Enjoy your new TV Sherrie! Victor, hope your new 'puter lasts a long time. Do you have a wireless internet connection? It's fun to play with the laptop in the garden.
Water Cooler - 5
Thanks Harper. I do, but I also ran an ethernet cable up to it.
Is the ethernet cable faster than using the wireless?
Usually. My wireless card caused a slowdown after a while. I changed cards and it improved but it really zoomed when I ran the wire.
I ought to plug in my ethernet and give it a go.
Where do you get an ethernet and what is it?
You already have it - it's the cable connection to your computer.
So if I'm connected to cable, which I am, how would I change it to ethernet? Or, how would I know if I have it or not? To me it's just cable as in cable for TV.
No you don't need to change anything. Ethernet is just the cable that connects from cable modem to your computer. My notebook was upstairs so I had to run an additional cable to connect the computer if I did not want to rely on the wireless.
Thanks.
No problem!
The ethernet plug to your 'puter looks like an oversized telephone plug.
Harper - I have more wires and plugs here than I can believe.
That's the price of technology!
Oh, yeah. Sorry.
I overheard my kids talking about where babies come from. The nine year old told the five year old that God puts them in Mommy's belly. The five year old asked, 'How does the baby get in there?'. His brother said. 'I'm not too sure about that part but I think God just makes a hole, puts the baby in, and then covers the hole back up'. Isn't that great?!
Much easier to comprehend than the real facts of life.
I once saw a cartoon of a mother and father talking at the dinner table. The mother said she told their son the facts and he never wants to speak to either of them again. I'm sure it comes as quite a shock for kids.
That's too cute Victor!
Thanks. Yes - especially if they find out too early.
Victor, you should submit that to Reader's Digest!
Victor, you reminded me of an email I got recently.
Daddy - How was I born
A little boy goes to his father and asks "Daddy, how was I born?"
The father answers, "Well, son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway! Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo. Then I set up a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe. We sneaked into a secluded room, where your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive. As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said:
"You got Male!" (at this point there was a picture of the cutest little baby that popped up)
I've seen that one, Celeste - cute!
Celeste, beautiful baby pic!
Victor cute story.
A report came out yesterday saying that depression in your 40's is universal and cuts across all demographic lines. The good news, according to the study, is that if you are healthy at age 70, you will be just as happy as when you were 20! Guess 90 is ecstasy.
if you are healthy at age 70, you will be just as happy as when you were 20!
Now THAT is depressing - it makes me think of all those people who say high school is the best years of your life!
Well as a fellow Mets fan, Amy, we have very exciting news today - we now have the best pitcher in baseball! Hooray!!!!
but i'll miss tom glavine...
I like him too but he's well past his prime.
My niece was over yesterday. She's in kindergarten and, obviously, short.
She, her sister, and my BIL (the widowed one) live with my MIL down the street. My MIL's dad, "Grampy Stewart", also lives with them. He's 98, still drives his car, and complains about the "old people who drive too slow"!
So the niece says, "Y'know, Grampy is awful short, and he walks too slow." (as she demonstrated his shuffle!).
Sherrie, how come Al Kaprilean isn't in that shot?
Also, I wouldn't mind having that tv for the superbowl!
I like him too but he's well past his prime.
ahem.
i beg to differ (my opinion may, however, be based on different criteria...)
Word has it he hasn't had a complete game in some time...
He needs a closer?
I was leaving that to Amy.
Smooth VG. ☺!
DH says if the Pats don't win, the season wasn't worth it. ??? x, C
Did you hear that Jordin Sparks is singing the national anthem? She won American Idol last year, and her dad plays for the Giants!
I hope it's a good luck charm for the Giants.
