CLOSED: Second Chance Wishlist Swap #3

(Zone 7a)

Maozamom,

I don't know if you saw my dmail sent at 6:38 am yesterday morning, but might you have enuf seeds to share of:

Red Asian Spinach
Maltese Cross?

I have some things on your wants list but not in great enough quantity to go around, so will add to the dmail I sent you earlier.

Is anyone getting any sleep around here?

Olympia, WA(Zone 7b)

Starlight,
It's been so crazy I don't remember requesting any Italian White previously but I looked it up and it's beautiful. I would love to have some if you have any to spare. Thanks, Rachel

TCS- Thank you for being so generous. Let me know how yours do this summer!

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Rachel..... Sure thing. Will ad d them to your envie.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Seandor-if you want it I have some artemesia (think I spelled it right??) "Silver Mound' seeds I collected-it is soft a fluffy and moves in the wind-great texture and sometimes when I play in the dirt in that bed I like to play with it since it feel sooooo good....

(Zone 7a)

I bet those Italian White sunflowers would be pretty with Ansonfan's orange Hearts & Honey morning glory vine - and maybe some blue Salvia farinacea?

There are some strange flowers coming out of the Morning Glory forum - what do y'all think about this gray MG? It came to me as Gray Morning Mist, but it's not true to its namesake and no one seems to know what it is. Not that I would go looking for gray flowers, but wouldn't this be fun among Gothic blacks? There's a dianthus called Chianti that has that same color in the throat of this MG, only it's a black-toned fuchsia and has a white picotee edging like this MG. I think to have a long drift of Chianti and that tall, silvery, felted wormwood, Artemisia 'Silver Queen' at the base of this MG might be fun.

And then, next cross bar up the arbor, how about the moonflower (Ipomoea alba) with the white-flowered, silver-woolly-leaved Lychnis coronaria at is feet? Something with sword-like blades - maybe the repeat-blooming iris 'Immortality' in between would give more color/texture echoes...and a silvery woolly mat of thyme swirling over the path's edge under the iris up to the lychnis & wormwood?

Who wants to help me figure out what to do with the rest of the arbor? It follows a 17' long path up a transverse slope with a garden to the right facing the back and a yew hedge to the left with a narrow bed in front.

In reality, this MG was part of an arbor over a path last summer - in the background, y'all ignore that weed to the right - just wanted to point out a color echo between the gray of GMM and the gray of the leaves of a Dianthus plumarius that cascaded down its part of the hill behind.

Suzy, I need a few more hours before I can update my lists above. I haven't had to say no to anyone yet who has dmailed me for seeds since I last updated it - so far I've been able to come up with something for everyone. I have a large variety of small amounts of seed that are too few to list on this thread - but I never could have located it until this swap forced me to organize things into a findable state. The Mighty Caped Illoquin could make a fortune whipping disorganized gardeners like me into shape - lol!

Well, the NARGS (http://www.nargs.org/) seed exchange list finally came yesterday - LeBug & I kept missing each other's shadows in PlantFiles last night, which is where I'll be if anyone wants to get hold of me for a while longer. I'll be checking in here & my dmail for the next few hours.

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

Suzy

Hollyhock Country Romance mmix BLOOMS FIRST YEAR from seed pink, rose wine TT TCS
very cool. Thanks.

Ugg, and i thought i was done.

Terese

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

LOL! TCS, Those 2 I have, I'm pulling, but when I ask for things that I'll probably forget, they are on there. I willbe back inthe afternoon...I have a poile of dmail so if you really, really need me, change the subject line to READ THIS NOW or somehting :))

TCS, The Gaillardia Burgundy is one of the few Gaillardias I've found that have viable seed inthe trade packs. Most of them are husks.

Blue, I need to look up Heart & Honey -- PamSue got it and she has good taste (read: my taste LOL!) and now you're talking about it. hmmm. Thank for looking for grays. I have one thing here, maybe. That big white furry thing you were talking about -- a Salvia was it? Salvia argenta? That was cool looking, too!

ALL, Listen to Blue about the color echos she knows what she's talking about and can turn your flower bed into a garden with some better placements of flowers.!

I'll be back this afternoon...

Suzy

,

(Zone 7a)

me too, tcs

Maozamom & I are winning over our computer gremlins - we are discovering how many are the ways a dmail can get lost - thank you Maozamom for bearing with me

karen

(Zone 7a)

But, no scheme - be it color or organizing things so you can fine them - is ever so satisfying as when serendipity bumps into it - so I really would love to hear musings from everyone here, too.

Ditto about PamSue's taste - I never would have known to pick out the MGs she did last year. Why bother surfing eBay when you've got PamSue to trade with? lol

Scottsburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Blue, I was really intrigued by the possibility of any kind of gray colored flower, but that picture seems to be a bit shaded - I wonder if that makes it appear more gray than it is? And now I'm gonna havta go do some doodling and see what your arbor would look like with those plants you suggested!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Oh, yes, I forgot to tell you all -- Dryad is a landscaper designer. Seriously. With paying clients!

And yes, Serendipity can be outstandingly awesome..

Suzy

Scottsburg, IN(Zone 6a)

just don't go lookin' at my website expecting it to be beautifully designed - LOL!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

dyrad57 - you've been holding out on us! Someday I hope to be affluent enough to hire you :-)

Orrville, OH(Zone 5b)

I couldn't agree more Karen. I had never perceived that purple smoke oranges in it until a Siberian wallflower came up beside it. Intense. I guarantee now that this is a permanent partnership in my garden.

mao

Scottsburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Not really holding out - this is the one place I've run into where the population knows not just more than I do, but much more :) You'se guys are not the "general public" when it comes to landscaping and gardening - LOL! That being said, I'm always happy to offer a free opinion to my buds here on DG - you just have to take it for what it's worth! (And I specialize in designs, and trying to get people to want to be in their yard. I'm not sure you'd fit the second half of that!)

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

Suzy I would like some please and thank you!

Suzy, I have some 'red carnation' poppies if you want some, if not I’ll put them on my list, what color poppies are you looking for in annuals?

George, I would like some candy tuft please.
I’ll take those summer berries yarrow? Too and if you can split that pack if you have enough with Maragaran they are good for butterflies if there isn’t enough to split just put maragaran’s name on them she’ll like them :)

maozamom, I would like some blue flax please.

Fairy, Could I have some and please,

Lea

Orrville, OH(Zone 5b)

LeBug, flax is tagged for you

Polkton, NC(Zone 7b)

tcs1366 I have put you down for the Beebalm.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

gee, I thought this would die down and it just keeps rolling. I can barely keep up, but I'm so afraid I'll miss something LOL I DO NOT need one more seed (but, help me, help me, I still want 'em)

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

great.... i checked and replied to Dmail before i came in here... Thanks.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

LeBeg, I have these:

»Poppy - Annual single purple
»Porcupine Grass Miscanthus sinensis 'Little Nicky'
»Coleus 'Kong' 100 seeds
»Marigold, French 'Tiger Eyes'
»Mina lobata - Vine, Hummers
Scabiosa 'Butterfly Blue' Z3-9 perennial
»Snapdragons Crowne Royale, mini rich red

Gram, I had offered you the Scabiosa 'Butterfly Blue' in dmail, did you want it? The pack is not big enough to split. (LeBug,Gram is kinda picky (that might not have come out right, but you get the drift ROTF!) and if she doesn't want it, it will automatically roll over to you.)

Forgot to say, I will throw and sow the doubles red, but go ahead and list them and if somebody is dying for them let them have 'em. What am I looking for? LOL! I no sooner think I am looking for it, as I seem to get it. Yesterday I told Wind I think I'd put white Morning glories on a trellis on the patio, and within 2 hours there was a pack in the mail somebody had sent me as extra in a little trade!

Sea, Nice of you to list here so we know, but she'll need confirmation in Dmail.

Hey Shirley!!! Nice to see you! Are you cleaning out your seedbox or joining the fray? You might want to take a peek above, my list is somewhat out of date, but maybe there is somehting on there (frankly I doubt it, but you never know!). There are a lot of lists above, tho.

If you don't get any hits on the things like Gaillardia, Marigold, Dahlia, Penstemon, Coreopsis, well, everything there, actually, LOL! I have 3 people who are in just not monitoring who say they can take anything, anything, for butterflies -- 2 in Florida and 1 in Texas. I bet they would take that Protea, too. Man! I wish I could take it...wouldn't that be cool?

I also have a gal that runs a community garden who wants any and all tomatoes, cukes, squash, and eggplant, of all things. Starlight. She has some commercial pansies up there (Do a search on "Fama" if you're interested.) and some other stuff. She logs on in the morning, and has been know to take Collards, too, I can't figure out what makes the grade and what she passes on.

PLEASE let me know anthing you might be interested in -- some cool stuff comes through, and WZ will be sending us a bag or a box, so we have those yet to list..

Thanks for posting!

Suzy, I found a pack of Scabiosa 'Butterfly Blue' from the last swap, so those can roll right on to LeBug. and I prefer to think of myself as minimally piggy, rather than picky LOL
