Been gone a few days, and missed a lot. Such a good variety of birds and very nice pictures.

Burn,

Thanks for always posting the sweet and beautiful Pine Grosbeaks and Redpolls! I love seeing them! We don't get either one here during the year, but would love it if we did. Nice pics!

Pelletory -- I love that line, " I used to use hot pepper in liquid form for deterring squirrels; the birds didn't care and after a while neither did the squirrels." Made me laugh and smile.

We're having VERY heavy downpour of rain right now; the backyard is flooded.

Glad I went to the Bird Shop a little earlier,I had a some trouble driving home when it started; roads were already beginning to flood.

Nice closeup trois! Glad you've brought more attention to the female Red-winged Blackbird for us;she definitely is a handsome bird!

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

Keep dry! Flooded is our natural state.
I agree they are a great looking bird. I have wondered why they are so neglected.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Is this some sort of hybrid Mallard? I couldn't find exact match in any of my books. The breast and bill are the same...
