LOL !
IRIS GARDEN TOUR/BBQ/POTLUCK-4-26-08
Sherry, I would like to try the agastache aurea, please. And if you have enough erigeron, I'm always in need. Only a couple of mine are big enough to split, I think.
K, okey-dokey.....My Santa Barbara Daisies have made huge mounds now. I think I really like them under and around roses, but then I let my geranium incanum run around loose in the roses also.
K: aka Pickle-puss, I'll bring an extra jar just for you!
#12: My name is Lisa. (The "Lu" was added when I moved out here to the country, I married a redneck so it just seemed to "fit"!) Can I bring him? He's reeaal cute!
uh-oh...better keep an eye on him around weege!
(JUST KIDDING LOUISE !!!)
Remind me to slap you Mike!
Sure Lisa, bring him with you, the more the merrier!
I am so looking forward to meeting all of you and seeing the beautiful iris garden! I just got a recipe from Martha Stewart for Meyer Lemon Raspberry Cupcakes. She had Cupcake Week last week. Would any of you like me to bring copies of it to the potluck? This recipe is from Amy Berman who owns the Vanilla Bakeshop in Santa Monica.
I would love a copy Sharon.
Sharon, why not post it on the recipe forum. :-)
Well, the bbq is a week away, can't wait to see everyone. Here's the address and directions, it's very easy to get to.
6119 Walnut Ave.
Chino, CA 91710
It's off the 60..take the Mountain Ave. offramp...if you're coming from the west, turn right on Mountain and if you're coming from the east, turn left on Mountain...right on Walnut Ave. About a block and a half down on the left side, look for the big red barn out front.
See you all there!
can't wait!
Be there with bells on! Well, not really, but you know what I mean. :-)
I know Kathleen, I'm looking so forward to having you all!
OK. I'll wear bells. NOT !
No bells allowed Mike!
I'm going to be cutting down a large rosemary bush and if anyone wants cuttings or some sprigs for drying, I can bring a bag full (or two). It's a very upright variety, really nice, but it's too close to the house and considered a fire hazard here, so must go.
Put those cuttings in water and they'll root also........
I've had some in water for two weeks with no sign of rooting yet, but they look fine.
I don't remember how long it took them to root before, but they did root. Quite a lot of them...
Good, I'll do some more then. Still, it's a big plant, so if anyone wants some, let me know.
I'll take one !
Hang some bells on Mike's Kathleen!!!!!
One? Who takes one rosemary cutting? I'm bringing a bag! lol
Here's the list of who's coming...all are invited! I would love to add more names! It's supposed to be very warm this weekend so I will furnish plenty of water as well as the burgers and dogs. See you all Saturday at noon! You're going to love all the flowers!

I'd love to add one more name if possible...a guest, Rosa, who was at last year's RU and was a subscriber then, but I don't think she is now. I haven't asked her yet.....
Bring Rosa with you, that's fine Sherry.
Hi Louise, would it be okay for me to bring my mom with me??
karen
You said you wanted more people!....lol...
Thanks, Rosa is taking a couple of days off work and wanted to get together with me on Friday and it's hard for me to be gone two days in a row especially when it gets hot and I need to do a lot of extra watering. This way I can see if she'd like to spend Saturday with me and she can get a look at your irises also. If she hasn't already made plans for Saturday....
Sure is Karen, I hope Rosa can join us Saturday!
Thanks a bunch! I wanted to bring my mom with me to Arlene's, but she had just recently taken a nasty fall and wasn't getting around too well. She is all recovered now, and I'd love for her to meet my DG friends :-)
karen
I'm bringing a Butter Rum bundt cake also.....
I'm glad your mom is ok Karen. That's scary when they fall, you never know what they can break.
Butter Rum, yum!
Okay, Rosa's coming with me....thanks again, weege.
I hope that everyone can make it Saturday. Haven't heard back from some but sure hope they put it on their calendar. You just cannot miss these irises in bloom! I hope it's not too hot. Supposed to be in the 90's so I'll have plenty of water.
Here's who I have:
Louise (weegy12)
Mike (jasperdale)
Kathleen (kaperc)
Sherry and Rosa (wcgypsy)
Karen and Mom (amarantha00)
George and Sue (george) ?
Chuck and Loida (cbernard) ?
Sharon and Carol (sharonlovesiris)
Don and Pam (possibly) (drdon) ?
lisalu and DH (Lisa)
Let me know if I missed anyone.
Baked the cookies yesterday and popped them in the freezer. Can't find my bells. DH has plotted the route to GPS - he MUST use the GPS. :-) Looking forward to the garden, weeg. Oh, and one of the irises I got from you last year for the pond has bloomed - the purple with a yellow center - and it is gorgeous!
Yea Kathleen, cookies! I'm glad your irises are doing good!
I don't know about that GPS, it got me lost in Buena Park.
LOL. It hasn't gotten me lost so far, but we've had some interesting experiences - like when it routes you onto a new street that dead-ends in construction. DH likes to set a route, then change it mid-way and see how quick the GPS can catch up! I have Yoda giving directions on mine and it makes me laugh when I drive, which is a good thing. :-)
Well, mom's house is really easy to find, you won't run into dead ends.
Hi guys,
I've got three cuttings from Brugmansia Geneveive (white double) I can bring for trade or just to give. I love tropical plants, irises and daylilies. They're nice and healthy, and mostly already with buds. I've never taken cuttings before, but I'll look up how to best cut and bring them, if anyone is interested...
karen
hiya Weegy!
Yep, we're coming .......even if there isn't a theme.......lol.
How about we bring adult beverages?
If not we'll just pull more weeds than anyone else.
Weegy's Iris Sea has been blooming for weeks and is a huge source of joy for us. Thanks Louise and Mike.
woohoo, more fun in the real sea of Iris.
best,
don
