Beautiful sunrise pic. Waiting for the snow/rain/snow mess to arrive this evening. Overcast and cold 18 degrees.
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 7
That's a beautiful sunrise. Our skies are too overcast today to even get a glimpse of the sun. Snowing already in CT? Oh my!
A little.
21 and about 1 - 2 inches of snow. Brrrrrrrr.
No snow yet, here. I am still in 'anticipation' mode.
Does anyone else do this? The day or evening before a major storm, I get all tense and wound up, and can barely sleep. I tossed and turned until at least 1:30 AM today.
No, I don't get wound up. I laugh at the folks who have to run out and get staples before every storm. Like they're going to get snowed in and the horse & buggy won't make it to the general store!
I tend to get a little claustrophobic when there's been snow on the ground for a while. Probably restlessness from not being able to see the green/brown underneath it!
I do that Candyce, I don't want to "miss it". I've stayed in the mts of Virginia where the only thing that could make it to the store was a horse! (without the buggy) ☺
Temp 23.8°, Wind ENE 0.2mph, Baro 30.20↓
It's snowing lightly on Long Island (at least where I am). Accumulation ½ inch but it's not over yet...
NWS Urgent Severe Warning: Strong winds expected here Monday morning into Monday night.
This am...
Beautiful sunrise pic, Celeste. I agree....remember it for the photo contest!!
Nor'easter.......oh dear!!
Sue - LOL on the "social dud"/DG addiction comment. Very true!! I think I'm both!
Geez, Al, we still haven't heard from you - did you lose your power or something (hope not)?
Good catch there, Sue. Al? Al? Where are you?
Bummer Al. You must be tired. Quite a while until Spring, unfortunately.
That is one gorgeous picture, Al.

Nice shot Al. - Now you can go Ice Fishing! Hee Hee!
Thanks. To make sure no one copied that pic I pushed about 5' of snow on top of it.LOL
Aweome picture Al, and sounds like one of a kind. LOL
And thank you everyone for the lovely comments. I really thought it was a pretty sunrise. I then realized what tomorrow is bringing so I grabbed the camera.
PrimeroseSue, I think I may very well use it as my background...until another one (sunrise) catches my eye.

Pixie, that was a beautiful sunrise!
Al, you have a real gift, I save every pic you post!
Candyce, I hope all is well on the other side of town!
I came home to about 4 inches of snow in the driveway. Better than the year we came home from a week in Florida to 4 feet of snow.
What's the project? Does it involve the crabby cappuccino guy??
No, but he has snuck into some photos.
I am taking a pic from that spot once a week for a year and then will make a slideshow out of it.
That should be interesting. There was a guy who posted a thing on YouTube where he took a photo of himself every day for five years.
Talk about self centered. Maybe I'll make a cameo in the last pic 7/15
Holding cappuccino?
Sure - unless get a sponsor by then.
That's a great project! I would love to see that!
Victor-Your beech leaf performed well for you! The beech in our forest is dying like mad from a borer and then some fungus(forget the name) that comes after. It's too bad I love beech trees.

Al - that is a neat idea! Eleanor
No snow, 47, wet outside with more rain due for this morning. Strong wind warnings in effect for two days.
37 and slushy here. Windy later.
but Al ...that's not your house....
I love the photo. It's very Ansel Adam'ish.
Well, I didn't get to shovel, but I did broom it. Just call me Witchypoo.

Started about 40 this morning, dropping, 34 now, into the low 20's by this afternoon. Just shoveled the last foot of wet snow from the end of the driveway - couldn't even lift a shovel full, had to take an inch off at a time. Now there is an inch of water at the edge of the road.
It's 34 here in the MetroWest area. The robins started visiting my crabapple(?) tree off and on yesterday, so I cut up some apple and hung it from a wire mesh holder in the tree. Every time I see them there, the tree berries are all they're picking at.
I was so glad it warmed up this morning, but I still had to throw 5 or 6 quarts of hot water onto the windshield to get the ice off, and that was after the truck was warmed up.
It sure does look like one Sue, very pretty in bloom!
It started snowing last night around 1am, still snowing now but none of the wet snow. It's all light and fluffy much to DGD dismay!

Oh, it's snowing! Still! It's wet and sticky, too. So far we have received about 5 1/2" of it. That's much better than the foot that had been predicted. All day yesterday I kept reminding myself that it HAD to get warmer to snow. Yesterday's high temp was about 15*. Today it's 28*. Much better.
We will get high, strong winds later tonight and through tomorrow.
Oh yeah - the kids have a Snow Day!
We just had afternoon classes cancelled. Most of what we had yesterday had melted by this morning, but we've gotten another 4 inches today. I've shoveled my driveway 3 times already today -the neighbors probably think I'm nuts, but we don't like to drive over even a little snow as then you get hard white icy tire paths down the driveway. Windy too.
Those hard white icy tire patches happen on roadways, too. That's just one of the things I hate about driving in the winter. Please be careful, Deb. Glad that classes got canceled though.
We shovelled twice today. Yje snow blower didn't work even with it getting serviced this summer, etc. Now I'm gonna take some ibuprophen for my back! There were a few moments of overwhelming beauty today, but mostly I can't wait to buy my new snow tires on Thursday!!
This was a dusting a few days ago.
