Great shot, nanny_56. We have a lot of Downeys, but they have eluded me so far. I have never seen a White Breasted Nuthatch.
Daily Pics. Vol 50
Wonderful pics nanny!
Marilyn: That's definitely a male painted bunting! I have a book of Florida Birds and it's in there. Aren't they beautiful with those colors? I've only seen one or two at our feeders in the 32 years we've been in our house. I guess they were passing through during migration.
Yep, male Painted Bunting. If he's larger than the others, it means he's probably a professional player in the Painted Bunting Basketball League (yep, birds vary in size individually, just like people do ;-).

heehee
very pretty bird
Oh, what a cute little guy! The name "Peanut" would fit him wouldn't it? The Tufted Titmouse is one of my favorites too. We get them occasionally at our feeders, which I am off to fill right now! Should have done it early this morning and got busy and forgot! Your pic reminds me that I need to buy more peanuts too!
Great photo's!
I have finally bought me a book of Indiana Birds and I am hoping to maybe get a job at WBU soon! I need to support my bird and flower habit! LOL

Beautiful pics trois!
Is that hot pepper powder in w/ the seed mix? LOL,Trying to stop squirrels?
Thanks, pelle, and the hot prpper works, sometimes.
nanny, yep, I spend a lot of time uder that bush, lol, not many others though. It's a good hideout near the oak trees. You're on a roll, great pics!
Amazing colours on the Painted Bunting, Marilyn. It looks a lot like a parrot.
Great pics Linthicum, it must be unusual to get Eagles in the act.
Trois, your second shot is great, such an expression! Does the pepper powder bother the birds? It looks like it's had a hot shock, lol. Legs and feet on it! They look like metal.
You seem to have a lot of Hawks Deb. I see you have answered the hot question too, nice pics!
It's been wet and windy today, I only have a pic of a crow from yesterday. I could have cropped it closer before I transferred it, but I liked the effect from farther away. A large crow of sorts, I could see an orange beak though, it was 'braking' to land on the oak.
I went searching, found this article on crows that make tools,

Five years later, more tricks, and man doesn't know why they do this. I would say it's down to where the insects are placed and the nature of the wood, maybe narrow cracks in hard woods.

Maybe my Jackdaw was making a tool?
Nice pics debnes; I like those Inca Doves.
Beautiful catch wallaby! I love that tree too!
I used to use hot pepper in liquid form for deterring squirrels; the birds didn't care and after a while neither did the squirrels.
Best part was in the beginning when you would see the squirrels freak out when they had eaten the seed treated with it. Priceless! :-)
Marilyn that second pic is really cute.
I can almost hear the chickadee in the air saying "GERONIMOOOOOOOOO."
