Crossville, TN

Great idea, JD!! I like the name too...Schleprechaun... I'll bet Fiona can play it! Jo

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Okay,
We will slice it here and it can be served there hot or cold with rye (bread).

bob.

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Bob, that is a great idea!! In fact I was thinking of doing that myself since Don has gone with the fish. Don't get me wrong, fish is wonderful, but I think many of us were looking forward to some corned beef. lol

Weegy, after considerable thoughts, I am changing my mind on my dish. I would have to fry these potato cakes early in the morning and then try to keep them warm....NOT.
Since we could use more veggies/salads, I am going to bring a Calico Salad, which has lots of different veggies in it.

Donna

Temecula, CA(Zone 8b)

Rotf@ Schleprechaun......As that is basically my function at this point.

Mike, you do have a way with nicknames.........that's as good the one you contributed last year while icing a "Tobified" appendage and free associating with all of us in the living room. If my "mammary" is a little fuzzy, one that one, we can refer to the notes I took that night as some contributions were positively classic schtick.....

"Oh Donny-boy, the clock she is a-tickin'"...........

WCtypsy...........That's as good as it gets Weeg.......

Arlene.....are you really bringing pansit?.............Oh my, now that will be very nice. And an ethnic delicacy for those who know not of it's persuasive powers on the palate.......wooohoo!

well I'm off to Schlepping, shopping, and more driving

best to all,
don

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

I have my directions from last year somewhere but just in case can you post them again.

Don is there anyway that they can hose down the magic mix before I leave since it will be a 2 to 21/2 hr. drive and may be real windy? Hope not, though.

Temecula, CA(Zone 8b)

hiya hellnzn11,

Consider it hosed.......

The thread with the directions has been bumped....

best to you,
don

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Ok thanks Don. I would come home bawling if it all blew out.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Sherry, you and I will never lose my typo down will we?!!?!?
Donna, got you down for the salad.
Don, you drive safe the rest of the way...if there's anything you need, you have my number.
If anyone has any suggestions for something I may have forgotten, bring it on. I am a little scatterbrained these days!

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Weeg, your not the only one!!! lol

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Don't forget Marie tomorrow. lol Is Rodica coming on the same plane?

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

I sent out a resume yesterday with an extra space in it and forgot to put sincerely in the cover letter. That made me so upset yesterday. grrrrr. Worse than a DG typo.

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Yes we are traveling together!! We should arrive in California at 8:20am on Friday

So cool. It is freezing here today w/this marine layer. It will probably be hot, from what I see, but it is SOCAL always prepare for mother nature to be succumbed by schizophrenia, bring some warm stuff in case it is windy and the marine layer comes in or the nights could be chilly too.

Can not wait to finally meet Rodica.

Temecula, CA(Zone 8b)

woohooo!

Welcoming the attendees from the Great State of.......How hot is it today anyway?......lol.

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

or cold or windy

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Only 77 right now and should be a 100 by this afternoon. Better than the 110 it was 2 weeks ago.

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

I bet it is about 70 later today and it is about 60 and windy now, I think. I just closed the window, my trees are blowing all crazy.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Your limo (ok, it's not a limo or not even close!) will be waiting Marie and Rodica!
You're right Donna, there's no room for error with these guys!
It's cold and ugly here today...bring that sun with you Marie!

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

You all could send us some of that cold please!!!

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

You can have it!

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Just in case for some reason you haven't seen the directions thread to the RU...here it is...

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/856689/

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

lol!! I can see it now, Marie and Rodica Welcomed to California wearing shorts and tank tops while it snows&blows here and sitting on their bags in the airport, waiting for Louise, who is so busy w/final details of the RU, she forgets them.

Louise don't forget them Marie is carrying my cotton seeds. No selfish motives on my part.

I can't wait to see you guys and Louise too, it has been since your July thing.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

You too Dawn.

Even though the menu looks a little small at this point, I'm sure there will be plenty for all, everyone always comes through with more than enough.

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

I think it looks like there will be plenty...we won't starve. My pasta salad has broccoli, weege, what's your green? I luuuve pasta salad! We do usually manage to eat pretty well at these gatherings, don't we? Rosa is bringing cookies....

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Sherry, I didn't see that I added you as bringing a pasta salad...I'll stick to the original plan...potato salad.

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Ok so how do you make your potato salad??

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

I'll tell you when I see you Dawn, I can't reveal my secret here!

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

What is my name (tapping her foott)

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Weege, 2 pasta salads works for me. Yours is probably better than mine! You think the same way I do...I'll just throw something green in it.....I was fine with the brownies, then Gail wanted to do brownies and I'm home on Friday while she's working, so I have more time to make a salad. It's sometimes hard for those who work all week to find time to make something.....
Speaking of potato salad, Amarantha can't come?
edited to add that if yours is better....I'll just lie and tell everyone that it's mine........

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

OMG, I was sure that said Dawn. Spacing out here a little, ya think?!!??

San Diego, CA

I'm coming staight from work so I will bring some smoked fish, Cevichi and some smoked tuna dip. That's about all I can really do since I'm working.
Mark

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Mark does that mean that you won't start saying you have to leave to go to work? It didn't work last year....did you ever make it to work that day?....lol....
Sherry

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Call him on it Sherry. I think with the fish and chips as a main course we will have more than enough because there is not tons of people coming, it will just seem like it to Don and Pam.

Weegy, what time do I need to be there since I am the bearer of the plates? I guess I can not just show any time like last year.

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

10 AM is the designated time.

San Diego, CA

I am new to Dave's Garden, living here in downtown S. D. I will not be attending, but thank you very much. Dave has a very interesting and entertaining websit. I love it.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Gotcha Mark.

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Ok, that is fine, I didn't want to have to come really early to bring plates. I have a 2 1/2 hr. drive. My dd was going to come but I am not sure now, since she is afraid it may be too hot this year for her pregnant self.

I heard it is suppose to be windy and warm. That windy could suck if it is bad but it may keep it cooler. Could be good.

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

Jockoknox, welcome to DG! Sorry you won't make it this year. We'll have lots of pictures, though, so you can enjoy it after the fact.

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Is Don Back in the area today?
