Hey-Mr. K-how did Steve Owen die? I missed the first half of Eastender's and now I am lost!!
Do you know how he died???

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

Mr. K thought he was a gnome and shot him.

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

ROFLOL yep could be..............Mark went back to bed..... he has a migraine this morning but when he wakes I'll ask him. I don't know cos I don't watch that show....

Morning all.....:o)

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

Good morning, Lauri. Hope Mr. K feels better. I really need a new song.

Off to work on seeds. Only 200 + to catagorize and add to my list. lol. It is ALL Robbi's fault.

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

LOL only 200+.........I can send you more if you need them, hehehehehe
(said while ducking and running for cover) He just needs to sleep it off and then he will feel better.
I am keeping the cats downstairs with me so they won't bug him...

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

If you send anything, I think I would request........ALL YOUR CROCOSMIA!!!

Feel better, Mr. K :^(

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Robbi

Steve Owen died in a car crash being chased by Phil Mitchell.................
The car caught fire and he was trapped inside while Phil watched him............... he was shouting Phil for help and then the car just blew up!!!!! Coolest eastenders show ever!!!!

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Traci

Step away from the Crocosmia.................... or every gnome in the states will die!!!!!!!

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

I would not be too sure about that. Once before the English engaged in a little war with the states, 13 at that time. We do love our gnomes and our guns. My little 9 mm is awfully good. ;^)

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

ROFLOL Traci you crack me up!!! My little gun I left behind was equally good....

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Mornin all. Hope you feel better, Mark!

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Feel much better now thank you.................... although, Traci is gonna shoot me with her 9mm!!!!! So I may not be much better for long.................. LOL

Although we can get acess to a 357 smith/wesson with 5 grain hollowpoints!! We have connections...............

Saint Cloud, MN(Zone 4b)

Mr.-thanks so much for informing me I missed the coolest one ever-that just made my day!! So could Phil have saved him? I felt so sad for Mel-and that Sammy-stupid cow!! grrrrrr OK-got that off my chest

Traci-a history lesson-it wasn't 13 states that beat the Brits, we were 13 Colonies of farmers!! Whenever my father in law complains about the English-or slags off the Americans-I laugh and say "How bad can we be-13 Colonies took care of those English-a bunch of farmers with pitchforks and your entire country with Wallace and Bruce couldn't" LOL-he shuts up-LOL (Sorry to all the Scots-I just say it to me DFin L as a bit of thorn in his side-LOL) It is the only thing I have leverage with-LOLOL

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Phil sorta did walk towards the car just as it was gonna blow up............. so i guess he was going to rescue him........ MAYBE!!!

TRY IT NOW YOU FARMERS.............................. we are ready for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

History, History, United States
From 13 original colonies.
Shout it, Shout it, tell all about it,
We #1 from beginning to end.
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut.....

A song we learned in grammer school and all the states were in alphabetical order. I still remember them all.

I didn't want to confuse them with colonies, LIW Robbi. Also, it was one of the first forms of guerilla warfare. Normally battles where two groups with drums and flags marching towards each other and Clash. We would use the woods and land to sneak attack.

Furthermore only 1/3 of the colonial population were actually for the war and many of the colonists sided with the Brits or were neutral, so we basically kicked butt with 1/3 of 13 colonies.

And, if you want.....Hahaha. Just kidding. Am I a nerd? Nahhhhh........

What are you ready with, Mr. K, your policemen can't carry guns, much less a civilian?

LOVE YOU BOTH!!!

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

well miss know it all..........................

Firstly, our police do infact carry guns when needed.............. but being a civilized country they don't need to carry guns.that much.

And, I have a rifle i keep for gnome killing etc................

so stick that in your pipe and smoke it pilgrim !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and about the war.................. we had already fought the french and kicked their butts and in the indian war............... so a lot of the english soldiers were taken out of america because it was quiet there!!! They were shipped back to reinforce the dwindled regiments here.
So your people picked exactly the right time to start on the english as they knew we were totally out numbered!!!
Soooooooooooooooooooooo that makes them really brave doesn't it..........

WE LOVE YOU TOO................. LOL

Well can I pop in and say hi, I never seem to get the time to stay long so I don't know many folks, but this seems like a new thread, I liked the bit about us being civilised in the UK, certainly in Caistor and here in Hull too...well sometimes...

XX Jeannine

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Hi Jeannine

sometimes in Hull........................ LOL
Nice to have someone eon here that is just down the road from us..............

Mark

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

Hi Jeannine,
Please excuse the above exchange. I am just picking on my English friend because they have not called and he has a migraine, thus the horrid punctuation, fragments, and spelling. Welcome, welcome. We have been an ever growing group of fun, yet slightly odd group. We love it when new people join, so jump on in.

So what does your garden grow? What are your interests? Terriculture from London will pop her head in every once and again, but she is mostly training this wannabe floral arranger in cut flowers. Mr. K and Lauri are found most of the time in our Midsouth Forum or here. He luuuuvs that southern accent.

I will be back later to debate you further, Mr K.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Shame on you Traci for shooting our Mr Mark! LOL

Saint Cloud, MN(Zone 4b)

I just noticed at Walmart that there are seeds!!! Yippeee!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

They have them at Lowe's now too! OOPS, maybe I oughta keep me mouth shut! HE HE

Coquitlam, BC

Hi again folks , well I work in a school, I can spell well but I type too fast and make stupid mistakes so you are forewarned that I type rubbish sometimes.

I grow all my own veggies, but I have bought a few flowers this year, my garden is small and mostly paved and gravelled, with raised beds and load of pots, some very big with fruit trees in, I have a small greenhouse in the back that I heat for starters and do all my seeding in there. Then I have about 1/3rd acre of community garden about 5 minutes drive away that has three more greenhouses on and the rest is a growing area for veggies and soft fruit etc. I have raspberries, blue berries, strawberries, peaches, cherries red and black currants and gooseberries , I also have a very raised bed of asparagus, I have a disgusting collection squash and tomatoes and I guess beans too so I grow what we eat, In the open ground we do the other veggie including my corn.

I love to cook and it shows, I sew a lot, collect a few things,

I have a kiln as I taught porcelain doll making in Canada and thougt I might do some here too but haven't yet, I ma addicted toe bay I think, certainly addicted to seeds..

My husband I are kite makers too..

Is that a good start!! Oh and I m quite eccentric, which is an artistic way of saying odd so might fit right in, You sound like a lively bunch so thank you for the welcome
XX Jeannine

I lived over your side of the pond till six years ago, the came back here, most of my adult life in BC Canada also much time spent in Oregon and Washington.

I was born in England and went there later as a grown up, I was there almost 30 years.
My gardening as you can imagine is very US.

I quilt, I have three Pekingese dogs and 2 cats and a husband I adore.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Welcome, Jeannine! Sorry, I must have missed you before when I was just skimming trying to catch up with all these loonies! HA HA HA Just kidding ya all! :)

Saint Cloud, MN(Zone 4b)

welcome JeannineAnne! I am a bit frightened that you are a teacher-I spell really bad-My excuse is that I get American spelling and UK spelling confused-LOL Grey/gray kerb/curb...I still never remember which is the way we spell Grey here-LOL But in truth I am a terrible speller! Firefox corrects things for me unless it is a word with 2 spelling and then I am in trouble!

Welcome welcome :o)

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Robbi....Spelling??? Well let's not go into that....How about driving???? LOL

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

"I spell really badly", LIW Robbi. Are we going to get points for grammer errors as well?

Webster dot com - Usage Note: Bad is often used as an adverb in sentences such as The house was shaken up pretty bad or We need water bad. This usage is common in informal speech but is widely regarded as unacceptable in formal writing. In an earlier survey, the sentence His tooth ached so bad he could not sleep was unacceptable to 92 percent of the Usage Panel.

YOU GO GIRLFRIEND! OOPS, Robbi, Lady In Waiting that is! ♥

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

ohgod, another woman driver on the roads........................... LOL

Coquitlam, BC

Ha Ha, well I am not a teacher, I am Home School Liason, which is a long word for someone who is a bridge between home and school for problems, support etc, so I get all the saddies and angries, be them child or adult.

Re mixing up US and UK spellings.. ha ha again, I can't get away with that one,I try every day, in fact I am so confused by leaving here for there and returning 3 decades later that I am not sure which is which anymore and I have given up.

It is confusing, I have been back here six years and still put gas (not petrol)in my car, my stuff in the trunk(not boot) and I lift the hood(not bonnet) to check the oil. I still grow eggplants and zucchini, not aubergines and courgettes!!

What is even funnier is I still feel like a tourist and I was born here!!

You would die laughing if I told you what I ship over!

Thank you for welcoming me, it is the best of both worlds on this thread, so can you tell me something about yourselves.

XX Jeannjine

Saint Cloud, MN(Zone 4b)

tell me!! I am trying to get a box for laurie and she won't give me any clues!!
I know I wanted Mircle whip, and Kool Aid-but I can't remember what else. Oh yes SHAKE and Bake!!

I miss the very sour apples (Bramley's??) and Walkers!! I wonder how apples would ship. Oh and sausage rolls, mince pies (not mincemeat-have that here-just not the store bought ones) and Tea.

JeannineAnne-the tell tales signs that you are part American are-what do you call that thing on the top of your eraser AND what do you call that metal that soda cans are made of (or skoosh cans as Sweet Man calls it)

About me...I was born in MN and lived in many places, my grandfather was Scottish and sang Scottish folk music to me when I was little-I always loved Scottish culture and history....met a Scotsman when living in Texas, noticed he talked funny but thought he was just drunk-LOL....married a year later in Scotland and moved there where is family was (interestingly it was just across the Clyde from where my family came from-I felt at home for the first time in my life)-Moved back to the states when my dad got sick and been here ever since. The economy is much better over her.
We have 2 sons, Patrick and Ian, 3 9/10 cats (I say that because one cat is 23 lbs-the size of two really) and a hamster that is so old it won't be with us much longer. We bought an old historic home in May that has been let go and we are fixing it up. I love plants and I like seeds-some will tell you I am an addict-but not really-I share, I am a collector-LOLOL
Next year it will be plants I am sure, but if there is a certain type of plant seed you are looking for-ask-I may have it for you :o)
Also, I am trying to get any Heather and those little lawn daisies that are all over peoples front yards there. They are Bellis-but not the kinds you can buy in stores. I want a few plants from a yard-LOL
Thanks me :o)
Oh yes-I love Gnomes-but Mr. K keeps saying he is gonna shoot em!!! grrrrrr

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Robbi, wake up! LOL

Saint Cloud, MN(Zone 4b)

OK-I need to get coffee-then LOOK OUT!!!!!!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

UHHO, we will be in big trouble then! HE HE HE

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Jeannine,
Oh yes the differences are too funny...........I still laugh at the give ways (yields) and no stop signs here!! I think I may have seen one before a lorry (semi truck) took it out....People asking *are you o.k*. instead of *how are you*...first time I heard that I thought I looked poorly (sick). Side walks are hard shoulders and pavement is tarmac, corners on the roads are bends....I could go on ...LOL............Oh I found a U.K. site that you can buy all sorts of goodies on a tad expensive but worth it if you are craving things...
I am California bred, born, married and divorced. I have a 24 yr old son Howard and a real cute dog named Gladys back in the states .I love all flowers and tolerate some pink coloured ones and of course Crocosmia. I am planning on a small veg garden where I too can grow a zucchini or two and a few other vegis.....LOL I don't know how long you have been on this forum but I met Mark here on DG a little over a year ago and well the poor guy decided to ask this yankee wench (as he calls me) to marry him so here I am now and Loving every second!!!....LOL Any questions just ask, as my life pretty much an open book...

Robbi,
I forgot to tell you but all the Bramley's (6) and not a seed in any of them I don't know why...I shall keep looking for you as I use more. And I'll look into the Walkers too....As to what I want LOL... I have adapted pretty well to not missing most things ,as some things I just wing it and go from scratch since Mark is not a big fan of spices....tho he is getting better..Lawery's season salt is sorely missed, and mini marshmallows and panko too but I cannot think of any thing else at the moment...
How are you set for tea?? LMK and I can get a box off for you too...

Hugs Lauri

(Cathy), MO

Hi everyone and welcome Jeannine. It's gorgeous here today, if a bit windy. Upper 60's already and it's just after noon. I'm sure we'll pay for it later but I am enjoying it right now!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey Cathy, was just wondering about you a little while ago! :)
