Thank you, Jeanne for a reminder of a great day. BTW my sago's are doing great. Have them protected for the winter then going to plant. yay
Hurry up and unpack Shari, we want to hear of the great adventure! We have missed you...
I just remembered that she had that wedding to cater, so it may be awhile before we hear back from her! Plus she may need time to get settled in!
Thanks Ladies for signing "her card"! Hopefully we can get everyone to add to it as well!!!!
Welcome Home, Girlfriend!!!

Hello all my wonderful DG friends! Jeanne, thank you for posting this lovely welcome, and thank you all for adding to it. Yes, we got home the 6th, and I must have picked up some kind of bug on the plane...been sick since we got back. The wedding was the 9th, and it was beautiful, the bride and groom were adorable...generous and gracious to all. There was even a gecko barking just as they exchanged rings (waaaaay good luck), and a tiny shower of rain (more good luck). These two were just plain meant to be. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food...many ...even guys!...came back for seconds and thirds....didn't seem to mind that it was all vegetarian.
Got my Christmas tree up yesterday and basically took it easy to try to get over this crud, whatever it is. Today I am back on the Garden.
Here is a picture of me, Susan and Carol at Carol's place in Hawaii...more about this part of the adventure in a while.....hugs to all of you...especially Christi, Randy , Jeanne and Carol....
Soooo sorry you've been feeling punky. At least you got home before you were sick and had a good holiday. Can hardly wait to hear all about it. Guess you can see who's been missed.
Rest.
LouC
Welcome back!!! We had such fun with you here...wasn't the wx awful on Oahu???
Sorry you got the crud...drink lots of fresh Ginger Tea...boil the roots and make it strong. Knocks it out of me REALLY fast.
I didn't meet Shari here...we are just old friends who haven't seen eachother in ages!!!!
Aloha,
Carol
You are so very sweet my friend! Yep, the vacation was a total blast, very, very busy and very, very fun. Maybe my funk is just exhaustion?! I have so much to tell you, but it will have to be in bits and pieces...I have a deadline article to finish up and a house full of boxes and luggage and dirty clothes to take care of....how come life keeps interfering with my DG time????
Here's my Pop and mom on Vet's Day....it just looks like he's got four legs cuz I'm standing behind him.
Carol! How right you are! But it was exactly the same with Christi and Randy! We were just old friends who had been separated for a while...took about 30 seconds to "jump right back to where we left off". Jeanne was a new friend that has now become one of the "old crowd". Now I want to get us ALL together! Just so you all know....we could camp out at Carol's place, and she would never know we were there...well until Thelma and Louise told her anyway....Hugs to Mike and Bob and new friends Susan and David....and also to Jeanne's Chris....
The resaca behind my folk's house in Brownsville:
So happy to see you back Shari, look everyone has been in withdrawal ...
wow straight back into a wedding, you must be exhausted, that is the trouble with a holiday you need a holiday to get over your holiday! You like you had a wonderful time and Rj and the gang did you proud ...I bet you miss them already,I can hardly wait to hear details re big get together ...wedding and the veg menu!,the pic of your parent's back yard is lovely ...it looks just like a lot of places here.
Well take care of yourself ...try and rest up a bit if you can ...and then ...details of Shari's big adventure :)
A welcome cyber hug from way down here!
chrissy
Wow!!
Look at those cute Islander girls!!!
As Mr Cotter would say Welcome Back!!!
Hi you two! It is definately good to be back, but you're right! I wish I could have brought all my DG friends home with me! I miss them all already! More later...
We've missed you too! Get well, and then come visit, and tell us all about it!
Jeanne
Welcome back!! I might end up disappearing for awhile if this ice knocks out power. And the worst part is it happens just as you get back!!! :~(
Not to worry Pep, you will be in our thoughts even if you aren't participating. Stay warm!
Jeanne - I can't seem to stay away from my pooter...ha ha...best medicine I have!
This is what we are dealing with. It is a big system.

Oh geesh!!!! Stay safe kiddo! Do NOT go riding! Horseshoes do not mix well with ice!
LOL. I cancelled that for this week yesterday. I'm staying put and only going outside to get the mail and paper.
Leave the paper...unless you need it to light a fire, its just bad news anyway. Stay on the pooter and get good news instead! ☺
LOL. Well, I have to get X-mas stuff ready so I won't be on til later anyways assuming we have power. And you need to answer your d-mail now that you are on here. :~)
OK..so this is the great Shari that y'all dahlins been bragging about!!!
Welcome home, Tropical Gardening will breathe better now!
~Jaye

Hiya Jaye...nice to meetcha! And don't believe a word anyone tells you about me. (Good or bad! Ha!). I am on my way out the door, but I promise to spend more time here later...talk to ya all soon!

Hi Everyone....just dropping in for a while, then off to bed....busy day with errands and Dr's.
Jaye, ya doing OK! How's Kel, and the little dahlins????
Christi.....doing OK? Out there shopping for that little Grandbaby?
Pepper and TM, glad you are surviving the weather!
Jen, Carol, finally getting things cleaned up????? Hope everyone is OK!
Shari you have Dmail!
Hi guys!
Hi Shari glad you made it back okay. It sure was enjoyable having you here. Next time my spare bedroom will trap the both of you for a couple of days!
I so regret not making it to the big Island to see Carol last year! It'll happen sometime though.
Been busy here, still getting alot of work done around the garden, been very warm!
That cold front was headed this way, but very strong gulf warm front actually pushed the cold front back towards Colorado. This time of the year it's very unusual for a cold front not to get it's way! We were a lucky few who were in this bubble of warm air in the southern portion.
That packet of pepper ! yumm.delicious num num!
Feel better!
And my new signature jewelry that is a one-of-a-kind attention getter everywhere I go. Such exquisite craftmanship. Have read the words off the pages of IZ. Sorry, rj, next time they will come through Dallas and I will have the honor. You could join us though.
LouC
I have a better idea, we can hop a plane to Hawaii and they can meet us. You know you'll be going back again and again after your trip.
Is it cold there yet? I've been migrating stuff to the green house, and have the garage ready for bigger stuff in case I need to toss them in. Right now Saturday night is forecasted at 32F - Of course these very warm days and nights
have things blooming, and the weather folks have at least 21 more changes to make by then.
This is the most amazing thing I have ever seen...and the forecasters are saying the same. The are having fluctuations as much as 60 degress in a matter of hours. Yesterday it got to almost 80 again for about 5-6 hours then plunged into the forties almost all at once. Today is warmish again. Saying to expect 32 by Friday. They don't know. Pretty much got everything into the shed/greenhouse and others wrapped up before this all hit. Don't really know what to make of it. The weather map is like a psychedelic poster. The double yellow daturas and the yellow rose are making the best show of all year.
Happening here too LouC
Your weather is making headlines over here! (ours too)
Our temp will only reach 65F today unheard of at this time of the year (I am loving not having to endure 115 F) but I am missing a blue sky, it has been grey for so long now.The plants will burn when the sun appears.
I hope you keep your warm air bubble Rj
The last of the Summer flowers are the sweetest.
I hope you all stay safe and warm,77 don't overdo it!
you too pepper! to everyone else ...I hope the clean up is going ok!
and I hope no one else has to go through it!
chrissy
