I just love them, They made a great back drop to the beebalm and a companion to the zinnias that I accidently planted next to them. It could be the reason I didn't have any beetles. Who knows, I never checked.

ANNOUNCEMENT

You know I love you all, but it's time to do a little housekeeping ladies and gent. Please clean up your "seeds availabe lists" above, a little, and make them look nicer. :)) Get rid of hyperlinks that don't work and extraneous stuff.

The lists of seeds you post on this thread should only be

1. SEEDS AVAILABLE. If they are listed, then somebody should be able to get them. If they are gone, then delete them.

2. WISHLISTS:
SEEDS YOU'd LIKE TO HAVE

You can list seed requests for the seeds listed on available lists, you can say, "Sure I got your seeds tagged for ya." You can chat and be merry, you can be piggy. No problem. If you have items listed on your available list with an x and they are gone, delete them.

Nobody wants to wade through your tagged items, and nobody wants to see all the cool stuff they did NOT get. LOL! So put a LINK to your tags under the last category like this:

Tagged items ____ Hyperlink

If you are embarrassed by the junk you have left on your list, add a line that says, "I *did" have a lot of cool stuff, but the piggies got a lot of it and this is all that's left." Or "I am new, and this is pretty much it, but they are all gorgeous, and are all easy to grow from seed."

The object of the game is to make it look like there is a lot of stuff left so when people drop in to take a peek they can say, hey! I'd like some of that, join us, and then we get to look at their seeds, too :))))

There will be plenty of Four OClocks - Everybody is getting at least one pack of Yellow ones, courtesy of seed maven Frau Snow. Plus there are others floating around -- TCS has the Fuschia, for example, but I think pretty much all colors are floating around. If you want a certain color, put it on your wishlist!

THis is my 1st swap, so Iam not trying to sound like a moron, but I don't get how to add a hyperlink and where we are to list the tagged items....

Fairy, LOL! You are not a moron, those are good questions, and this is my first swap like this, too, and I am making up the rules as I go. It's no wonder no one knows what's going on!!! :))

Put up your list of stuff you have available right now. Without stuff you've already gotten rid of.

As it goes from now on, go ahead and use the X system (I like that, wish I had thought of it !!) If you want, you can put the person's name who gets it in parenthesis after the item. But you don't have to.

Hyperlinks might be tricky for me to explain because I am computer challenged. Can somebody explain adding hyperlinks to a post to Fairy 1004 for me? I am pretty sure you all would howl with laughter if you saw how I do it.

Cat LOL! Tomorrow is fine, thanks for letting me know, though, i hadn't considered that.

dryad told me about the whole hyperlink thing, but I guess my question is that if we are not supposed to keep track of the "tagged items" on the thread, where do we keep it to be able to put a hyperlink in fo ti to be viewed??

ya got me on the "tagged item"

is that "what is available" ?

if so.... for adding the hyper link to an image or to the Daves details... [plant files]

you would go to what ever page you want it linked to.... say Cosmos, for instance...

copy what is in the address bar [click highlight, right click - copy]
then come back to the window with your message/post and hit PASTE and the address to said 'other window' will be there, http and all.

if you are ever curious to those hyperlink things.... just put your cursor over it and the address will show down in your progress bar [down, just above the START button]

as for cleaning up my "lists" post.... I'll edit out all the seeds that are promised and leave just what is available.... I've been verifying all my swaps in DMail.

I am not picking on my pal, it's just one of many I saw this morning. When you cut and paste in DG forums, hyperlinks do not transfer as live links, they are just text.

TCS - Tagged means "earmarked for" So I would tag a cool red thing for you.

How do we add a list elsewhere so we can hyerlink to it for the tagged items.

I'm sorry I guess I'm not asking this correctly. From the way I understood the announcement was that we were to delete everything that was spoken for and add in a hyperlink for people to be able to click on to make sure that what they asked for I had marked for them. SO let's say I wanted to make sure that you Suzy had below marked for me:

The way I do a link is to cheat - I open a second window or tab, go to DG and the spot I want to link from - copy that address and click back to the other window. I lose track of where I was otherwise!

anyhoooo, what i did ... to my post up top, is edit out all the "earmarked" stuff [thanks for that Suzy]
and then put in links to my posts back on the first page... one link for "earmarks" and one for my "wants".

I even forgot what i was writing in that window i closed... but i know it had to do with hyyerlinks and editing ... which we all will be champs at by the time this is over.

I'm sending 50 packs of Coreopsis seeds. They were given to me by a friend who said he thought they were "Moonbeam", but since he didn't know for sure I have marked all the seed packs as UNK.

I have no idea -- how about dmail for those? Once they are in your baggie, I feel certain you will get them and you don't really have to keep a post up to remind the sender. What does everybody else think?

Fairy, and KD and anybody else who might be newer at this: From my perspective, the seeds are just packs of clutter. Things I want, but don't need at all. If somebody forgets half my packs, I wont even remember I asked for them (well, a couple I will definitely remember, but +/- it's all extra.) Once having said that, I think all of use remember when we were new and each pack was VERY important. We want to make you especially happy. we don't mind reminder emails, even one now, and one when it's closer to the time to send them, because we know you value what we think is extra and leftover. Truly, we want you to be happy.

As the envies arrive here, I usually open them and I throw each baggy
in a can I have set up for them. I don't open them, or look through them or otherwise care what's in there. I don't care if you get 6 packs of Balloon flower from 6 different people, if you asked for it, it's yours.

When all the player's envies have arrived, there will be a pile of seed packs leftover...that is always my worry. That I get the rights seeds to the right person -- that I am able to guess best as to who would like what. That I count the packs and give each person what they deserve AND what they want. That I have enough postage to send them all back out and that they send an envie big enough that I can pack in all the seeds without going the 3/4" USPS limit and the 13oz limit for envelopes. That the people who bought and paid for confirmation, and Starlight brought this up, but it's a good idea to ask me to send del confirmation (and include an extra 75c for me to do it)

So my worries are way different than yoursn and some of your quesitons I am just not sure how to answer because they ddin't even occur to me :))

I *will* say I have all your seeds in a baggie for you. They are here and can't get lost unless I lose ALL the baggies of everybody (hey! It could happen) I will also say I am afraid to post my seeds available list because I am terrified they have already been promised to somebody in dmail or the other thread and I forgot to pull them. It is taking me a long time to go through and double check. :) It's hard to be hostess, and have a lot of seeds to get rid of and make a lot of promises.

Suzy -- what i was going to do for everyone I promised seed to... is to put all the lil clear 2x3 envies into a standard sized envelope, then put all those into a bubble mailer then off to you.

but -- i certainly do not have as much as many others... so this will work for me.

To be honest with you, I've given up trying to make a note as to who received what on my list in the thread. I have an envie for each person who made a request and their seeds are in them so they will get what they asked for. I trust everyone is doing a similar thing because I have no clue what I have asked other people for. It will be a big surprise for me when I see the enivies! I say let's just keep it simple.

Yes, that's what I have done, too (put the seeds in a baggies as soon as they are posted) -- now the big question is: have I been successful or did I get sidetracked looking for one thing that I know is "right here somewhere" and miss a post or a request.

Suzy, I have given this some thought today. I don't think I have the time to get all of this done. With having to fix for my MIL 3 times a day, and getting her back and forth to the Dr, I would be putting pressure on myself, that I don't need.

I tried to find a way to fit it in, but it's just not gonna work. I will catch you all next time, and I can still do some one on one trades, if anyone needs anything from me, but nothing this large.

Wow Fraus... That neat. I can' catch so would you please pas s me one or two of the UNks. Coreposis ' Moonbean is the one I looking for. I doubt they are it though. I have only seen them as cuttings. But I willign to take a chance on them.
Just a note. I knew I had bought two packages of Larspur and foudn the other package so all who I had questiosn marks by or who hd asked. I got them in yoru envelopes.

My eyes are about blind. Seems all the seed I need to put in a clear seed baggy was the tinest it could be. I happy though that I finally got things organized. Got a envelope with evrybody name on it and addign the little seed packets as I make them and then gonan stuf f them all in one big bubbler to ya Suzy. So I hope that ok.
