got this palm tree as a gift for easter
Blooming in March
colocasia. the plain old green ones
That papyrus can spread pretty fast, might want to keep an eye on it.
All looks well.
thanks for the tip... i will when i showed my mom the orchid just now, she thought it was a daffodil
Trent - go do your homework LOL
Diehrd: You really scored on that orchid. It's a beauty!
Debin - I really feel so bad...last Wed and Thurs I uncovered my beds ...again...and look what it has gotten us...tell me I am not the frost queen curse LOL I swear I am not going to uncover anything anymore :o)
aaahhhh! i can't help it!! hw can wait!!!! thanks... i got it at the greenery
here is a list of where to buy this brand of plants... the name it its sold under is "plants that work". if these nurseries don't have it, i'm sure you could ask them to order it

oh DHs how's the grandma doing?!?!?!
she's fine... we left saturday night, and they said it was just pneumonia. so yeah its all good
Novalis is either part of Carolina Nurseries or at least related in some way. Carolina is the biggie wholesale place in Moncks Corner. Definitely should be able to find their plants in Charleston.
therewas an article in "living in South Carolina" about the 'plant hunter' who went around the world looking for plants and found some rarities and brought them back to be mass produced with tissue culture. the butterly orchid was one of them featured
they said it was just pneumonia. so yeah its all good
We all know grannies and pneumonia go together well.
diehard, love your bletilla ochracea and ti blooms. my bletillas didn't bloom last year (they better start this year), but I have had one cordyline bloom, they're so funky looking
:-)
thanks kara, me too. there was a huge cordyline austalis that put out severa inflos this year at sunshine nursey, if anyone is familiar with it. it looked realy cool
I've got one outside, didn't bother to mulch it. Hopefully it comes back
you'll have to keep your eye out for bletilla seed (?) I don't know if they set any or not, but it's such a pretty plant
i sure will... i was thinking... has anyone ever tried to cross b. striata and b. ochracea??
Diehrd: I pot up my orchids, and I let them grow. Dont' know nothin' bout crossin' no orchids. :)
well, i guess i'll just have to explore that myself!!! but first i'll have to get a b. striata.... once i'm off restriction. my parents just had a 'conference' with me and my sister about grades.... they say until i'm out of school, i'm not allowed to make any "unauthorized" plant purchases that are for my own interests, rather than opur yard's interest.... my parent are stupid. i know that sounds childish, and i know y'all will disagree, but for all my intents and purposes, they ate compete morons.... that was my rant for today
Diehrd: You say that now....... LOL.
So what constitutes an "unauthorized " plant purchase. You been loadin' up the folks' credit card again?
Meanwhile, study, study, study!! ;->
trent go check out carter and holmes orchids online...if you find what you need perhaps I will get you an early xmas present LOL...seriously go check them out and LMK
