I think you've got them right, James. We've same seeds, different varieties, with the basic parents. White x pink. Peach x white, and whie x peach. I sent some of those to Robin too. So we can all compare later. :-)

Thanks Kim

Have fun James, I go outside at night to make sure mine are alright (in the pouring rain ...with a torch looking for slugs and grubs ...nearly drowned last night but got quite a few inch worms and slugs) I think we may be Brugstruck ...Lol

Chrissy, with everything you have growing down there around your house why are you trembling on those seeds. lol

I had to come back inside as it is raining so hard again ...every plant and every seed is important to me ...I am a plantaholic lol ... and I totally understand and relate to the excitement of each little sprout. I adore the new life that a little seed brings to me it is a miracle every time unless it is a triffid weed :)

Beautiful plumeria Chrissy, hope the weather will turn out sunny for you today.

Just saw this thread this morning - I planted brug seeds I received in trade. I tried to start them by putting them in a damp coffee filter and then in a plastic baggie - and then on the heating pad . . . . they were like this for about a week. Then on Jan 30, I finally decided they might be cooking, so I put them in potting soil - and I have one white brug sprouting! Of course, I will probably have to wait months for the rest LOL.

Who knew you could strip the cork off the seeds????? This year I will try to pollinate and collect seeds from my other brugs and see how stripping the cork off affect germination. :-)

Love that Plummie Chrissy, bet it smells wonderful.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Well this is interesting. Yesterday I began to soak some of the brugs' seeds. This morning I found, those large seeds still floating. But the mid-size seeds; some are sinking to the bottom.
I'm going to label those "sinkers" and the "floater" and plant them all. Will see which one germinate faster, slower, ect.

All mine are still floating, so I'm going to nick a couple of each kind and re-soak to see what that does.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Seandor; experienced growers stated that the seeds will germinate with or without stripping those seedcoats. Only we need to soak them to soften the seed cover to ease/fasten the germination process.
If we sprout these babies by a flat (versus a few), I can appreciate how taxing the stripping of the tiny seeds could be. Hope that helps?

I've this seedpod today, I'll promptly plant those seeds before they dry up, and will post result here....

Thanks for the image of the seedpod - has anyone ever posted an image of a seed pod in the Plant Files? Maybe you could do that if there isn't such an image. I know I really appreciate seeing what the pods of seeds look like, in case I want to collect seeds.

Now you know why I picked my nickname! LOL There is nothing so exciting as seeing those babiez come up! Well.. not a lot anyway..
It is an amazing experience when the very first bloom opens from one of these tiny babiez... and then if your standing there when it give out fragrance for the first time... all I can say is..

THUD...

when you get up and wipe the tears... it's amazing!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

I love my brugs - I had them for the first time last summer - my problem is what to do with all the brugs if all the seeds germinate!!!!

Well, I guess the neighbours will get some :-)

I love the fragrance, especially the white brug I had on the veranda - it's a NOID - but exquisite.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

I've no idea whether or not someone has posted pictures of seedpods on brugs. ZZ, do you know? I'd be glad to add them onto pf if there isn't any yet.

Ok, I have the planting instructions. I have some seeds that a sweet DG'r sent me. I am going to start them to soak today. Plant tomorrow. I was under the impression that they needed to be planted under the soil.
I planted some about 10 days ago, probably to deep. Do they need light to germinate? Some I peeled and some I didn't. Some didn't have anything inside and some were plump little seeds. Before I planted, I soaked them, papertowel'd them and put them in plastic bags and taped them to my window. Unfortunately my window was very cold, good light, but cold.
How moist does the soil have to be?
So many questions, I am afraid that I have messed everything up that I have done so far and don't want to mess these new ones up.
Good thread. Good information. Need more.
At my work everyone thinks I know everything, Here I feel I know nothing.
Thanks for the help.
