Hello!
Thanks Pelle for the opportunity to start Volume 33.
Though quite common, I DO love the color on these male house finches, so thougth they deserved their due.
DAILY PICS VOL. 33
Looks like he might be related to Jimmy Durante,

I posted some SIX + pictures of birds [following my yesterday's visit to the lake] in this link to my old thread with a purpose that it becomes easier for me for later searches.
In continuation of Vol.32, my thanks for you Resin, et al for correctly identifying the Bee Eater. [another shot in the above link].
For now, here is a picture of a Heron by the lake.
Dinu
Very nice shot Dinu!
I have not been able to make my daily visits to the Bird Watching forums for days on end - I miss it. Thanks to everybody for posting. Every photo is a story for somebody else to enjoy.
Exceptional shot Dinu!
I got some of a Jay in the shadow of the oak which are 'acceptable', will post them later as it's dark early here, by 4pm!
Well I actually got more than the Jay, the sun was shining around midday but soon went to the same old dull. But I took my camera out in hopes, there was birds around, missed the Magpie that floated from the top of a tree near me as I hadn't got my camera quite ready, took the cap off but hadn't switched it on, then I zoomed it back but it was already out, it was on landscape so I switched to auto but by the time I got it it was a landscape shot! This is what cold dull weather does to the brain, lol.
The Jay was up in the shade of the farthest row of oaks, but the pics did lighten up a little. It was having a preen, then eating I guess an acorn, but it was then behind a branch so only got both ends of it.
Here it is fluffing it's feathers.
my thanks for you Resin, et al for correctly identifying the Bee Eater
You're welcome! Helps me keep my i.d. on my toes!
For now, here is a picture of a Heron by the lake
Indian Pond Heron (Ardeola grayii), juvenile.

I love that shot of your babies, wallaby.
Thanks nanny, it was so dull the camera had a job focusing on all the grey. You can see the bottom one was looking at me, I guess they recognise me!
probably! I have a WBN that will watch for me when I bring the tray out with the peanuts in it. It will stay right there on the tree until I get 3-4ft from the tree and then it will go up a littl higher. After I hang it and get about 3ft away from the tree it wiil come down to the tray. But it talks to me as if it is saying 'thanks'.
This pair were sitting where I usually see Doves
That's what they are, Collared Doves ;-)
Resin
Oh NO! They still look like babies to me, I knew you would tell me that!
Nice pics wallaby!
I ran across this posting of a northern Illinois bird watcher. His pictures of the Snow Buntings are lovely and so I wanted to share…

Very nice!!
Thanks Mrs Ed!
Thanks Resin for the right pointer on Heron.
Wallaby,
It is so very hard to picture birds sitting on branches in the shady areas, is it not? I have faced this problem too!
LOL!
What is the mirrored thing you are calling a "giant bean"?
That is so cool! Nice shot.
What is the mirrored thing you are calling a "giant bean"?
I'd call it a bird-killing device.
Mirrored things like that are lethal to flying birds - they should never have been given planning permission to build the thing :-((
Resin
That is a sculpture called "Cloud Gate." It is in Chicago. It is more commonly referred to as "the bean."
