Sounds like another fantastic RU, I sure missed everyone! It would have been neat to meet Don's mom, too. Those cupcakes look scrumptious!
The Lady from Iowa was correct that the garden was not as bad as it looked. Wish I could have been there with all of you. I hope all of you had a good time.
About half of the California Natives didn't make it. Most of the California Wildflowers didn't make it either. I was hoping that they would reseed themselves next Spring. Maybe they will anyway.
I would like to say that I am so glad that all of you had a good time!!
Take care,
Chuck
Chuck, let me know if I can collect seeds or cuttings for you. I have several varieties of Sage, Manzanita, Toyon, Mimulus, etc. I didn't collect any seeds from the annuals - they disappeared in between my checks, so I too am hoping they reseed on their own.
Kathleen
Kathleen,
Thanks for the offer. Actually I am waiting for this Fall to replant. I already have a source for plants but your offer is really appreciated. I am sorry if I gave a sobering effect to the forum. I really didn't mean to.
Thanks again,
Chuck
What I meant to say is that the weather has actually stimulated some plants. I have a Miniature Rose that has twenty-two blooms. Also both of the honeysuckles (lonicera japonica and lonicera sempervirens) are growing up a storm. The fennel has started to bloom again. The lavenders (English hybrid, Spanish and French) have made it through with flying colors. The passionvines are beginning to bloom again. The Butterfly Bush is getting taller this year than ever before (last year it was twelve feet; this year who knows?).
What I was saying is that there is good with the bad as with everything in Life.
Thanks,
Chuck
Augh! I missed the roundup again!!
Next year - I'll do better next year.....
It's the last week of school (I teach) and things are just so hectic... I missed my anniversary, too.
You will be welcome.
indeed.......
