Thought I would post the link to DH's news interview :-) He's the second guy in the blue jacket.
It starts with an ad - sorry
edited to delete the link..
If you REALLY want to see, Dmail me and I might let you see it :-)

Happy Birthday to Victor and Meeeee!!!!
Not so sure it's a good idea to let the (DG) world know where you live.
wow - the pro's in MA hang out in family-type neighbourhoods?
That wouldn't work here - no sidewalks, and no place to stop a car.
Lots of ditches here and the shoulders of the road are narrow.
Who works the streets on a day like that? (pictured in the newsclip)
You think? then I guess I will delete the link. . .
Actually, the newscast is pretty funny. Where we live, half-way down the street, we really have little problem -except with speeding cars. And the police did not initiate getting the streets blocked - the neighbourhood did. And it was an uphill battle to get bureaucrats to support us . . .
But at one end of the other street, there really were serious problems and these have been dramatically reduced.
Victor advises me to eliminate the video, but it is already public anyway. I supposed if someone was stalking me, they now know what my husband looks like, so I supposed it is wise advise.
Never considered that Victor. Isn't the NE Forum subscription only?
I guess I thought that anyone with ill-intent most likely did not subscribe to DG.
I doubt this would be a real exciting place for a criminal to hang out.
But it does make one consider that realm of possibility.
Point: the tv broadcast has a greater viewing audience than DG.
I wonder how many criminals watch the news?
I'm just trying to examine this from a different perspective.

I wasn't advising. Just pointing out potential problems. We may be subscription only, but that is still over 6,000 people and anyone who shares their computers.
Duly noted. I knew that raising points would illicit more informed responses to reflect on.
I didn't mean to infer that your points were a negative, Victor.
On the contrary, they were excellent.
I am one of those that asks lots of questions in an attempt to analyze situations. While I appreciate the ability to communicate with others via this type format, I find it lacking insofar as discerning the "tone" in which comments are made. Well, not ALL the time!
Nowadays, eyes are everywhere, and privacy is becoming an illusion. Yours was a needed reminder of just that.
I did not take it that way, KT! In the first part of my post, I was referring to Michaela's previous post where she said I advised her to remove it. I then responded to your post about subscribers.
I try to periodically remind people about safety and posting - especially regarding photos of children. We all feel very comfy here but can't forget that not everyone who views our posts can be completely trusted. Thanks.
Victor
I think it is very sweet of Victor to remind us. It shows that he cares. :-)
and lets not forget the wackos weilding stir sticks...
I'd love to see it, M, does it show the alleged garden you allegedly want us to camp out at in May? You have my email address.... x, C
Uh no, the newsbit only shows the street with great old houses and lots of snow! You don't even get to see my house!
Victor - glad you didn't take it that way, as I was just trying to noodle it by asking questions. Certainly don't want to raise a ruckus here...
Hoo boy - so much splainin' to do sometimes!
now what's up with the wackos wielding stir sticks? I am slow of thought today - fighting a head cold.
Maybe I need to use some stir sticks...
uh... what's a stir stick?
is it what they put next to the umbrella in your cocktail?
well, that would be the type I am familiar with.
Unless you are speaking of those quasi-paddles that you would use to stir paint.
Actually, it might have been on Victor's birthday thread, or another thread anyway. It was about rude people stirring things up on forums. I must have mixed my threads.
Probably about me.
No Carrie it wasn't. It was from a few days or so ago.
Thank goodness. (feeling persecuted) xxx, Carrie
Happy belated birthday to me and Victor and Happy belated Anniversary to pirl. amethystsm, those cards you posted were wonderful. Particularly loved the card that said, "The excitement never ends".
This thread is a crack up. Really glad I found it. What a hoot some of you are! From birthdays on down to weddings and funerals. For us, we intentionally chose Las Vegas. We hid from our family and took off for Elvis' Temple of Love in Las Vegas. Ah, nothing like the land of Elvis impersonators on every corner, fake Rolexes, and passing out brides in full length wedding gowns blocking pedestrian traffic as the perfect setting for a wedding. We didn't get a choice of music, "Here comes the bride, all dressed in white..." played loudly and obnoxiously in the background and we just stood around assembly line style and when our turn to get married came, we stepped up and exchanged vows. That was it. We asked to have our photo taken with the man who married us who proudly shared with us that he held the Guinness book of world's record for most weddings. Somehow, that statement didn't exactly make us feel special but we suppressed giggles because he was so sincere. We had a few photos taken with him, it was a little windy that day. When the film was later developed, we laughed out loud because his hair was half off his head flipped straight up in the air from the wind in every photo. Can we say bad toupee? It is our intent to both have green burials and we want to be stripped of everything to include eye glasses. And I do mean everything- no gold fillings are to be left in our teeth, no hearing aids, and no clothing that could be donated to senior centers or homeless shelters. For where we're going, a sheet seems fine to us. We've also decided to pass on having visitations of any sort. We want family and friends to go out for a night on the town on us as opposed to sitting around blowing off an evening or two at a funeral home.
How did I do with the stir stick?

Ribbon in the Sky lyrics
Oh Oh so long for this night I prayed
That a star would guide you my way
To share with me this special day
Where a ribbons in the sky for our love
If allowed may I touch your hand
And if pleased may I once again
So that you too will understand
Theres a ribbon in the sky for our love
This is not a coincidence
And far more than a lucky chance
But what is that was always meant
Is our ribbon in the sky for our love, love
We cant lose with God on our side
Well find strength in each tear we cry
From now on it will be you and i
And our ribbon in the sky
Ribbon in the sky
A ribbon in the sky for our love
Theres a ribbon in the sky for our love
Funny Lauren! And thanks.
I'd like to be composted, which is probably illegal - but - ashes are ashes! *wink*
As long as you're mixed with an appropriate amount of greens! Don't want to mess up the compost ratio as your final act.
I'm with AYankeeCat. One problem, I checked into it and it is illegal. We can't be composted around here- big no no with the EPA. Spoilsports.
Who's gonna see it??
I don't necessarily believe who sees it to be the problem problem. My thoughts are that the problem is going to be who smells it wafting along with the breeze on a nice warm spring day.
Ashes are sterile. They don't have a "smell".
They should be cooled first!
No No No! I know you can toss ashes in a composter, just remove the non-combustable toe ID. I was talking about wanting to forgo the process at the crematorium so I could be sent straight to the composter. Seems logical to me. Why waste precious energy incinerating me if I can be tossed straight into a composter?
That's what my fireplace is for.
I suppose anything is possible. You'd have to be cut to size first so you could be stacked on the grate. All joking aside, we actually put thought into this. That's when we discovered green burials. We seriously didn't want to waste money being embalmed for some 3 hour visitation that we didn't want people to be forced to attend anyway. The green burial seemed to be the way to go. There was an option out there to donate our bodies to science but we figured they had enough stacked up not being used already so no sense adding ours to the pile. The other deal with that is that if you donate to science, they said somebody would have to claim our remains after they were done with them. Didn't want our kids getting stuck with that bill.
So what is a green burial? Soylent green??
Reduce, reuse, recycle! No, not soylent green. Basic explainer here-

Thanks. Read it, but don't see the advantage over cremation.
LOL.... I had to read this... my poor office mate keep asking what am I laughing about it!!!!! oh you guys are good....
my nephew told me that he wants to be buried in such a way I could plant a tree. I told him that I will take him on ii, but I will plant roses... and let my dog Nino pee on him!
We were all set to be nuked and I figured our ashes could be spread in a local forest preserve so that we wouldn't end up on some shelf in one of the kids' houses and then I read a newspaper article about green burials. Looked interesting to us. Did a little bit of research and figured it might be the better way to go for us. Lends new definition to the term "pushing up daisies".
http://www.greenburials.org/
During the process of cremation pollutants such as dioxins, hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, sulphur dioxide and carbon dioxide are all released into the atmosphere.
Ackk. It is so hard being green!
I doubt very much can come from one body! You have to weigh that against the incredible waste of precious space that cemeteries are.
