Hi everyone! I just wanted to thank all of you for the wonderful pics you share daily. I appreciate all of you and the wonderful knowledge you are willing to share. Each time I see a pic I want you to know that I silently thank you but get so anxious to see the next post etc. and usually don't get back to acknowledge how much I am enjoying this forum. Your pics are so good and I hope to get a good enough camera with a zoom so I can share too.l In the meantime I have to tell you that a Pileated WP has finally found our "bird feeding tree" and we are thrilled!! We have observed him doing flyovers for some time and have been hoping that he would become one of our visitors and this morning he stopped and pecked on the tree and even flew onto another tree that is closer to my viewing window. We have seen a Northern Flicker recently and if he visits that will be 5 types of WP that visit. Can you tell I am excited? Sorry to be so windy...just had to tell someone!!
DAILY PICS VOL. 33
Hey, congratulations dellrose! That is one WP that I have NOT seen yet, but would love to. As for the camera, I don't have a great one, but I set up feeding stations right next to my window. Some are still too fast or elusive for me though! Darn Chickadees just zip zip zip. In fact, to prove the point… here is this picture.
Great news dellrose; Congratulations!!
LOL; I have alot of those Mrs_Ed!
I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!
Gorgeous pictures everyone!! And, congratulations on the Northern Flicker Dellrose! Aren't they awesome? Mrs. Ed, I was beginning to think I was the only one who has problems photographing chickadees!! But, I got him today!! It seems that the birds are celebrating Thanksgiving today in my yard because it's so sunny out.
Here's Mr. Hard to get Chickadee...
Awww, Titmouse!! I love those. Never get them here in town though. Boo!
Night time temp. is now in the 20s and it's givimg the birds an appetite. The Steller's Jays have come back and joined with the Scrub Jays eating goobers, but what surprised me was a Spotted Towhee was carting off the peanuts. I wasn't able to get a pic of the Towhee grabbing the peanuts. He would dash in and out too fast. The Dark-eyed Juncos are out in force along with a couple of Sparrows and a few Lesser Goldfinch.
Nice pics wallaby; love the Blue Tit!
Glad we both had sun today!

Winter has finally arrived here. Today was cold and rainy ... not a good day for sitting outside watching my birds. Periodically, I'd peek out the window; and much to my surprise, I had a new visitior ... a ladder-backed woodpecker. I shot some pictures of him through my dining room window and they actually came out better than I'd anticipated.
