Suzy
It's on it's way!! Hope it is helpful-if not sorry I took up space in your inbox!!
I knew I overlooked peeps-I apparently forgot Wind's Rudbeckia 'Autumn Colors'
Hi all updated summary of everyone's wishes and requests from the WZ winebox, includes lists received from Suzy and a copy of Weezingreens "want list".
As Suzy noted above, if we could all scan this list before we send in our seeds and tag some of the untagged items we are sending in that would help Suzy in the sorting / matching process.
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=4397831
KD - this is a great list - thank you!!!
Isn't it?
Thank you!
Suzy
For general wish lists / requests from the WZ box, it would be great to hear from Cat641129, Plantnutz, Shirleymd, & Blueglancer, if any of you would like to send me a dmail with requests / themes / specific wishes that would be great. KD
TCS – might you have something on the 4 folks above in terms on wishes?
Hlp! Who wanted WZ's Fireweed? That's the one that's hard to germinate.
I have done searches and searches and can't find anybody except Meredith and PamSue, but I know there were one or two others. I'm thinking Rachierabbit or Wind, butI cannot find any dmails or postings
This is the one that is extremely difficult to germinate!!
Dryad, when the responses come back in, can you tag them, is that ok? (She took them home to pack up.)
'm afraid this won't be the last of the "who wanted?" posts ;((
Suzy
Fairy, I had no idea there are ALOT of blue eyed grass species!!! Which one were you looking for?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue-eyed_grass
mine is low, only around 6-8" and has narrow leaves with a blue 1/2" blossom and looks like sisyrinchium angustifolium
the sisyrinchium bermudianum looks like it has pretty lavender blooms and the western blue eyed grass, sisyrinchium bellum, sometimes has white flowers! There is even a golden yellow flowered species. The different species range in height from 4-20" too.
I'll dmail you the particulars if your still interested after seeing the bloom here is a photo of mine

I do believe there are some who did not post a wants list.
I have currently only found 13. and on bluespirals... she had 1 plant listed.
i'm sure many just browsed peeps lists and said, "Oh, i'll take that."
KD -- when i get a chance... i will compare you list and mine... but i think your's in more in depth, since you have the I want ..... from Weezingreens"
Suzy / Dryad - I would like the fire weed if there is enough, I think it was on my list. Thanks. KD
Lea, I just realized reading your postsaying I could have the primrose that someone was asking for the evening primrose. Are we talking about oenethera or primula? I don't need yellow oenethera(wouldn't mind pink though), but would like primula. Boy does this get confusing! Do you have purple majesty still or did you send out? LMK .Thanks!

Suzy

~Lucy
Flowerhead410, I don't have any primula I don't grow it yet lol I put the tall primrose in your bag didn't have any of the other yellow one left, you didn't want the tall primrose it gets like 5' tall. I do have the 'purple majesty' still I'll put it in your envelope :)
This is confusing lol
Hi all, receiving your additions and new wish lists to post, there are a limited number of edits you can make in a day, so all the edits will be batched late tonight. Thanks so much, . KD
Thanks Lea-I just saw Colchie has the evening primrose on her want list. Mystery solved!
I saw fireweed on Tuinkabouter's wishlist too. If there's not enough for everyone please don't worry about me getting any!
I finally finished looking over Weez's list. I am really amazed at all the plants she collects seeds from. I just sent in my last update to KD. I'm finito :) THANKS AGAIN for the best swap of my life! I'll be reading up on everyone's wishes to see if I have anything else tucked away here to fit the bill.
Take care all and thank you!
sincerely,
~Diana
tomorrow's the day we mail everything in, correct?
Hi guys, all the wish lists (those I have in) will be updated tomorrow first thing. It would be great if people could have a scan of it then (gives everyone a chance to get their lists in). There have been quite a few additions and they are still coming in.
Seandor - Suzy's message a few posts above was that we had until about the 23rd-26th to mail our seeds in for the Feb 1 deadline. KD
Thanks KD! Well, then I will spend to more organzing my seeds and getting them ready to ship :-)
Suzy someone tagged a Lavatera for me so that can come off my list.
The wishlist of mine was also going by WZ's list.
Looking at the other wislists - I could tag some joe pye weed for colchie if she didn't find any yet. Also she has zinnia listed - I don't have the ones she listed but I could package up some I saved from my garden - I put a pic of them.
I also have rudbeckia but not the ones she listed so I'm not sure if she'd want them.
On Frausnow list I see phlox - I have a pack of phlox (that's supposed to be the straight species) I could tag. I see she has weeping pussywillow - I don't have seeds from this but I am wondering how to collect some - I have a plant but I never thought to collect seeds from it!?
Margaran -Echinacea
Lenka wants butterfly plants she doesn't have, but I don't know what she has so I can't say if anything from me would be good - I have stuff she might like though! TCS wants butterfly and hummer plants too. Maybe she'd like something from me? If she didn't find any Maltese Cross I have some left over from last year - (I was going to keep it in case my plants don't make it through winter, but I've read they are extremely hardy so It's probably not going to be an issue.)
I also wanted to throw out there that I have 5 packages of Oriental Lily Seeds - mixed (I had them growing in pots and mixed them all up when I planted them, so I couldn't remember which was which!) they are from parents of Algarve; Bernini; Expression; Stargazer; Tom Pouce - Something in my yard must of loved the lilies because I got lots of good seeds out of all of them. I also have 1 package of Lilium speciosum var. rubrum. I know lilies are tough to germinate (stored seed need warm/cold/warm stratification) and slow to get going but if your interested let me know and I'll send em!
I'm sorry is this too much information at once?
Meredith,
do you have a HAVES list anywhere? i'm honestly too tired to sift thru all the posts... and I am getting Maltese Cross from someone.
I'm thinking with all these seeds i'm getting, i will not have enough room to WS all of them and may do a lot of direct sowing in the spring.
Terese
I went through the wishlists and am adding these to peoples envies:
Frausnow- Chaste Tree
Seandor- Digitalis
KD2000-Jacob's Ladder
Colchie- Purple Amaranth and Rudbeckia Goldstrum
Rachel
There ya go -- I can see I'm not needed any more LOL!
Seandor, and all, I thought the time from the 18th to your mailing out could be spent fine tuning, looking through wishlists, looking through your seeds, re reading the mailing requirements (post #1 of htis thread), making sure everything is in top notch order, and then mailing.
Ok to all. Meredith :)) The butterfly plants are also for Margaran,. Blueglancer, TCS , PamSue,and Lenko if she is still participating.
The Oriental lily seed just needs to be tossed in a sandwich ziploc (meaning the thinnest mil plastic sandwich bags you can find) and tossed with some barely damp potting soil. Stick them on a shelf somewhere in the house for 12 weeks, then pull them off the shelf and into some place cool for 12 weeks, either the refrigerator or the cool shade outside. After 12 weeks, pot them up or plant them in a nursey bed. They blooom in 3 years from seed.
TCS, You and me, too. (tired, I mean)
I have some packs of of WZ's Calendula, 'Citrus Cocktails' if anybody wants one. Calendula is an edible, herbal, cool season annual and really makes a lovely statement very early in spring. Looks great with blue Bachelor's Buttons, but I suppose it would be smashing with maroon bachelor's buttons, too.
Suzy
OK... i do recall your list.... i had asked for this at one point
Salvia coccinea - Hummingbird Sage (1)
honestly can't recall if you tagged it for me or not.... if not, I'll take it.
everything else on your list I have already.
Terese
I just tagged for from their wishlists.
Dryad;
Cardinal Climber
Gaillardia Fanfare
Pink Peony Poppy
LeBug:
Dusty miller
oh, man, I haven't been posting much, but I've been watching close in case I can 'make a wish' come true LOL I'm exhausted just trying to keep up and not miss anything. Trying to get stuff packed up and double-check my lists. I thought Suzy's last swap was the swap of the century, but this one's got it beat.
granpapa,... I got lost eons ago. lol This was way over my head.
~Lucy
I have a packet from trade labeled white salvia, I'd like to keep some, but there's enough to share. Takers?
Also, blue or white stokesia-from my garden, but forgot to label-likely some of both. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/15/
And pennisetum 'piglet' a short little grass http://waltersgardens.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=plants.plantDetail&plant_id=1598
And I did save some razzmatazz from my garden for myself to try and see what they do, but...I could spare 12 seeds.
Suzy-rmember the ligularia desdemonda? well, I was wrong there are fat seeds! I also have the green. Anyone?
I have a snapdragon mix, I know it's on someone's list, but if anyone wants to tell me I'm tired. I'll recheck in am, too-don't worry
Also a mystery hosta from 2006-likely a good one, because I did not collect seeds last year-so I must have really liked it. lol!
Another last year pack just labeled "pink salvia", not much but still...
I was seperating these out looking at lists, but I'm done looking, so I really will check back if there's no one jumping forward
bright pink phlox-not sure if they come true and OP-small amount
And I have variegated kiss me over the garden gate. 12 seeds
and lastly-penstemon smalii, 20ish seeds
Night all...I'll be back
The white Salvia needs to go to Bluespiral as it is on her wishlist, could you tag it for her, please?
I wan't say a word about where the Pennisetum 'Piglet" needs to go, LOL!
Great news on the Desdemona -- if anybody loves those big leaves, it's a winner!
