That Santa is adorable with the Bee's on his net and the tools in his pockets!!!!
This is Paul's xmas project. We worked together for over a year to reclaim his destroyed, and beloved Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments, Star Wars Series. His whole collection was destroyed by an evil entity whose name is never spoken. This was the first year Paul was able to put up a tree with enough of these ornaments.
That is my favorite santa pixie. I am an "after holiday sale shopper"...almost as bad as the bulbs. I went to a local high end nursery/collectors store, and saw that santa there. It was marked 75% off, and I think I paid $25 for the santa...to me, a steal. There aren't to many garden themed santas out there...lol. I have looked for those santas.
Very nice Thom! 'Bee-ing' allergic myself, I like that Santa too.
Wonderful collection of santas! My oldest sister used to collect them.
It's neat that you were able to restore the Star Wars tree to it's glory. Your house must be huge to have so many trees in there. Everything looks wonderful!
Janet
Our home is actually tiny, not shoebox tiny, but quaint. We have 8rooms, not including 2 bathrooms, the attic and basement. Our house is aproz 107 y/o, and from what we gleaned is a Sears box kit home. It's a work in progress, if this says anything, we purchased the home for $14K, 6 years ago. I tend to try to cram as much xmas stuff as I can, into every possible place. If I didn't have the extra bedroom set up as an extra bedroom, there would be a tree in there as well...lol. Paul is extremely proud of his Star Wars tree...I wish I had the ability to record it with auditory capabilities; as soon as it is plugged in, a few of the ornaments play the star wars theme, speak in character voices, or quote one liners from the movies...lol. I keep telling Paul, between my Santas and Snowman, and the trees, and star wars, we are both very kindly in touch with our inner dork...lol.
Funny, Thom! Wow - $14K!! Can't do a bathroom over for that!
Thom - beautiful decorations and you did an awesome job displaying them. I just love your collection of Santas. I won't let DD#1 see the Star Wars tree or the decorations may end up missing. LOL She loves Star Wars - May the Force Be with You!! Eleanor
Fantastic collections, Thom! Your home looks really cozy and very Christmasy! Thanks for sharing those neat shots with us.
I want to go and live at Thom's! Everything looks so neat and tidy, and oh so Christmas-y!
Thanks for continuing the thread, Thom. Your photos are great.
When I finally get the outside decorated, I'll take those pics and send them. It's been to cold. I hate ladders, so Paul needs to help me; the thing he dislikes more than dirt on his hands, are cold fingers...so, another uphill battle...lol.
Tell him that I hate cold fingers, too. Consequently, that's why I have teen-aged grandchildren!
Does she include you?? Is your (real) tree up already?
No cracking for me please.
Real and fake trees are up, I didn't get good pics yet. I'll try tonight again.
Beautiful decorations Al and Louise. Al, Maybe you can get that pic of your trees if you do a drive by (at 70 miles per hour) LOL!!!! Eleanor
I have wanted to start collecting nutcrackers for some time now, my other xmas vices keep getting in the way, and I think Paul would shoot me if I started another collection! I'll just be envious with the nutcrackers that others have!!! My mother collects humminbird and butterfly ornaments, so I try to pick them up for her. Any idea where you got your hummingbird ornament, it is stunning!
Your Humingbird is beautiful Al! I have a similar hummingbird as the pull chain on my ceiling fan/light and I just love it. Fortunately, it doesn't hang so low that you bump your head on it, unlike the last thing that was hanging there. I think it was supposed to be an ornament, but I thought it was just too pretty to only get out for Christmas. I love the nutcrackers that I've seen Al. I have enough boxes already to go up in the attic without adding another collection.
Louise, your house looks wonderful. I love your fire place! We added on to the back of our house a family room/dining room that is 37 X 16. I wanted to add a fireplace to the room, but got nixed on that idea. Hubby said we'd never use it here in SE Texas and that it would always be a mess to have to worry about. I did win on the 6 X 6 side by side windows though, so I shouldn't complain. I've only had a fireplace in one of the houses we've ever lived in and we didn't live there through the winter to be able to use it. (sniff, sniff)
But hey, we have a chiminea... like that's supposed to provide the same ambiance as a fireplace!
I'm pretending here...
Janet
Cute nutcrackers! I have beem collecting moose for the past 10 years, so many that now I try to only pick up something unique. But that doesn't keep everyone else from buying me moose. Even co-workers leave moose on my desk. I'll try to post my moose tree this weekend, just need to get the main tree finished and put all the boxes away. I have a moose den in the house (a spare bedroom) and I buy coffee mugs and key chains with moose on every vacation that is moose-able.
Deb, no wonder you like Maine and Baxter State Park. It's definitely Moose country!
We finally got our fake pre-lit tree up yesterday. The two babies were most amazed by it!
I like moose too. The fireplace section of our great room has moose, wolves and bears.
Thanks, Eleanor and Janet. I wish the previous owners hadn't painted the bricks surrounding the fireplace. My DH wants to tackle removing the paint at some point. Some people think it's strange that most of the houses in our neighborhood have fireplaces here in South Fla., but I really love a fire in the winter and so does my DH. In Jan - March we have plenty of cool evenings for a nice fire.
Deb - I really want to see your moose tree when you finish it. We love the moose (plural) too.
