Western Regional DG RU -Plant trades

LOL gypsy - no bunnies, thanks! We are inside a block wall yard with - so far - no bunnies. Friends in Sun City - especially on the golf courses have tons of them tho. Which brings the coyotes.
Here's a picture for Hellnzn of "our" blue dawn

I love it Harold. Got any seeds? I love MG. I have none this year. They are an annual here for sure. I need to plant some, my seeds never sprouted. In Carpenteria they grow all year and nearby areas like the San Fernando Valley too, but it sucks that they don't here. They don't get out of control though in this area either, which I hear some complaining about.

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Dawn, I have one dug that I can bring you. You're right...I don't think it would make it through your winter there, but you never know.

greenwytch....if I have anything offered that you'd be interested in, I would gladly trade for a dragonfruit cutting. If I don't have anything that you can use, that's okay too...you may want to save them for other things that pop up that you are interested in....my feelings won't be hurt...lol....

Gypsy I would love that. Maybe I could pot it so I could move it to a more warm area in the winter.

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

I'm looking for pelargonium / geranium cuttings, ESPECIALLY 'Appleblossom Rosebud' if anyone should happen to have it......

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Okay, frogs, there will be a 'Wooly' for you at the RU...

Who has a dragon fruit?

I do, Mark. Do you want a piece of it?
Kathleen

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Greenwytch has some pieces too.......

wcgypsy -- Truth be told, sometimes I have no idea what I want. :) I do like fragrant plants and exotic sorts of fruits. I'm looking, too, for something that will help with soil retention in a sloping area, since my efforts to grow some joint firs from seed has come to naught. And my butterfly garden could always do with a few more Asclepias.

zostropz -- I'll be bringing along some small dragonfruit seedlings.

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

greenwytch, I have seedlings of asclepias Sunny Gold and Wildfire. I'll take a lookout there and see if there's anything else.

Speaking of butterfly gardens, I'm looking for a centerpiece for mine, something tall enough to be visible behind the 2' salvias. Fragrant Mistflower/Eupatorium havanense or a nice statuesque Buddleja, maybe.

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Mark if I end up going to Tucson befroe the round up I will pick both of those up for you.

San Diego, CA

I'd love to get some dragon fruit pieces or seedlings. I've been sick so I have to try and get some stuff going tomorrow. I have some work to do.
Mark

Marie, let me know so I can bring something along.

Someone say something about camping?

What about bringing four-legged gardners?

I have some polygala myrtifolia seedlings popping up (see the tiny sprouts at the base of this plant?). Wonderful plants that grow really fast and the bees and butterflies love them. Drought tolerant and bloom all year in my area.

Ok Mark. If I do not make it down to Tucson before the swap I can still pick them up for you and just send them through the mail.

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

jackie, I'm interested in your seedlings of the polygala if I have anything listed waaay back up at the top of this thread that you might want.

Jackie, adorable picture of your four-legged gardeners!
Drdon asks that we not bring our little friends to the Roundup. There are multiple dogs at the ranch to keep us all busy patting heads, though! :-)

Interested in carpooling?

Mission Viejo, CA(Zone 10a)

Ok, Sherry. I will be transplanting them to containers probably this weekend. I'll take a look at your list :-)

Mission Viejo, CA(Zone 10a)

Thanks, Kathleen. I was confused about the event and was under the impression it was more than a day. Not sure where I got that idea! ? :-)

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

Oh, goodness, Jackie, we couldn't stand that much fun in one dose! LOL
I noticed a recent article about the first Roundup mentioned camping - did you read it there?
Look forward to seeing you.

Kathleen

Mission Viejo, CA(Zone 10a)

Kathleen, maybe so. Considering the time of year and the fact that the heat has finally arrived, I think camping is off the table for us, anyhow :-)

Mission Viejo, CA(Zone 10a)

Sherry,

I love scented geraniums! If you have any left (especially chocolate), I'd love one as well as the Korean mint :-)

With all those plants, will you be setting up a table?

Jackie

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

jackie, it varies from person to person as to whether or not they bring 'extra' plants along. We park in the field at drdon's place and the ranch hands take people and plants over in the cart. I usually bring only what has been asked for so that I'm not carrying extra and bringing back. I don't any longer have Chocolate scented. I let a lot of mine go and am now in the process of collecting them again, but I do have Filbert and Nutmeg (2 of my faves) rooted. I'll bring one of each for you and an agastache rugosa. They're 1 gal size.

I have plenty of "citronella geranium"...don't know if that's the correct name for it but it has the cute little purple flowers on it and grows like crazy and smells like cirtronella. Sherry, did I promise you some at the bbq?
I also have 3 little night blooming jessamin that anyone is welcome to. My big one has started blooming at night and the fragrance is absolutely wonderful. Alot of people think it's too strong and my dh thinks he might have an allergy to it but not me!

I will have some odds and ends - not sure yet.
I can bring cutting of http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/68322/ if anyone is interested as I am removing it.

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

You promised me some citronella, Weege - I was supposed to remind you and I forgot!

K

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

That's right...we're a good team Kathleen!

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Harold I would like one. Remember the conversation we had last year about the market collapse, sad it has come to fruition ha?
Jackie Polygala would be great if you still have some left.

Sherry if you have the jessamin left, I'd love one too.

Whoever said they need something good for xeriscape on a dry area to hold ground. I have a few of these. Attriplex Canescens (evergreen silver-green monsters and rapid growing, need little care once established and gophers hate them, too salty, they can be sheared and can grow about 6'X8'). I am training some as small ornamental trees as an experiment.

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

I am looking for Calystegia macrostegia, Aristolochia californica Sierra Giant Pipe Vine and Mariposa lilly. If any one is out and about a nursery and finds any of these would you please consider buying one for me and bringing it to the swap!! I can pay before hand if needed. Thanks!!

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

I can check Las Pilitas for you, Marie. I'll be going by there Thursday or Friday.

Kathleen

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)
