CLOSED: Second Chance Wishlist Swap #5

South/Central, FL(Zone 9a)

Yes, I saw BlueS's wish list. I wish I had those kinds of things to give her. : )
You will find them all, just keep looking. lol ; )
Blind, yet?

Nelson, NH(Zone 5a)

Try again KD-you need to cut and post from your "edit" not your post.Suxy I think I got that calendula from the last swap. I'm not sure.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

You can never have too many LOL

Did I say they are edible?

And it's an herbal remedy for somehting or other, I think maybe you make a tea from the leaves and it makes you thinner, and I think if you eat the flowers it takes away gray hai,r and if you bake the leaves in brownies you get high...I forget, something like that.

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

I should start eating my calendula sure would save me a lot at the hair dressers never ending battle for this gray hair lol

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

Quoting:
Speaking of which, doesn't anybody need a perfectly wonderful, driect sow flower that blooms super early? Yes, folks, it's Calendula Citrus Cocktail!

Sure Suzy.... toss it in my can. and can toss in plenty of "extras" too.

Polkton, NC(Zone 7b)

I would love to have some thank you!!

Polkton, NC(Zone 7b)

And I can add to that tcs, that in zone 7 they will hide when it gets real hot, but then reward you with blooms almost all winter long. A very cheerful site in december!

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Suzy can I ask how many tagged items should I have? I have reached my amount of seeds I'm sending and I don't want to request any more seeds if there is a limit. But I saw some great stuff on starlights list.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

KD, Your second envie arrived today, but no signs of the first one.

Frau Snow, Yours is in town, but true to the laws of nature, the mail lady wouldn't get out of her truck because the dog was out.

TCS & Ansonfan, I'm getting your Calendula pulled as soon as I press send.

There is more Calendula :))

Meredith, It is a 1 for 1 swap, so you can only request how ever many seeds you send in. HOWEVER, it is also a wishlist swap, so you can add them all to your wishlist when you send it in (don't change your posted wishlist now, we are already on draft #6 OMG!!!). Or I suppose you could runto Wal-Mart, Lowe's, the garden center, or wherever and buy some seeds and split the packs to make 3 or 4...I guess it depends on how much you want to make sure you get something.

BTW, Don't count WZ's seeds in the total....those are "free" (free for postage, anyway) . If you were counting those, then you have more room for pack requests.

Meredith -- I am probably receiving twice as much as I sent in. I just did not have as much to offer as others... and there are SOOOO many seeds out there up for swap.

Nelson, NH(Zone 5a)

Suzy, I didn't mean to call you Suxy! Woops! Just wanted let everyone know the ech. razzmatazz is gone. I'm at a friends and I have no chance to update my list until later. Suzy, I'm not sure what kind of calendula am getting, but that pic is sure pretty if you have more. : )
I have used herbal rememdies for years and calendula is mostly used topically. Really good for healing!

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

When I asked for tagged stuff I thought it would help with suzy's daunting task of sorting everything out.
My wishlist is so long- but I made it so if there were any leftovers -y'd know which ones I would make a home for. I didn't expect I'd get half that many back! Everyones being so generous. Thank You everyone.
Now I don't want to be a pig but I would love some Baptisia australis seed from starlight -and I gotta give an oink!

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Meridith.. what ya want? let me try and make a wish come true for you and have space to put a package of cheese in my fridge without first havign to move a bunch of seeds. LOL

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Ok Meridith, gotta ya, guess we was postign at the same time.

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

>>and I gotta give an oink!

that's just so funny. many of us are OINK'in

**shaking pompoms** Gimme an O, Gimme an I, Gimme an N, Gimme a K .... what's that spell?? O I N K

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Well, you know, I am not looking insdie of tagged packages, if Starligth wants to sneak you seeds, how would I know? All I know is the total eachperonson puts on the outside of your envelope.

Terese/TCS will probably get a stern warning and half her seeds pulled.

The rules are in place so that each person has a chance to get some seeds they would like.

Shaking pom poms----o---i---n---k! Lol

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

I'm a little confused on which lists KD should be listing in her master list. I don't see my very generic one from the #4 thread. Should that one be added? What about
the one I sent to Suzy by dmail that includes stuff I don't want?

Also, I'm thinking that Suzy & dryad already worked through our first WZ list, so the WZ things are the second-round WZ list only?

Thanks,

Susy

South/Central, FL(Zone 9a)

I didn't have many seeds to trade either, but I bet knowing Suzy, I better add alot of cash for what she Is sneaking into my can.

I also wanted to say thank you to everyone for all your patience, friendship, and the many laughs I have had, just reading this. You are a great bunch of oinkers. I hope everyone's garden will be the best garden in their area, this year. : )

Love ya all. ~Lucy

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Susy, We are all a little confused on what the master list is, primarily because there are sooo many lists! Send KD a long list of all your wishlists if you want - I am going to print out the final product and have it upstairs when I pick again, then Dryad and I will use it to double check the final envelope contents before sending out. I don't care if it's 24 or 30 or 100 pages long.

I needed wishlists so I could clean and pack WZ seed that would fall into certain catagories (I dont have time to clean and pack all the seed she sent)

I needed wishlists so I could watch for your wishes when the postings were going fast and furious

I needed wishlists for when I went to clean out my own seedbox (a job now abandoned due to seed overload)

And I neded you to post wishlists so other people could see what you were looking for.

Then there was the first WZ wishlist, so I could pick things you actually wanted.

Thenthere were so many seeds left, I thought I would call for a second WZ wishlist. LOL!

So all those lists are on one document under your name, but if they came in dmail, I am only partially sure I got them to KD.

Scottsburg, IN(Zone 6a)

whew! you'se guys have been busy!!!! I think, at least I'm pretty sure, that I've got nothing to add or change!

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

Suzy,

Wow, no wonder I'm confused!

Can I have some of Wz"s saxifrage if there's any left?

toronto, Canada

Susybell & all - I posted the list with all the information I could find in the threads, you each sent me or I received from Suzy. Feel free to send me additional wishes / or themes/ or things you do not want etceteras if you don't think they have been covered or sent to Suzy already. I wont be updating the list for reposting as everyone is getting ready to send in their packages, but will include any additional information in the summary sent to Suzy. Hope that helps. KD

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

I'd like some calendula, too, if there is still more. I just got my latest issue of Herb Companion and there's a whole article on calendula. it's Herb of the Year for 2008. can be used to flavor and color broths, butter & cheese, and used in salads, veggie dishes, soups...almost anything. only the petals are edible and it says they are chewy, so they should be chopped or pureed. they can be dried for later use.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Here is the link for what I have that is on people's lists-PLMK if you do or do not want them...

Don't know if everyone knows this link so I'm sticking it in here. It gives all the vital info on starting seeds. Very helpful

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Fairy, You know I admire your lists, and listmaking abailites!) but I don't think you are going to hear back from many people -- I think most of us are at the "who cares?" point. Whatever you have tagged for people is fine, I'm sure.

I'd say let's wrap this up. I'll keep posting as I pack WZ seeds. Since they are "free" and not really part of the 1 for 1, it doesnt matter what you ask for as long as you can get it sown this year, this spring, no fail.

There are a couple of people who are sending a lot but are taking virtually nothing back -- actually 3 people, so I need to take care of them, put them in front of the line if they ask for something specific.

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=4416683

Is everybody happy? Anybody need more seeds? LOL!

I already have one player who cannot get her envie mailed out until Jan 29. I cannot even strat working onthese past what I am doing withWZ seeds until all the envies are here, so as far as I can see there is no rush. I'll let you know if that changes.

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

I'd like to find some Gaillardia Oranges & Lemons, if anyone still has some?

Vashon, WA(Zone 8a)

I've been away - cooking chicken korma, actually, and playing with a grandbaby (not mine). I don't know if it's too late, but I'd love the fruity calendulas, saxifrage, and siberian iris, if they're still available. Thanks.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Suzy, everything has been so crazy, did you catch my request for the calendulas earlier on? the fruity ones sounded good, but would take any.

colchie, what's chicken korma? sounds good

Vashon, WA(Zone 8a)

Chicken korma - Indian sort of mild curry with lots of ginger and garlic. yummmm

Nelson, NH(Zone 5a)

susybell,
I have you down for the 'oranges & lemons'. I just wintersowed them, so I have a few extras, not sure how many, but what's left will come your way. They were OP from a trade.

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

I just received an extra from a trade and it looks really nice but it's only hardy to Zone 8 so I can't use it anyone interested? http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2247/

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

I just checked the tradelists on it and I saw Colchie so I will tag it for her, unless you already found it colchie?

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

>>They were OP from a trade.

OK... i just have to ask... What is OP?

Mount Laurel, NJ(Zone 7a)

a few last things I have dmailed and tagged people for are:

Charlenesplants: feverfew
TCS: common chives
Robynznest: clemson spineless okra and burgundy okra
PamSue: pikes peak penstemon, salvia patens Cambridge Blue, chianti dianthus
LeBug: New England tall purple aster

offered but Clochie was ok for purple amaranth and yell.four o'clocks

I have a complete listing of who I'm sending what to but not sure how to copy and paste it in a post so I'll just mail it in with my box on Monday. How does that sound? ...would you believe I ran out of little plastic baggies and have to run to staples and buy more! :)

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

Flowerhead, Wonderful! Thank you so much!

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

>>would you believe I ran out of little plastic baggies and have to run to staples and buy more! :)

Wind -- i too ran out of baggies... the 2x3 craft type? and found them at wallyworld for just under $1

not sure which store is more dangerous to go to... Staples or WallyWorld though...

but i know at wallyworld they were cheaper than i got them for at Michaels.
