It's time once again for the, what seems like daily, new thread.

We came from here...

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

I'm here! :)

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Whew!! Trying to keep up with you girls is something else!!
Good morning everyone! Well...let's see what I can remember from the other thread since I had posted last.
LOL....not much!
Sorry to hear about that murder for sure, Celia! Loved that early morning snow picture. It looks like it should be on a Christmas card!!
Marilyn!! What a beautiful sunrise!! I have to say....I haven't been seeing any sunrises...lol. Haven't been sleeping very well at night, and when I do go to sleep, it makes me late getting up...which I hate. I am really a morning person....and like to be up early.
Terry....that is a beautiful fox!!! Sometimes, they aren't very pretty up close..at least around here. If they don't eat well...they are skinny and straggely looking. One winter when we had our farm, we had a fox that came right up on our front porch to eat dry cat food. He must have been really hungry! And the cats just let him eat, like it was no big deal!
Well....I STILL haven't managed to put more minutes on my new cell phone! I have tried...both online and on the phone itself. It keeps telling me the system is down??????? I am going to take the darn card back to Wallyworld today, and see what's up with that???
Marilyn, you asked a while back about the music I was getting. Yes..they are mp3s. Then I go on Paltalk and play music in a music room. It's fun!
I think it was 16 degrees here this morning when we got up...but was probably lower before that. It's cold...I know that!!
Ok...off to find some lunch, and get things moving here....meaning ME!! LOL! Have a great day all!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey, Marcy! Have a good one!

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Sorry I missed you, Marcy. I was actually up doing something constructive--emptying the clean dishes from the dishwasher and then putting the dirty dishes into it. Do you ever feel guilty if you are not up doing housework or something? Nah? Me, neither!! LOL
The older I get, the lazier I get--age does have its privileges!! LOL

Before I posted, this thread said there had been 13 views and 2 replies so where are the other 11 of you viewers? I know one of them must be Beckie lurking about to see what Tammy is doing!!! Right, Beckie? LOL

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

LOL Mau! I am sure Beckie was one, but I bet there are more! HA HA HA

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Eating your lasagna for you, Mau!

(Zone 7a)

Me again! Sorry, I had to take a nap. Now I have to go to work.

Bye, girls. wish me luck. The weather is clearing up a little but the driving part is going to be scary.

Good to see you again, Marcy.

We need to hear from Judy and Ruby and I know there're others.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Be careful out there Missy!

Glenview, IL

Good Day!
Somebody called?
I was up till 3 AM...showing off my girls artistic works.

Anyway I do owe you a story...But first I have got to say what incredible photos of the Fox. Beautiful creature.

Story time...
DH and I went to Devil's Tower back before we had kids. We used to drive all around the Country and South Dakota was one of 11 states we visited. So somehow we got lost trying to find Devils Tower...can you imagine missing that? Well by the time we found our way back to the right road...it had gotten real late and we just wanted to stop and sleep. So we found this State park that you could find a place to camp after hours...you just fill out a paper and pay the box $5.00, so we did this and parked. It was so late we decided to just sleep in the van and be on our way the next morning. Hahaha, we had no clue as to where we were at the moment. So next morning, we awoke somewhere around noon. Both got out of the van and What an eye opener! There was Devils Tower. We AWESTRUCK at the sheer Magnificance of this structure. So set up camp and the off we went to explore....We laughed having spent the best 5 bucks on the whole trip...
Now, we well fast forward to just 5 years ago...We travelled with our Kids to Grand Tetons. Oh gosh, they were hysterical that we wanted to see "rocks" They enjoyed the trip but they didn't beleive us when we told them of the tower. Just could'nt imagine anything like it. hahaha, We told them how it was real a place when they saw it on Close Encounters...So, off we went to see Devils Tower and my very leery children saw for their very selves this Giant rock. They stood a marveled at it's structure and it turned out to be their Favorite "rock" on the entire trip! Can you beleive they slept and or read all through the bad lands. hahaha, i would say wow the colors...and my eldest just said so it's a pretty colored rock. Oh man, some day she will go back and appreciate Nature. Anyway, we camped at the very site that DH and i stumbled on years before...Had such a wonderful time playing frisbee in the field below the tower. We watched a deer jump a huge fence and i even cought that on film. Will try and locate those pics...Well, it was also a time my eldest was healing from a traumatic incident and Being there was so very theraputic for her and us... Just my memories..
Thanks for reading my stories.

...So it is absolutley freezing and I am off to make coffee. Hope you are all having a warm and comfy day...Yum Lasagna!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

LOVED the story, thanks for sharing it! Not warm and cozy, but took an extra bite or two of lasagna for you, too! :)

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

I love foxes. We had one that came to visit us all the time at our previous house up here. But like Mau, this was a semi-rural, yet in town, subdivision. Here I'm smack dab in the middle of town. If the other people in town saw a fox, I'm sure they'd shoot it. And that's just sad. I don't even know why the fox always visited our house, but s/he was always laying in the front yard. Beautiful magnificent creature. My friend called this morning, so I told him I posted 2 of his photos on here. He didn't mind, thank goodness!! LOL I'm trying to figure out, how much you think it would cost to move our house out in the country? My parents have enough land, surely they'd let me have some of the bottom part for this grand old lady to sit?

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

As long as you are moving your house, Terry, move it down here. I have six acres on which you can put it. (Did you read that grammatically correct sentence, Celia?--LOL) I can hear you now, Terry. You are saying, "Yeah, right! So your SIL can shoot me?" (Terry knows that story but it is too long and involved to go into it here.)
I loved your story, Judy. My DH and I drove through South Dakota 4 years ago. How did we happen to miss Devil's Tower? We saw a lot of the southern portion of S.D. Our first stop was at the Lewis & Clark Marina & Resort. Stayed one night there then we headed up to the Mitchell Corn Palace and then on west to the Pioneer Auto Show and Antique Town. Then we went to Mount Rushmore and drove through the Pigtail Bridges on Iron Mountain Road. We stayed in a nice lodge at Custer State Park where we saw our first real, live buffalo--huge animals! The next day we drove to Spearfish Canyon. We stayed there for two nights. Spearfish Canyon is where the winter scene of Dances With Wolves was filmed. It is a beautiful place and the lodge there is something to see--gorgeous architecture!! Then we went up to the Homestake gold mIne before going on into Wyoming. We never went north of I-90, so if Devil's Tower is to the north, that is the reason we missed it.

Lasagna is still sounding good, Tammy. Shame on you for making me drool!! LOL

It's still cold here, too, Judy. I am working on my "umpteenth" cup of coffee for the day. I have never had so much coffee in my life as I have this winter! I keep a pot going all day--decaff, of course.

Hope you made it to work without mishap, Celia, and back home, too!

The kids here were out of school today for the MLK holiday. My DGD called and wanted me to take her to her third riding lesson. I couldn't believe she wanted to take a riding lesson as cold as it was today but I told her if Ms. Kirsten wanted to give her a lesson, then I would take her. Ms. Kirsten said yes, so I picked up DGD and dropped her off at the stables and then went grocery shopping. Then I went and picked up DGD and took her home. This was the last of the 3 lessons which Pau and I gave her for Christmas. Now she is wanting to take more lessons so I told her to start saving her money!! Her birthday doesn't roll around until September and Pau and I aren't growing a money tree in the back yard. LOL

Guess I'll go wrap up in a blanket and watch some TV. Talk to y'all later.
Mau

I may have already posted this photo of DGD at her 2nd riding lesson but I can't remember and I am too lazy to go back to the other threads to try and find it. So if y'all have seen it before, here it is again. LOL

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Sorry, Mau! LOL It didn't seem as good as normal really. I think he was sneaky and put in some rosemary, of which I don't care for, and neither does my tummy! Your DGD looks tickled pink to be with that pony!

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Uh Mau, about that land you got down there..I would get access..how exactly?☺♥

Well I'm annoyed. Just watched the news. Seems they're thinking a wolf is over in Moline IL. It got a hold of a deer and tore it up, pretty much shredded it, but hey, that's what a wolf is supposed to do. This guy, not sure where he was representing, thinking the Conservation and Wildlife, said "they wouldn't know what it was that killed the deer until it could be observed or killed". Killed? They want to kill it, why? That's just so annoying. We encroach on their land, yet the wolf is bad for doing what a wolf does?

Tammy, our former neighbor was a home-ec teacher. The woman can cook the best food your mouth will ever taste. She baked some bread for me, it was delivered this morning. It is to die for. Anyway, she told me years ago that with Rosemary, there's a rule. That rule is "a little goes a long way". I've never forgotten that and use it sparingly. I've never used Rosemary in lasagna, I'm not quite sure the purpose of it in there?

(Zone 7a)

Pssst! Mau? Devil's Tower is in Wyoming. And what cutey-patutey! Love the pony, too.

Hi! I'm finally home. DH is nowhere to be found. Oh, wait, he said he was going to his mum's. He has to clear her driveway of snow. Not real sure why. She never lets anyone park there. She doesn't have a car, either.

Thanks for the stories, Judy. Memories are such fun to share.

Isn't it sad that some peoples first instinct, when they see a wild animal, is to shoot it?

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Wow way too much to catch up on. You all were very busy the last couple of days.
The fox picture is awesome. I have been up since 2:00am and am now headed back to slumber land i hope. My youngest said is tummy hurt and I should of listened!!!

Good morning all!!!

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Hey all, I'm still alive, cold but alive. It's a balmy 32 here this AM LOL. Better than the below 0 wind chills we had this weekend. BRRRRRR I am not a cold weather person at all, and I've been curled up with a blanket, mumbling things a lady (or even a sailor) shouldn't say anytime I have had to go out.

Still reading, Marie, so sorry about the Puke-A-Palooza at your house, my sister and her 5 kids had it too.

Celia, sorry about the murder... that is just so sad.

I'm not awake enough to remember what else is going on, sorry :((

Got an appointment with my orthopedist at 9, so if I don't come home and crash I'll post to tell you what he says. My wrist is still a mess, but my shoulder and ribs (from my face plant in the yard last week) are better.

Somehow I managed to not post at all on thread 11 LOL

Hugs,
Janis

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Morning all. No school for baby girl today. :( She is still sounding kind of yucky in her sleep, so going to keep her home. Stay warm, and be good! HA HA HA

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Good morning, everyone!
Celia, so Devil's Tower is in Wyoming? We went through Wyoming, too, and missed it there! LOL Saw parts of Yellowstone (Old Faithful--Pau was not impressed--said he could do the same thing with a water hose--yeah, right! LOL) and the Tetons--stayed two nights at Togawatee (sp?) Mountain Lodge--went on a 2 hour horseback ride--gorgeous scenery, great food at the Lodge, etc., etc. When we left the Lodge it was 42º ( in the middle of June) and when we got to Kansas the next day, it was 104º!!!
Marie and Tammy--sorry to hear about your sick children--hope they are better soon.
Janis, glad you are back and posting some! Let us know what the orthopedic doc says. I was just thinking that if Mike wants to move to Florida, you should enter the BHG Dream Home contest--it is in Florida this year. You can enter every day until the middle of February and even if you win the house and don't want it, you can always sell it. The total package is worth 2.2 million! I would take that! LOL Terry, we are trying to get access to our land--its a long process, though. :o((

It's not as cold here as it has been the last couple of mornings. It was actually 36ºF on my back porch a little while ago. That sounds like a regular heat wave after the 20º weather we have had!! LOL

(Zone 7a)

Good morning, everyone!

7º and clear today. I went outside to put something in the mailbox and it didn't feel that cold. Got my coffee and the cats are crying at me for some reason. Monty is being the loudest but Isis pushes harder. LOL

Janis, yes, pleases let us know. The bruises from your fall must be pretty colorful by now. Did your truck get fixed?

Thanks for the pic on the other thread, Marie. Daffodil? Sorry about the little one.

Mau, I can travel this whole planet and not see what I was looking for! LOL Devil's Tower was one of those my DB had to make a side trip so we could see it.

Hi, Tammy!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Mau.
Hi Celia!

(Zone 7a)

Hi! (waving hard)!!!!!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Careful, might hurt your arm! HA HA HA Having TERRIBLE computer problems here!

(Zone 7a)

What's it doing (or not doing) now?

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Stupid thing keeps giving me an illegal operation and shutting me down!!! We still don't have the other one fixed, and may never, if we don't get the disk back!!!!

(Zone 7a)

Mine does that on occassion. I think it's my browser that does it, though.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

All I do know is I am sick of having computer trouble!!!!!

(Zone 7a)

I hate it when the thing decides it's going to open a pic or go to a new thread and it says it's "Done" on the bottom but I have a blank screen.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Oh I have been having that, too! Think I will go back to the green house and finish up, and SCREAM! LOL

(Zone 7a)

Okay. I have a TON of stuff to do today, too. I think I'll do NONE of it, though. I have 4 days off at the end of the week so I'll do them then.

Have a good day, girl.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

LOL Celia, right back at you! :)

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

I'm so excited!! Celia, stop looking for my shelf!! My husband found it downstairs in a box by the furnace. He assured me he'd gone thru everything down there. It was in a box with a sheet over it, right next to my Scroll saw. All by it's lonesome. So take a look, we got them hung......

Thumbnail by terryr
Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Perseverence pays off, Terry! The whole room looks great! I love that wall color.
DH and I are thinking about painting our kitchen that color. He painted it just a year ago-a boring creamy beige because we thought we were going to be selling this house soon. Well, our plans have changed so we can paint it blue, green or purple if we want to--NOT! However, we both love the color on your walls. Did you have to have it mixed or does it have a name/number we can take to our local paint store?
Sorry about your computer problems, Tammy. I have been having some with my computer, too--mostly with my mouse. As I said on one of the previous threads--I think this poor mouse is about "clicked out". I forgot to get a new one when I went to wally world last week.

Even though it is not as cold today, my feet are still cold. I think I need to go and put on a third pair of socks! LOL BBL
Mau

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Ok, all, orthopedist says brace for another 2 weeks, then 4 weeks of physical therapy, and I go back to see him in a month. Sigh. They took new X Rays, he says he can't see anything, and maybe I injured a tendon. I'm a little colorful from the fall, but not too bad.

No word yet on whether or not the Trail Blazer is totaled. The body shop got it Saturday but Mike didn't hear anything. Hopefully no news is good news. I won't have it back for at least a week, though, if it is fixable. It takes 3 days to get ordered parts, and then the time it takes to fix it. I miss my remote starter, and I don't like driving Mikes truck in the snow :( Driving the van in the snow is worse though, and we're selling the truck to Mike's son, and getting back the 2006 Jeep Wrangler. I don't like the thought of driving the Wrangler in the snow either, afraid I'll wreck it too LOL

Its cold here, and freezing rain, and I'm just wiped.. not sure why, unless it was just the stress of having to drive on the nasty roads.

Hope you are all well, and warm :)

Hugs,
Janis

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Just stopped in for a quick hello! Went to the store and got TONS of food, and now my back really hurts! That, and moving all those plants around, was NOT a good thing. :(
Mau, I HATE THIS COMPUTER! 'sigh'
Janis, I sure hope you get better soon!
Terry, glad you found your shelf!

(Zone 7a)

Tammy, you need to sit! That's a order! LOL

Terry, I'm glad I can stop looking. I was getting tired. Love the little koala!

Janis, glad they didn't find anything serious. (That was a joke)

Mau, I know you said you looked at replacing your mouse but have you opened the bottom of it and cleaned the little ball inside?

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Yes Ma'am! LOL I am making Chili for supper, then I will. :)

(Zone 7a)

I think I'll make chili too! Sounds great.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Shaun actually took over so I could sit down. :) I really hurt, so I think once I eat I am kicking back on the couch!
