Al that is an awsome picture!
POST YOUR HOLIDAY "CARDS" HERE!
doesn't look to me like it needs fixing. I guess that's why I'll never be a great photographer.
Beautiful cards!! Eleanor
Al - I thought your first pic looked better than the second one. The second has fixed written across it!! LOL
Very nice Jan & Janet. Thanks.
Janet, same to you from western New York
Thanks! I had fun making that one. The nativity is one that is in the kids room. I was taking photos and thought that would make a neat card. So I cut it out and pasted it on "paper" and added the text.
Here is the original photo.
By the way, I've also been having some fun making "people tags" for my gifts this year. I've made a full sheet label with poinsettia background and put a dozen faces on each sheet. I plan on having my granddaughter Kaylee, who just turned 4 yesterday, help me play "Santa's helper" this year. I figured with photos she'd know which package goes to who.
Last year I let my oldest daughter use my camera to take photos and the pictures turned out terrible because she didn't bother to let the camera focus before shooting the photos. She's getting her own camera this year (the Sony H-9) so she can take all she wants, but I'm getting some good photos this year by taking them my own self! HAHAHA
Nice Jan and Janet.
Janet - you weren't sleeping through class last winter ;)
Janet, I love the idea of the 'people' tags for the 4yo. you did a beautiful job with the card. but who's the guy in the back who wore a suit to the Nativity? LOL
thanks, guys. that's the first ornament in my 12 Days of Christmas collection by Jim Shore. it's one of my Christmas presents, but I got it early so I could display it. I'm a quilter and Jim Shore does all these ornamental things with quilt designs. it's all I can do to keep from getting a ton of them. I try to be selective.
Show us your holiday quilt(s), Jan!
Onewish, those turtles are great. Did you make them yourself? Connie is the topiary-er around here. She's made some pretty cool looking lizards. I started a cat (from a wine rack that I got at Goodwill in the shape of a cat) but I never did get him finished. I hope to work on him again in the Spring.
Thanks Jan. The fella in the back is one of my Christmas Carolers. Here's the whole scene.
Al, of course I didn't sleep in your photo editing 101 crash course. :-)
Cutting out that Nativity scene was fairly easy since it was in a pentagram shape. My program has one of those as a "shape" tool for selecting. I used the smudge tool to get rid of any unnecessary background that was showing.
Janet, love the carolers...especially the little mouse at the bottom!
Al, I think I slept thru the sign-up for your class
Onewish, really like your turtles, too. I think one of them is a girl. looks like she has a bow in her hair
UniQueTreasures - yes my honey and I had a team work day... and made them both... took 4 hands to get the moss to stay put and fishing line tied around the form... was a pain in the butt... but I love them now... and would do it again... and gram (it's supposed to be it's eye)
:)
Jan - Feel free to jump in at any time.

thanks for the link, Al.
Great stuff here. Thanks for the inspiration.
Here's the card I sent out this year. I'm into vintage stuff big time, but my dh prefers religious Christmas cards. So last year I started a compromise. I make my own - with my favorite vintage card covers and a Scripture verse on the inside. Everyone's happy!
This year's verse is from Numbers 6:24-26 -
"The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace."
Sue - beautiful card! Love it! Eleanor
Beautiful Sue!
Very nice compromise and a lovely card!
Great card, Sue. You have a great creative gene.
I am envious.
I like that one Sue.
Thanks, everyone!
Very nice Michaela. You daughter is very pretty. You need to show your other daughter, whom I assume was the photographer?
Very nice.
Yeah . . . I like them :-)
Your daughters are very pretty! I have DD#1 and DD#2 also!! Eleanor
