Blooming in March
diehrd: Wow! Thanks for the show. Must've been fun to be surrounded by all those.
We only got rain last night and some gusty winds, thank goodness.
Ardesia: I've decided my jessamine is definitely vanilla. :)
I have a clematis beginning to bloom. It's 3 years old and this is the first time it has bloomed. It also was tagged "Armandii", but I'm not so sure that's what it is.
Deb
Beautiful orchids, I am glad I wasn't there or I would have wanted every one.
"what's this" is Farfugium japonicum.
i have more, better ones to come... remind me later
oh ok... there was something with really smooth leaves that looked like it too
Deb is your clematis evergreen?I think there are several cultivars of the Armandi named after Mr.Armandi.Does your have a wonderful scent?
Diehrd and Core, I heard that Bruno's on HHI was selling gallon pots of perennials today for $2.00. They had been damaged by the hail the other night.
whats brunos's i have never heard of it!
Nursery on HHI. I have never been there myself but a friend from HH told me she went to there today and made out like a bandit. I think they are located near the airport but I am not sure.
oh! my schools right next to the airport!!!
I've never heard of Bruno's? I go looking for it.
HHI got serious hail, I saw a few cars that were dimpled. One of my friends actually headed for the "safe" part of their house. Didn't ask exactly where that is but I assume it's in the middle?
so did the midlands... my mom's car looks like the surface of the moon
Found Bruno's, it seem to be next to the Evergreen Pet Lodge. Must be pretty new or I would have seen it sometime.
like, what do they sell??
other then some trees snapping in half and pine and oak limbs falling my yard fared pretty well....at least my GH is still here LOL...
Has anyone advice on repairing a break in a climbing rose? The trellis was pulled free in the wind and broke the rose near the base but not all the way thru...it is the main trunk but the leaves have yet to wilt ....would love any advice someone might have...
looks like the rain helped the bulbs though...lots of hyacinth and tulips everywhere...
i would advise you to close the wound as well as possible and keep it tight and secure.... u should probably wrap some tape around the wound the way they do when they secure new plumeria grafts to keep out moisture, fungus, disese, and pests.
well I got out in the yard and picked up sticks, branches, more sticks...more branches LOL got down on my knees and I swear I can't see where Scott says the rose broke so I am leaving that baby alone! LOL
DHS - do you want any mother of a thousand with the other stuff I am sending? Mike sent some of that too - but I swear it is the weirdest looking I've ever seen - when he first opened the bag I thought he had baby squid in there it was so freaky looking LOL
Went to parks...thought of you when I bought a Musa today :o)
also grabbed a rabbit foot fern which I thought looked like a fern on top of a tarantula LOL I had Cameron pick it up and said OMG look its a spider on the bottom - you'd think he had hot coals in his hands - the coolest find was a 5' tall dutchmans pipe for only 9 bucks...
