Volunteers for Conference committee

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

We have writers, store owners.. so many people here on DG the issue will be not how to get some speakers but rather how to limit the number!

Central, LA(Zone 8b)

LOL!!! I see your point!!!

Jeri

Port Vincent, LA(Zone 8b)

Just a reminder so you know who this is for:

Quoting:
We are more than aware of the great responsibility we have to begin this on the right foot. Many of you have volunteered and will be contacted sooner than later. Costs are foremost in everyone's mind, most especially ours. This would be something we would want to repeat so don't want to do it wrong right out of the gate. Just keep it in mind. Hope for the best. Share your ideas and excitement. You all know it can't be planned by the entire population but we will be depending on you from the get go. This is launch time. Watch out, people, this is lift off!!!

Dg WoodStock featuring the groups :

Plant Zoners with their hit How to Push the Z's

Dirt Digggers and their country song of Only One More Shovelful to Go

and don't miss The Seed Hogs in person ( if they can pull themselves away long from seed gathering )

The Compost Carrolers singing Manuers Magic

Sorry.. Couldn't resist, going back to my wallpaper spot. ; )

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

oh,hohohohoho... Love it, love it. Keep it up. Maybe you can have a new #1 on the Hit Parade. Must be someone on here who can add the music. Certainly there are others that could fill in the appropriate parts.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, I will be one of the Compost Carrolers for sure.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

This is soooo much fun.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

That it is - I love the Dave Stock idea... great name and gives me some great ideas for the show!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes! Like buying shares in the fun, could be one of them.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Now let's not let our enthusiasm wane. This is just the beginning. Won't it be great to say you were one of the first ever to attend a DG Convention? Still don't have good nomenclature. That sounds too stuffy for DG.

Robertstown, Australia(Zone 10a)

How About "Dave's Gardeners" ?

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you, Kitty. That is pretty obvious isn't it? hahaha lol

It's the "convention, expo or conference" part that is not just right.

Robertstown, Australia(Zone 10a)

Hmmmm... "Dave's Gardeners Get-together" ?

edited to add: or "Dave's Garden Gets Together"

Glenview, IL

You know, We should have a contest! for the the name I mean...you all have been awsom with this whole idea. Gathering info... Maybe, a contest like the photo contest...everyone puts a title in and the the one with the most votes is it! ...

Scottsburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Are you still looking for volunteers? I used to be in training & development, and have created and taught many classes for adults - if you need someone to help with organizing materials/sessions, or production of same. (OK, I've also helped coordinate smaller conventions before too - 500 or so size, but that's been a few years.)

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

We are and will keep you in mind. Can you drop me a dmail and let me know kind of what you ahve done before and what you could do? Thanks Mitch

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

There is indeed discussion going on regarding a naming contest. Get those thinking caps on. We are so excited that you are excited. On your home forums help us get the word out by telling everyone what is afoot. Lot of people that would be interested if they knew. Not everyone skips around so they won't have any idea that the biggest, bestest event in the whole world is about to happen.

YAY TEAM GO, GO, GO.

Takes every single member of this wonderful world of DG to make this be a reality.

Rocky Mount, VA(Zone 7a)

I still like "Dave Stock"

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Lots of different conotations to that Dyson and that makes it all the more fun.

Rocky Mount, VA(Zone 7a)

Lets go with "fun" cause it is what we need.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

You are sooooo right. Can you imagine a building rocking with the laughter of a huge group of DGers...just close your eyes.

If you can imagine, you can do it!

Rocky Mount, VA(Zone 7a)

I took a very long walk through the woods yesterday, encountered many cattle and many downed deer, At this time I am reflective as I would have proffered to meet only cattle.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

I can see it - Do the Mamas and the Papas still tour?

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Some of them are no longer with us. Cass being the first one I can recall.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Who else could we dream to get?

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Glen Frey, of the Eagles, lives on Caddo Lake on the Texas/Louisiana border.
Only natural lake in the entire state of Texas. He is a big environmentalist and naturalist. Shows up at lots places quite unexpected. When we get a date, might contact him. Anyone happen to know Glen Frey personally?

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

No - but WOW would love to get someone like that...

Scottsburg, IN(Zone 6a)

We could call those breakout sessions you're thinking of "Dave's Raised Beds" ;->

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

well gee how many country music people live in Texas??????
George Strait????....Neil McCoy???? who else??? and how many wouldn't' be willing to do something in their home state to help those wanting to improve things for growing food and improving the environment???

Just thinking off the top of my head of course LOL

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

My bf knew Glen Frey when he was starting out many many years ago. Doubt seriously Frey would remember him though.

Anne

-South Central-, IL(Zone 6a)

Maybe I can get Elvis to come... from Memphis :)

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

One never knows. This man is a genius and his memory must be sharper than average. Automatic answer to a question not asked is "no".

edited to say: This message was referring to Glen Frey, not Elvis. We cross-posted.

Macy's has Elvis in today's ad. Only $199.00. Moves his face and sings the songs.
