I heard too. Didn't know who he was until they mentioned the movies (didn't see either). Good chance my cop friend is on the case.
Water Cooler - 5
Really? Tell us the inside scoop when you hear it.
Will do. Doubt there's much mystery here with the pills found.
Yeah, but I don't want to believe it. : (
I liked him in 'A Knight's Tale' that was so funny...☺
He was also in Monster's Ball, and that new Bob Dylan movie... He just finished shooting the next Batman movie (as the Joker).
He was a really excellent actor, and i wouldn't have thought him to be the type to OD - when he and Michelle Williams were together, they seemed to be a relatively sane non-Hollywood family (they had a daughter) - i think they lived in Brooklyn.
Amy, Hadn't they split up?
I wouldn't jump too fast on the drugs. The press is immoral in spreading unfounded stories.
yes - they split up last year.
I heard the autopsy was inconclusive - now they have to wait for the toxicology report. Such a shame and he was only 28.
Two NE writers today! Debbie (rcn) and 3gardeners. Check them out.
Great. I'll go read them right now.
Update on my kids: I
've got Becky (5th grade) going to public school part-time now for "support". I usually start her at the beginning of the school year, but this year we integrated Katherine (9th) into H.S. one class at a time. I had to drive K back and forth alot the first half of the year which left no time to drive B, so I just waited until after K was going full-time. And, she's doing great there!
For those of you that don't know (or don't remember), they both have Asperger's Syndrome. They were both tested last year. Becky "has it", and Katherine has it just a little - not enough for an IEP or special services, but just enough to be considered "quirky". She's been on meds for anxiety (family trait) and they have worked a miracle in her personality and emotions.
I still home school Becky, but she goes to P.S. for speech, occupational therapy, and "counseling" - all once a week; one class each day in the Support Room (special ed.); and she's taking an Art class this year once a week - mainly so she can be around "normal" kids to help with socialization skills.
Good luck! My younger son was 'developmentally delayed' and attended a great integrated class last year in preparation for K. He made great advances and is doing well in K. Still a bit behind in OT and some behaviors, but we're very happy and grateful that he's come this far. He was a preemie, which could have played a role.
Yeah, good luck and good going Sue! My close friend's son has Asperger's and I've known him since he was very little. He's 12 now. You sound like a wonderful mom.
Congratulations on being such a great dad, too, Victor.
Mr Ledger is a sad story in my books. I really enjoyed him as an actor and it is so sad his life was cut short. I do think it was an accidental overdose or mixture of drugs that lead to his death...I think it is so tragic that him family learned of his death from the media and not from a personal phone call!!!! Yes Heath and his financee did split up last year! Yes I am up on the news!
Good luck with everything Sue - that has to be tough!
Thanks Harper.
Wow Sue. My hat is off to you. You really have had your hands full. How has your school system been with meeting their needs?
I find it so interesting. I never noticed how many ways there are to be 'schooled' before now.
I always get "schooled" on a basketball court.
It has been pointed out that, "Childrens do learn when standards are high and results are measured."
Dave, my town is very supportive of home schoolers. I just send them my curriculum choices and schedule every August, and they send back suggestions, which I can take or leave - always leave!
i'm glad. a cooperative school system makes such a difference. Especially for kids with special needs.
Okay, Victor, time to send the folks home and get back to your friends!
I read your "Man's Garden" article - I think I'll make dh read it! And tell the truth - are those your abs? If so, you're definitely going to Michaela's sleep-over! LOL!
Finally got rid of the parents! Hee hee - just kidding. I enjoy every moment with them.
Thanks Sue. The identity of Pitchfork Man is a closely held secret.
Fine form, Mr Pitchfork Man. You didn't use a double did you? Patti
Can't comment.
I know who will be taking his shirt off at the next RU!
Ooh - can't touch that one!
Victor, was that one of those self portraits that you doctored?
Victor - neither can "we".
Good one Yankee! The truth will come out sooner or later, huh?
Celeste, that is the most precious baby photo I've ever seen - even over my own kids!
Thanks Sue, I don't know who took the picture but I love it!
How cute!
Absolutely beautiful, Celeste!
Hi guys - stopping by to say hi now back to work! Agreed - being even an adequate parent is REALLY tremendously hard work, never mind if you or your child are in any small or large way disabled. xx, Carrie
Putting this one here. I have not done it yet but I think it is worth checking out.

I've seen that site. Never tried it though.
I am looking forward to receiving the notebook computer I ordered over the weekend. I finally get out of this cold dungeon! Spent a bit more than I had anticipated, but it has lots of everything - hard drive space, memory, fast processor and a nice display.
It looks like it is worth it. First two things. Why do I have to download the printing? Or is it just active X. Second - I would never give my true email out. MS Hot Mail or Yahoo. I will do it in time.
I spent too much money this weekend also. Not on a comp but a tv. & stand, and surround system. Not that we need it but wanted it. It's replacing a tv, 15 years old. The old one is going in the bedroom, as that one is crapping out and is also 15 years old.
