a DG not-yet-subscriber. I'm excited! x, Carrie
I know I do.... there are so many of you in other states... there are only a few active people i have seen on here from NJ
Yep, only a couple of DGr's from NJ, so much for the "Garden State". I wonder whatever happened to Lady Cleo???
There are certainly a lot more - they just don't frequent the NE forum.
Hi Everyone... spring clean up on the way... hopefully it will be a beautiful garden for you guys to enjoy!!!! tons of green showing up... few roses died...oh that's sad!!!!
plenty to be planted...
So sorry about the roses that didn't make it, Kassia.
I am still crossing my fingers about our two rose bushes.
