Wonderful variety of pics today everyone...Love the green in your pics Wallaby and Gardenpom. Makes me hope for spring.

Bad pics but wanted to show you how this Male Eastern Bluebird (I don't think I'm gonna call him "My Guy" anymore) got the worm!!

Mrs_Ed ... and speaking of Pileated's - Holy buckets. It must be a day for mating. Pileated's do not have the most musical of song at any time but the screeching and chasing and screeching some more that just occurred in my yard - Whoa! Neahneahneahneahneahneahneah - imagine that at a rapid, squeaky high pitch!

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

I like your fighting spirit sybil, lol!

Nice Grackle show-off gardenpom!

Rose, the green is an evergreen/yellow shrub. Lol, that Bluebird shouldn't need much feeding after that fat grub!

Another of Robin, I had to lighten it would you believe.

At 4:26 pm I typed how happy everybody is because Spring is so close and there were raindrops on the sidewalk and blah, blah, blah.

It is now 6:16 p.m. Yes, people, that is freshly falling snow. :(

I clicked on Piliated Woodpecker so I could listen to the song as we do have one around in the summer so if it is being vocal perhaps I can see it. Don't worry Mrs_Ed our turn for iris will come and later so it is warn enough to walk around the beds. :) .

iris - if you haven't seen one you will be surprised by how large they are.

I have seen ours, but I think we must be on the edge of its territory. I figure if it is calling it must be coming our way. We do have a dead birch it like to tackle--hasn't been seen in the winter, if it is there our yard must not be winter territory.

I just adore these White-breasted Nuthatches; their such sweeties!!

These pictures make my day.

wallaby, that picture of the robin is a classic. Very nice!

dellrose, that guy needs to keep his strength up. Sounds as though he could use a Zantac! Next thing you know you'll be hearing the tweeting of little beaks, in lieu of the patter of little feet! I know, that was terrible.

Here is my contribution from today. Woodpeckers, a female and I believe male red bellied.

Thanks Pelle. I cannot figure out why I keep calling them that! Jeepers!

Here are two female cardinals sharing a branch with a sparrow. I am probably wrong, but the only one I can find in my book that looks something like it is a Song Sparrow.

The color is not good in this picture because the sun was behind them.

I was able to get a little closer to the Rufous today...Shan71 I haven't been ignoring your question, I missed seeing it until now. If you go to Picasa.google.com there is a free program you can download that allows you to do collages.

Nice bunch of pictures, Adel good job of collage with the hummers.
Don't have much to contribute, since all my feeders are down. I'm getting the Startlings and Doves mostly an occasional Chickadee.

adel, that collage is terrific. Hummers are the greatest.

dellrose, that meadowlark looks as though he is in mid-song.

I think that bluebird is becoming a ham. He knows what a handsome fellow he is.

Love your bird pics everybody!

Iris - we only saw the Pileated's in the summer until I put out the peanut silo. They found that within twenty four hours and made it a daily stop. Then I put out 5 suet feeding stations on the back fence this winter and we've seen up to five Pileated's at a time in the yard.

Nice pics everyone!

Sort of communal harmony! Three different types on a single branch. Common Gray Hornbill, Dove [pair] and Koel. This morning's shot, looking up the tree branch.
