Yes, Deb, there are small one available. I assume your soil is acidic.
Thank you for your compliments on the article, Celeste. Yes, I was a Jordan fan, even though he always killed my beloved NY Knicks!
What do you miss most in the winter?
Sounds like a DL showdown!
Pirl your right! It would match perfectly!!
It's the combo of both!
I really like the white edge on that Pirl, is it a good bloomer? Early, Mid or Late?
Wow - I hadn't noticed the edge. Very nice! Named after the horse??
Nice deck. That recycled material?
Great contrast Cape and no words needed....the pictures say it all!
Victor, I WISH our deck was made out of recycled material--I'm thinking you mean something made out of plastic or rubber or some other composite material, but no. We just give the wood a good couple of layers of paint every two to three years. . . someday the wood of the deck will all fall inward, and only the paint will remain to hold everything up!
Aw, man! You guys have entertained me, made me revel in awe over the wonderful photos and made me laugh with the funny jokes. Thanks!!!!
Harper
Frpm my pictures waaaaay up, yes, the hydrangea is Limelight. Did it look yellow to you Pixie? It really is lime green.
Thanks Donniebrook on the foxgloves. They are biennial. I always have plenty of seeds if anyone ever wants some.
Funny! Looks nice though. Much nicer in September!
looking at the RU picture, i'll say:
wearing shorts and sandals!
wonderful photos everyone.... thanks for the warmer wishes... as it just started snowing here
Beautiful pics everyone. A picture is worth a thousand words and those pics are making me dream of the summertime and gardening!! Eleanor
.
Amy - love your Summer Dreams. Did you grow them from seed? I'll go check my catalogs.
Polly - I thought it was a yellow hydrangea, too!
Pixie - Midseason. I have extra if you want some.
Victor - yes, named for the horse, of course!
Emily - your deck, gardens and view are all so gorgeous in person that no photos could do it all justice.
Amy - I didn't put away one pair of shorts, on purpose, when I changed from fall to winter clothes in my closet. I need the reminder that summer really will arrive.
The "Pesky" N.E. forum took #1 again. Texas was actually crowing yesterday that they were in first place, I bet the crows are silent today. LOL It normally would not have bothered me, I would of been flattered but a few things didn't set right with me.
My pet peeve's are :
A. Being called "Pesky" why not "creative", or the "cabin fever nuts"
B. Copying our threads....no creative minds?
C. Crowing before talling up the totals.
D. Actually thinking we love being inside for 16 weeks at a time....which is where I wouldn't of minded being called a cabin fever nut.....cause I am!!
Pixie - who referred to the NE as "Pesky"?
Of course we have cabin fever but it's not as though we live on the frozen tundra and even that must be enjoyable to those who live there.
Copying threads and playing word games? No. Tell me you're teasing. Certainly they could think of other things!!!
LOL, No Pirl not teasing!
Pesky is here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/802648/
Very first paragraph we are mentioned!

Mitch is just teasing, I'm sure. So they're the Avis of this site and they'll just have to try harder.
Maybe it's the snow, cabin fever, but most of all the friends and support we find here that allow us to enjoy the NE forum so much.
I wonder what they would be like if they were cooped up inside for months like we are? Cabin fever is not for the faint of heart!! LOL
The dynamic duo of Texas: Mitch and Tir. Maybe we could shorten it to MiTir or Titch. Lord knows I've been called "pril" enough times!
It really isn't, Pixie. The first time I ever heard the phrase it was used by my dear departed former neighbor, the real PIRL, and I had no idea what it meant. The howling winds get me nuttier than the rain and snow. I think of those brave prairie people and how they survived the endless winds...or not.
Sort of funny because Dave created the games forum to get all the games in one place and out of other forums so if you wanted to get pesky....and of course there is a Roundup forum where all that is supposed to be placed.....
but anyway, what do I miss
* being able to just run outside without checking
*longer daylight
*sitting around outside instead of in
seeing what the bugs are up to
Great shots, Al. That bark is stunning.
Oh the swans are beautiful! My DS would not agree.....those darn things chase him no matter where we are. If there is a swan in the vacinity they seek out Joshua everytime!!
They can be fierce if anyone or anything interferes with their nest. Jack saw one attack a large dog that got too close for comfort and the dog, being smart, ran away.
