CLOSED: Second Chance Wishlist #4
Wind-thanks for putting up that pic-I truly would appreciate it if anyone had anything low growing they thought might go woth it that would be an annual...
Fairy, I'm thinking hard but all I can think of is that peachy Alyssum that was all over everywhere a few years ago, but I don't have any. :(
>>would anybody like some creeping thyme (Thymus serpyllum)? I
Gram put some aside for me. I actually just purchased some "clumps" last fall.... but i'd LOVE more.
Tiger, I was kidding! (well, mostly) LOL
I hope you'll be able to come to our local seed swap next month!
And if any of you seed-silly people are going to be in the area (Frederick is about an hour north of DC, nearly as far west of Baltimore) on Feb 23, I'm hosting a DG tea party and seed swap, and of course you're all invited! (Details on the MidAtlantic Forum)
Fairy how about this statice

Gram I would love some creeping thyme.
Before I go out and pull it off, does anyone want Crepe myrtle Dbl flower Rosa China?
Hi kids -- look at the clock!!!! Dryad JUST LEFT my house and we were able to fulfill practically everybody's WZ wishlists. The reason I say "practically" is because not every thing came in, but oddly, there wasn't one or two things that everybody wanted, so it worked out just great!
She showed up at 11:00 with lists and graphs, and a laptop plus......
I'm sort of embarrassed, but she also brought a really nice present from one of the local premier stores -- WINE and something funny for Mr. Clean (naturally he didn't see the joke, just the end result:a kind of beer he had never tasted before. The brand or kind was "Alpha Dog" -- he still didn't get the joke, but he put it in the refrigerator right away!)
A I said I am kind of embarrassed; I have beenin a lot of swaps before and never had this happen before, but I wanted to thank you all because it was really, really thoughtful of you! Thank you!
On to prosaic matters, there is some nice stuff left that we have to bag up into smaler bags, then some nice stuff that is just leftover, and I think there is some stuff here that was never on her list at all...so look for these in installments in the next 2 weeks... yikes!
Thanks again, Gonna go pop the cork!
Suzy
Robyn, even if nobody speaks up for it, don't just pull off those crepe myrtle seeds... the gold finches and house finches around here love eating them off the tree by our deck!
Okee Dokee Everyone-I just pimped my list "Ansofan" Style!! Check out the post in this link!! It took 4EVER-so humor me & take a glance!!

Thanks critter, That's why I asked first, actually I didn't want to go out in the cold if I could help it.
I was afraid you were planning to strip the seed pods off regardless, not realizing your feathered friends had been eyeing them! :-)
LOL @ 3# "piggy cans"
Robynznest- I would love to try your Crepe myrtle Dbl flower Rosa China. Thanks, Rachel
Suzy and Dryad looks like you had a very productive day!
If it's to cold don't worry about it and please don't starve the birdies!

I don't pull anything off unless someone wants them or I need them for next year. Gotta feed all my babies out there.
This was my only Crepe that bloomed last year. So I guess it will be as true as it can be (do they come true). The ice storm damage the others, hopefully next year they will bloom.
Sure thing Rachael, I will go pick some tomorrow just for you.
Seandor - the lady baltimore hibiscus is on Ana3's (Netherlands) list if you could tag it for her, and I am up for trying the mystery Japanese berry bush if no one else would like it.
Robyn - I would love to try the crepe myrtle if I did not already ask you for it.
Will dmail some follow-ups. Thanks all.
Gotcha - I have put the hibisucs in Ana3's bag, and the mystery bush goes to you :-)
Got some more stuff :
Catanache Caerulea (Cupid's Dart) hardy perennial T&M Seeds - 20 seeds
Lavender x angustifolia Hidocte. dark blue. 20 seeds.
ocimum thyrsiflora Licorice Basil (trade)
Miscanthus Sinensis - Zebra grass
Woodland tobacco plant (white) - 5 ft. (trade)
salvia scarlea (trade)
This message was edited Jan 14, 2008 8:10 PM
If you still have them, I would love the Lavender Basil and the Salvia scarlea!
Robin
Wow, what an amazing undertaking-look at all those cans and baggies!
You got em, dryad 57 :-)
Like Pooh Bear says, "it's much more fun with two"! I honestly don't think I could do what Suzy is doing and still keep my wits about me. We had a spreadsheet and separate emails to check against - and when we got done we took a hard second look at all the lists and emails to make sure we hadn't missed anything. Now Suzy gets to work her magic with knowing what would work in everyone's gardens, and what they would like. I think you'll all be tickled with what you find in your Seed Treasure Packets :)
(Thanks Seandor - you rock!!)
Yes, you do Rock and Thanks to all of you, this has been a great swap. Even though I couldn't keep up, I have had a blast. It's ok though cause DH says I'm nuts to sit here and try to keep anything straight.
Hey, Seandor,
If they're up for grabs - I'd love the cupid's dart, the blackcurrant swirl datura and lauren's grape poppy. I am a pig, it's true, and it's fine if they're already promised - I'll just mope.
Seandor, Can I have the Anemone cilindrica , please?
Seandor may I try the "yavol commandant" sedum
I think I am almost alive. You would definitely be seeing my obituary if Dryad hadn't come over today! You cannot believe how well it went with 2 people (one reading and one picking) but truly all I could think of was, What if she hadn't been there ? Hadn't lived so close?
Meanwhile, I forget what all I was going to comment on, except Starlight, If you get extras of those men, can I have some?
Susy, I don't need doubles of anything you listed, tentatively, for me above.
Blue, all she said was "hardy geraniums", here exact words are "I'm always in the market for new hardy geranium, and I'm low on G. sanguineum seeds of late." She is in Zone 3. I once took every single perennial seed I had and wrote down the zones for them and dmailed her the list of everything I had that was hardy to Zone 3. She turned them all down. :)
Fairy, That picture is so pretty of the Aster and petunias, above! (Post #4402278)
Don't forget Margaran's list; there are a lot of shrubs on it that she isn't going to send unless somebody pipes up, plus there is a lot of Tithonia for those of you who need to fill in a lot of space. It's an amazing plant. I'm sure she would love for you to take as much as possible so she can get more stuff for the butterflies!

Didn't somebody want a different kind of buttefly bush?
Guess that's all, well, all I can remember!
Suzy

Hi Susy, OK, I'll take those off and do another update. Do you want it on the new thread? Nice picture over there, by the way. :)
Sure, the new thread is good. The picture is to remind us that we only have some much room (or that the grass strip *could* go a bit narrower, whatever the case may be.) LOL!
