Stop and visit, talk all you want. Pt 12

(Zone 7a)

Okay, I want you to stay there.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Well, after some Tylenol! :)

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Mau, the color is Benjamin Moore, Dorset Gold. You'll find the color chip in the Historical color sections. I like the color too. Well, I love the color...LOL I like this room without all the stuff in it too.

Which reminds me, the t.v. that my husband and new oh joy BIL carried upstairs that will only get the upper channels? I have a repairman coming next Mon. He thinks it could just be a broken ground connection and a weld joint. I've been told I'm silly to have this 10 yr. old set fixed though, it's not HD after all. I don't know about any of you, but our cable company isn't offering any channels in HD. Would be nice if they did, but so far, they aren't. The picture on those upper channels is crisp and clear though. It seems a shame not have it fixed.

Celia, keep looking for the spoon and the fork that are molded and twined together to form a cross. In a little baggie ☺

Janis, glad to hear you're doing a little bit better. Do the Wrangler's have 4-wheel drive like the Cherokee's? My dad has had 2 Cherokee's and they drive really good on the snow...and the ice!

Tammy, again with the chili!! Why do you insist on torturing me with the thought of a nice hot bowl of some yummy chili?? LOL

Is anybody warm? My hands and my legs and feet are freezing. My nose is cold too ;( Think I'll go jump in a nice warm shower...

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Sorry Terry, we eat a lot of Chili in the cold months around here! I could always freeze and mail some to you, because it would still be frozen when it got there! HA HA HA
Nope, not warm, it is freezing outside!

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

I'm not sure about all the Wranglers, but this one is 4WD. Mike bought it new for his son, but son is moving to Alabama next month, and wants the truck instead. I love Jeeps, but with 4 kids, its just not practical for me. We looked at a Grand Cherokee before we bought the Trail Blazer, but it needed a lot of work, and I still would really like something that seats more than 5. Something like a Suburban... but the gas mileage would be even worse than the Trail Blazer. I loved the Ford Excursion they had a few years back, but they only made them for 2 years, and that would be even a worse gas hog than a Suburban LOL There is a girl that lived down the street from me in Adena that had an Excursion, and I drooled every time I saw it (saw it today as a matter of fact LOL)

Tammy, I missed something, what did you do to your back??

Terry, I love that paint color too. Did I tell you guys the kitchen is painted now?? The color is Willow Wind.

Excuse the mess, still waiting to get the floor done and I'm not much worried about the mess until then LOL

This one shows the paint color better.

I'm not happy with the curtains, but I have an idea for them :)

Well, shoot, posted the same pic twice, sorry :(

Here is the one that shows the color better

Very nice, Janis!
Well, I was carrying a stupid steam cleaner last week up a hill and my knee went out and I lost my balance. Luckily there was a tree to catch me so I didn't land on my fanny! I have hurt ever since, but moving all those plants and shelving around today didn't help a bit! Then buying all the groceries, but I was hungry! LOL

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Hi everyone!
Yes.....plenty cold here! But I think it got up to 32 today...now back into the teens!
I like both room colors! But I have to say..I am partial to the willow! My kitchen cupboards are willow! They were dark green, but I got tired of it last year....and painted them.
About Jeep Cherokees. I am STILL driving mine! I love it! Best vehicle I EVER had!! It's old, but it still looks new...and drives that way too. But I have always kept the oil changed on time...and that goes a long way to keeping them in running order!
Hope you all feel better if you are sick.....and keep warm!!!
Huggs to all ....Marcy

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Okay, Tammy, if you won't listen to Celia then listen to Doctor Mau--Take it easy!!
Chili sounds good to me, too, but Pau and I had brisket sandwiches for supper already. Plus white cheese dip and chips. (No-calorie cheese dip, of course!! LOL)

Well, at least your wrist isn't broken, Janis. BTW, I hope you look good in "black and blue". (sorry--I couldn't resist) At first, I read your post about the kitchen the wrong way. I thought you said "the guys' kitchen is painted" instead of "you guys the kitchen is painted" and I was going to ask you if the guys had their own kitchen and the girls had their own kitchen! LOLOL That Willow Wind is a nice color.

Celia, I did look at my mouse--no dust bunnies in there. I just have to click on it several times before it will do anything.

Terry, after Feb. 2009, the old analog tvs won't work unless you do have cable.
I am so glad you have a paint with an actual name--that will make it a lot easier for me to find it--plus Benjamin Moore is a good brand. After I put on my third pair of socks, my feet finally got warm. I can't believe we are going back down into the 20's tonight--24º according to the weatherman!! At least we have no wet stuff on the roads at this point in time and none expected later tonight, either.
Y'all have a good evening.
Mau

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Huggs to you, too Marcy! We cross-posted.

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Hi Marilyn!!! :))

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

I have never had a Jeep Cherokee but I do have a Lincoln Mark VIII and you may not believe this, but it is 15 years old and has 186,000 miles on it and still going! It gets about 22 MPG in town and more than 30MPG on the highway. It doesn't look like it is 15 years old, though, because Lincoln didn't change the body style of that car for years. They were still making them just like it in 2000 at least. It has been absolutely the very best car I have ever had. Just thought I would throw in that bit of information as long as we were talking about cars. LOL

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hi Marcy!
Yes Dr. Mau! Not doing a thing now other than irritating people with the Spelling Bee! HE HE HE The chili was good, but I think a Zantac will be in order before bed! LOL

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Hi Tammy! Hope you don't overdo with the back! I like chili...but it doesn't much like me...lol! That said...we do have it now and then. Dave loves it, of course, like most men do!!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

I think I have learned my lesson the hard way! But darn it, my plants were calling my name, then my belly kept hollering at me! LOL

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Mau, I found this off the web

Quoting:
Q: But that means 50% of Americans don't have digital TV sets. That seems like a high number, considering how in 13 months all analog over-the-air broadcasting will stop.

A: It's true that 50% of American homes have digital TV sets. But more than 85% subscribe to a video provider, such as cable or satellite. None of those 85% will be affected by the digital transition, because they don't receive their television signals over the air. The only households that will be affected are those who don't have a digital TV, and who also receive their television signals over the air. That's about 11% of American households today.

So it would appear that the cable company has to provide a converter box to those that don't have a digital t.v. I'd really have to check with this t.v. I know we had what the cable company called digital cable when we bought this t.v. They've been talking about digital cable for a really long time.

Janis, I was trying to remember how old the first Cherokee was that my dad had. It seems like it was from the late 80's or early 90's. I'm not sure how many miles it had on it, I know over 100k. They just don't put many miles on a vehicle. And this is the vehicle I drove down to AR for them to have and drive while down at their 2nd home. The one he has now, was just bought used last year. I'm sure it's a '06. And again, I'm not sure on miles. He won't get many being in AR. I will also say that when our daughter and I stayed there for 3 weeks last year (oops, '06), I had driven my dads pick-up truck down. I noticed that the oil hadn't been changed in over a year. It wasn't due on the mileage part, but the date part was more than a year. He does that all the time. He won't on his Beemer, but he will on vehicles he bought used. They do seat 5 very comfortably. I like the paint color too. As you can see though, I'm drawn more to the deep dark colors for my home. The foyer and the upstairs alcove, hallway and back area are the only light colors in this house. I take that back. Our daughter has had her room painted every color under the sun. She changes her mind after about 6 months, or when I'm done painting, she says how pretty it would be if it was this color next. Sigh. So I gave up here. I painted her walls in Lancaster Whitewash. That way she can change out her comforter and I'm not re-painting walls every 3 months. Or listening to her saying she wants her walls painted every 3 months.

Tammy, the chili gives me the worst indigestion possible. I'd rather give birth than have that pain. It's that bad. I can't eat any Mexican food at all. Anything with chili powder or cumin in it, I can't eat. The South is famous for it's b-b-q., but it doesn't actually come with b-b-q sauce on it, so I was o.k. in that regard. But places up in the North put the b-b-q sauce on. I can't eat them. 9 times out of 10, I'll be doubled over in pain before the meal is even finished.

My car is 10 yrs old this year. She's got 107,000 miles on her. I hope to have her for a very very long time. She's a '98 Mustang. Loaded.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Terry, thank stinks! This has Chili Powder and Cumin in it, so would just kill you!

(Zone 7a)

I had to make chili and it's your fault, Tammy! LOL We finished it off with cornbread and peaches. Mmm...

I had a 1994 Nissan pickup until I wrecked it in 2005. I loved that little truck. It would slip a bit on ice but it kept on "truckin"! I don't think I could do without my 4WD now.

I'll keep looking for the little cross, Terry.

Marcy, HI !!!

Hi, Mau!!!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Celia, how about the cranberry sauce and bread? LOL

(Zone 7a)

I had that last night before bed. I had the best dream. Mmm...mmm...

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

You know what's hilarious? Seeing me make chili. I can't taste it, so I go by looks. My husband has never said it's either too hot or too mild, so go figure. A few drops of Tabasco sauce is also very good in chili. sigh. now i'm really hungry for chili and it is all your fault Tammy!! waaaaaaaa

(Zone 7a)

Tammy's fault! Tamyy's fault! Tammy's fault!!! LOL

That's funny, Terry. Too bad you can't eat it.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

OOPS! Sorry! LOL Now I am eating a bowl of sugar puffs! HA HA HA Counteracting the Chili! HE HE HE
Terry, does he ever make a face when he eats it? LOL

(Zone 7a)

My DH makes a yummy face.

And Mau, I knew you would have checked that on your mouse already but I had to ask because mine gets cat hairs and stuff in it.

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Well girls.....interesting conversations here...lol...but I am off to bed!.
BTW....my jeep has about 157,000 miles on it....and I am hoping it holds on forever.....lol! It gets to be in the garage while hubby's truck sits out!! But that's his own fault, because he has too much junk in the garage!!!!!!!
Hope all the chili sets well in those tummies!!!!! See you all tomorrow!
Night night!

(Zone 7a)

Good night, Marcie!!! Sleep well.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

LOL Marcy! Night night!

(Zone 7a)

I think I'm going to curl up with a book and a blanket. It's 16º out and it feels almost that in here!

I was in the baclyard and looked up when I heard a noise and saw this!!!

Thumbnail by kwanjin
Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Watch out, you are being attacked by Dinosaurs! HA HA HA

(Zone 7a)

I looked around some more and saw this...

Thumbnail by kwanjin
Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

OH NO, now it is terradactyls!

(Zone 7a)

On I went into the front and what did I spy?

Thumbnail by kwanjin
Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

RUN, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE Celia!

(Zone 7a)

Off I ran toward the house, jumping over and pushing dinosaurs out of my way!!! I ran and ran and ran!!!

Finally, in the house! Whew! Safe at last. Or was I?

I turned and saw the most fearsome creature of all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Wiping the tears from my eyes while I wait to see what you are so scared of now!

(Zone 7a)

A most frightening beast!!! Ready to leap upon my vulnerable flesh and tear me to shreds!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA..............................

Wait? Is that Monty?

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Monty, that poor, poor kitty cat! HA HA HA

(Zone 7a)

I think it is Monty.

Thumbnail by kwanjin
Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Shame on you for thinking it was some horrible beast! HE HE HE
