We were in a paddle boat at Yorks Wild Animal Kingdom and they started chasing the boat. Josh was on the backside and sure enough they went to the back specifically for him!!
What do you miss most in the winter?
Sounds like a scary experience.
He was 6 at the time, we have been back several times since and they pick him every time!
Morning all! When do we collect the prize money?
I'll hold your share until you get out of the slammer.
Those swans are in an old quarry - hard to get real close to them. I've had run ins with geese before.
yes pirl, the summer dreams grew from seed bought at WalMart... i think it was one of the expensive packets - maybe $2.19? they were my favourite thing i grew last year, and i have posted way too many pics!
Never too many photos. That's just not possible. I'm going to look for them right now.
Thanks, Al, but I have checked three catalogs (Park's, T & M, Burpee) and no sign of Amy's Summer Dreams and that's a good excuse for me to go shopping for them.
I think I've seen it in one, looks like Happy ring too. I have so many variations that I had some that looked like those.
I miss ...
* the kiss of the sun
* the sweet smell of the breeze
* the smell of the garden soil
* watching my granddaughter dig for worms
* rocking in my chair on the back patio after a long day of weeding
I like the Cosmos too Al. If you have enough, I'll take some, gratefully.
Yes, but my wife won't let me have her. Hee hee. I guess any nice annuals that you had success with.
Oh, I just remembered:
*swinging on my swing
*sipping coffee and taking in the morning scene from my hammock
I like Candyce and Sophonisba's "I miss. . ." comments. Very poetic. I love everything you said!
I miss:
* the morning light streaming into my room at just after 5 am. . .
* walking outside in the early morning dew of a warm summer morning (in my nightgown and robe, natch) just to check a few things.
* picking a handful of sweet Sungold cherry tomatoes and having them for breakfast.
* running my hands lightly over the blossoms in the flower boxes on my deck, to feel their velvety petals and leaves.
. . . and that's just getting me up to 7 am. . .
I want a hammock!
I agree with all the above things and a few more.
*I miss going out early and seeing the daylily bud opening. I know that when I come back in a few hours it will dazzle me again with it's full bloom.
* I miss the birds chatter telling me to refill the feeder, lazy lady!
* On a hot summer night the crickets and loons serenading me under the moonlight.
*Campfires and smores!
*Lightening Bugs!
Scantily clad...uh, never mind!
I love this thread!
Candyce - the English major in you provided us with a very pleasant, poetic list of "missings".....
Sure have enjoyed all of these reminders of why I always miss New England gardens!
And the photos are gorgeous!!!
Nice to hear from you Emily!! I'd miss your deck too!
Nice pics Dawn, so glad you shared with the eye candy. We all need some color and hope at this time of the year. Your petunias are lovely!!
Thank you pixie :)
Nice pics Dawn.
This thread title does remind me of this saying - Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most
Sheets dried outdoors, as I am laundering bed linens tonight...
I agree, Al.
Victor are saying my clematis is scantily clad or me?? LOL
Hee hee - just what I miss!
Doh!!! I get it now!!! Sheesh silly me!!!
